Hosts Kathy and Georgia were friendly,welcoming and helpful.We loved the quirky attic rooms and for two of us (sister and brother)had plenty of space.There are so many personal touches in rooms -it is really interesting and clever use of space.It was lovely to have living flame fire in lounge which was cosy as we travelled in winter.Glenelg has lovely beaches ,restaurants and cafes and we enjoyed lovely walks along promenade in winter sunshine as well as spectacular sunsets.Location was adjacent to my aunt's complex who we were visiting for her 90th birthday celebrations but travel into Adelaide was easy on tram.We also saw International Women's football game in Cooper's stadium and atmosphere was terrific.Aussies are warm and welcoming and public transport excellent again with helpful staff.

Only minor grumble was cooking facilities which were limited.Given excellent restaurants nearby this was minor .

Owner was very welcoming, and provided supplies for a continental breakfast. Clean and comfortable beds. Great shower. Washing machine and dryer were available. Lovely old world ambience.

Space under the beds needed a good clean, and was used for the owner’s personal storage. Fruit provided was possibly old and very dry. We discerned from previous questions to the owner that there was parking available. However, there was no parking for our car with a bike rack and bikes that we wanted secured. The owner did however offer for us to bring the bikes under her car port.

The place was sparkling clean and very homely with every need catered for. The location was fantastic and we'll definitely be back. Kathy was very welcoming and friendly.

I didn't realise until I got there that it was shared accommodation with the owner and that it involved a flight of stairs to get up there. It also mentioned a restaurant onsite and swimming pool that we didn't see.

Quiet. Lovely apartment. Very nice breakfast . Once we were able to access the apartment Kathy was very helpful

A chaotic start . We were very surprised to learn that our room wasn't ready even though we arrived at 6.30.pm We had trouble contacting the host as her phone was out of battery .

the comfort and ease of our checkin and out. plenty of everything, all we needed. great location and property was clean, great value with plenty for breakfast. I’d recommend it, pitty we only had one night.

no parking on site, only street parking. we had to carry our bags upstairs, for older people they may find that more difficult.

Lovely, comfortable beds. The Attic was very clean and welcoming, the knick knacks were interesting. Kathy was very nice and easy to approach. Good location.

The front yard did not present as it does in the photographs, which was slightly disappointing. (We thought we had arrived at a garage sale). Just needed a tidy up.

Water Bay Villa was very tastefully furnished, clean, comfortable and spacious. We loved the privacy of being upstairs and having our own entrance. Having our own washing machine and dryer was also very convenient. The well-equipped kitchen was also very easy to use.

With the shower positioned over the narrow bath, it was hard to keep the floor and walls around the bath dry...

Location fantastic. Short walk to beach and restaurants. Cute cottage feel.

Bath/shower combo is treacherous. And advertised 2 rooms but we had to share a room with a double and a single bed. Also a steep flight of stairs to carry up luggage so be aware of that.

Great location and a comfortable stay

Not overly accessible, need to pick suitcases up to get to the entrance gate and it’s then a very narrow staircase to get upstairs. The claw bath is also a bit scary. It was quite warm in the living space with only one small fan.

Lovely home with private access stairs to delightful upstairs attic accommodation space. Very friendly warm welcome by Kathy on arrival making us feel like 'true' guests rather than transient clients. Air conditioning welcome relief from a very hot Adelaide day. Very tastefully designed, laid out and decorated in a traditional style with many points of interest. Many quirky touches including ornaments, teddy bears, books and a space to readily spread out to relax in. A credit to Kathy! Enjoyed separate airy living room with sofa, table and TV area and adjoining well appointed kitchenette. Spacious bathroom off the large bedroom. Delightful array of supplies in kitchenette such as a bowl of fresh fruit, and small fridge stocked with breakfast supplies including cereals, milk, orange juice, teas/coffee, condiments, bread, butter and spreads. Microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery and glasses and with sink. Large double bed, with lovely linen and pillows very comfortable. We really enjoyed the location in this select part of Glenelg with easy walking distance to beach (400m at end of tree lined street) and pleasant foreshore promenade walk-way to Glenelg pier precinct, yet street parking outside property was not a problem.

Having to leave this accommodation gem after only one nights stay! Only shortfall, and minor, in the big picture, we would have preferred a stand-alone separate shower in the Bathroom rather than the fantastic looking and 'consistent with decor' shower rose over the classic claw-foot free-standing bath tub, from an older person's access point of view.
