Location was superb, right on the front at Brighton. Free WiFi/Internet and car parking were very welcome. Despite being a bit "tired" the hotel/room was perfectly acceptable, and amazingly good value for money.
No lift and only outside stairs to the bedrooms (fortunately, the weather was fine!). Some of the descriptions on Booking.com were wrong or misleading (eg it said no parking, but there was free parking; it said no breakfast, but breakfast was available in the restaurant; it invited me to "upgrade to a room with a toilet" but on querying the hotel the ensuite included in our choice of room did have a toilet).

Location was amazing, price of the room was acceptable for the 2 weeks I was there, was so easy to come and go, staff were amazingly helpful including cleaners ( had fresh towels and soaps every second day ) . No Smoking in rooms ( I'm not a smoker so was happy to know this ). Menu was available all day. Had free wifi, TV and many channels. Secure access with special code for main entrance. Car park on site. Free tea and coffee in the room.
Back entrance can be smelly due to toilet smells , some people smoked on the steps and garbage bins. I used this way as close to the car park. Car park in my opinion should locate spaces for hotel residents and not just for anyone, I could find spaces outside on the street but much prefer to have my own allocated space.

The beds had very clean sheets and towels changed daily. The restaurant had a good variety of meals at reasonable prices. Location is excellent
We have stayed here a few times now and the rooms are looking tired and don't appear to have been upgraded or maintained very well. Starting to find a number of issues that need addressing such as faulty bed lamps, door lock difficult to open and carpets are very stained

Location, value for money and Brighton train to best mode of transport and in spring and summer it would be accommodation of choice because of catching up with friends swimming at beach and fishing at jetty. Shopping at Glenelg and Marion shopping so close.
Could not work out taxi system for a friend and son to get back to hotel in North Adelaide after a Friday night late night experience a feel safe that she and her young son get back to hotel needs a lot improvement and more information to tourist such as buses to North Adelaide can be caught at bus stop w2 near good life gym area.

comfy bed, air conditioned, great shower with high pressure and lots of hot water, public but off-street parking available. close proximity to several good eateries just across the road and beach front.
having to use the outside stairs, a bugger when it was raining, internal, direct access to hotel areas would help.

Love this place. The location is exceptional. The staff were friendly. The pub was nice downstairs. Close proximity to a number of restaurants and a most spectacular breach. A short drive to everywhere. I cannot believe you can still get a place in a city at these prices. Very grateful. Have already booked another stay.
Nothing - if I was paying 5 star prices I'd poke a few holes (sure we could have done with an extra power point), but for what we paid, the room was exceptional. Having stayed here, I find the negative reviews are from people who want to pay a penny and shop in Chanel.

Excellent location, rooms were presented better than expected.
Check-in. I had booked this hotel based on location so that my tenant could check in prior to me arriving late at hotel, but I was required to be there, checking in, in person. In order for her to check in without me was a nightmare as I was not to arrive at the hotel much later. She had spent the previous night at the library and I wanted to make her comfortable and able to spend some personal time before I arrived. She was about to walk back to Marion shopping centre to wait for me, when I managed to tweak a few things on the booking and staff then allowed her to check in.

Staff were incredibly helpful, skilled, and friendly, even though they looked very busy. Mindful the hotel is vintage, and an SA classic :) so needs an upgrade in some parts - All the same, very comfy, cozy, loved the heater / cooler system & the 'Choyer' brand soap / shampoo and conditioner & the aurora coffee. Cleaning staff were so lovely & very helpful too :) Thank you again :) All the best 🤗
Room doesn't block a lot of outer noise, esp at night, being one with a pub which is a gambling area, this needs to be looked at.

Great location. I stayed in the Studio single and it was well maintained. There's a cleaner that comes everyday to clean the rooms, change the linen and replenish any tea/coffee/milk/sugar supplies needed. The food was delicious and for staying in the hotel you receive 10% off meals by showing your room key.
The only thing that could be better was having heating in the rooms as it was quite cold at night.

Excellent value, friendly and helpfull staff, excellent food at restaurant
The place is old - the bathroom could do with freshening, the toilet cistern didn't shut off properly - the wash basin would have been more useful with a proper surround, limited bench space in bedroom - but at the price it was understandable. There was no plug for the washbasin. The staff will correct this.
