It's only 45min away from Strathalbyn where we live but sitting on the balcony watching the sun set and rise feels like you're in the country far far away. We just love staying there. Love the breakfast package with our room booking too. Our meal on Friday night however was extremely disappointing. We paid $38 each for 2 steaks and they were the worst steaks we have ever had. Really very upset about that. One of the staff members while ordering our meal was extremely rude which made is feel very uncomfortable. We felt that uncomfortable ordering our meal that when the meals came out and were terrible we were too worried about going back to the bar to tell the staff about the poor meal.

Riverview balcony suite was gorgeous, brilliantly styled for maximum enjoyment of the view. Really clever, with bathroom sliding doors so one can set one open and shower enjoying the river view - or the train traffic. A lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the design. And then there's the pure comfort of the bed and the room. Oh, and the TV menu is a good as the quality of the image. Room service is bliss. The place is just ace.

Nescafe sachets as morning coffee. Ugh. Why? And why is there no brew coffee to be had? Softer bedside reading lights might be nice.

Excellent hotel. Clean, modern, spacious. With the best hotel pool we've ever seen. The restaurant room service was so good we literally ordered all our meals in. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating.

The only downfall would be the bed. And maybe a lamps would have been nice to have as another option instead of the bright strip lighting or the down lights. The mattress was a little sunken in places, and the pillows were very big. Perhaps a suggestion would be have 2 x big pillows and the option of 2 x smaller ones too, instead of all big. I ended up using the decor pillows as the other ones gave me a neck ache after the first night. It was a little uncomfortable to sleep, but apart from that, it was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

The whole experience was fantastic- from the well thought out design of the rooms to the fantastic team in the Cod bar. Simon and Stretch made us feel that welcome that we decided to stay another night. Exceptional meals, I take my hat off to the colourful pant wearing Chef who knows how to run a tight ship and a steak to die for, all meals we rated top shelf. The entire team including the cleaning staff are working well together. My only recommendation- don’t become complacent- look on top of your shower roses - look where people have already damaged walls and create sacrificial layers - align the feature infills on the walls - clean the floors better in the bathrooms- watch the feature wall paper where it’s lifting - all and all - we will be back and Thank you for an awesome STAY!

Very conveniently located, most comfortable stay ever. The shower is the best pressure, I actually didn’t want to get out of shower. The mini bar was well stocked and exceptional! The curtains was so good in room best black out curtains ever. Massive credit to Danielle check in lady for a quick check in process and being so so professional and polite and also Simon for keeping the best drinks flowing!

I paid to have room service breakfast delivered it arrived cold- But this was resolved by getting 2x Drink vouchers for the inconvenience of the breakfast.

I enjoyed the meals in the Restaurant/Bistro. A little inconsistent, though. My friend had a meal one night and I had a different meal. The following night we had the same meals, but I chose the one she had and she chose the one I had the night before! Vegetables were sparse the first night for her, but for me the following night, they were perfect. The chicken had far too much sauce the second night whereas mine was fine the first night. Difficult of course, to have the same chefs on all the time, but they should be trained to be consistent. It was all good, but one night a little better than the other.

The breakfast included was gd standard and sufficient.

We went to have dinner at the restaurant, as everyone raved abt the place. The seafood platter that everyone recommended, was terrible. The mullet being grilled, a test to how fresh the fish is, was the end tail bit, not even 2 cm thick and half the size of my palm. The tempura prawns, frozen ones, the batter was soft as well as prawns were mushy. The oysters were drown with sweet sauce. The chips cold and stale...my husband had the fillet, it was cooked properly but the grilled vegetables were cold, the steak was covered with the same sweet sauce as the oysters! It was really disappointing for a 4.5 star hotel to serve meals like that!

I love everything about this hotel including the first receptionist when I checked in, the receptionist when I checked out, not so much. the first receptionist was very helpful and friendly... the checked-out receptionist not as much.

everything, the room was fabulous, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and wonderful, the entire room service staff was magnificent, just love, love, love, love the whole experience. very happy with everything, except on the checkout time... I was so stressed out... to the bone...

The view. The balcony. The shower - superb. The central location, obviously. The quietness within the room - I did not hear any noise from within the hotel, or outside the hotel, except for the occasional freight train The friendliness of all staff members.

Very little! Maybe have a spare cotton blanket in one of the drawers - the quilt was too hot. The supplied blanket also a little too warm. By the 3rd night I got it right! The outdoor pool would have been great, but there was a very cool wind blowing, so no swim. Maybe I am a wuss.

The pool was cold for a heated pool. And the public can easily access it. As after a family of 6 told me they weren’t guests there. But knew where the towels were and told their kids to have a hot shower before heading home. They were missing teeth and actually a little scary as u couldn’t leave ur things. . So after we got out I went to the ground floor. U didn’t need a key to get to level 1. Nor did u need a key to access the pool. I think something needs to be done about this. Rooms could use a microwave cutlery and plates
