Location is excellent in the centre of a pretty town within an easy drive to wineries, beaches and other attractions of the Fleurieu Peninsula. The staff, particularly in the restaurant/bar area are friendly and efficient. The meals are good, although emphasis seems to be on size rather than quality (too big for us, need some smaller or "senior" options). The room we had is large and comfortable.

Housekeeping is a bit haphazard. We had to chase up the included continental breakfast, as it was not automatically provided. As mentioned above, there could be some smaller meal options in the restaurant.

We have stayed here before, so it was as comfortable, clean, quiet and convenient as we expected. The light breakfast was good (included in price and provided in room). This time we walked more around the historic town and gardens which are lovely. We had dinner in the hotel bistro and had the best roast lamb, so excellent meals again as they were the last time we stayed (about 12 months ago). Great to see the good standards are continuing! Thank you!

All good, we would stay here again. Onsite parking is very limited, but street parking seemed ok. We got a spot underneath the rooms.

I loved the service, kindness & friendliness I received from all staff, from the bar staff to the reception ladies. I liked that my room was spotless clean and tidy. I loved the plunger coffee provided in the room. I enjoyed my dinner, lamb shank pie & chips - delicious!

I'm splitting hairs here but I think the shower head in room 2 needs a clean on the inside as the water doesn't come out well. There is also door that guests let bang shut (I don't know which one) but it's quite loud from my room. It's not a room door, entrance door maybe? Maybe a pressure thing to slow the closing of the door so it doesn't bang shut could help? Bedside lamps for reading would be handy too.

We stayed here due to a wedding close by . We booked 3 rooms, Not a room that has 5 stars ,But did the job ,it was comfortable, bed was comfy, and room clean . Customer Service was 5 stars Samantha was quick to respond to small changes for me via email ,i appreciated this ,great customer service, friendly staff all round ,room was perfect for a 2 night stay , restaurant downstairs was great ,if U like a big ,tasty meal this is the place to eat .

Continental breakfast on our room was great. Comfortable bed, a big room and very clean. The room was quieter than we expected being a Saturday night at a pub! We were lucky to get a parking spot on site, as only 3 spaces available. They organised a booking for a table in the bistro and we had a lovely pub meal. The steak was good as was the roast of the day. It was busy in the bistro so we were glad reception suggested to book. We enjoyed our stay. The town is very historic with a lovely park, next time we will stay a bit longer to explore.

Not many car parks on site, but there seemed to be parking available out the back on the street.

Well maintained in a central location. Nice sized room. Cereal and toast included for breakfast. Restaurant downstairs was lovely. The lamb shank pie was a highlight.

Access was by stairs only and our rooms were outside. It was not an issue for us at all. It was hard to locate the entrance and reception, partly due to nearby road works. Clearer instructions on access would be handy. Staff were very helpful in directing us.

Very comfortable room, air conditioning worked well (and we stayed on a very cold night), breakfast provisions were left in the room, undercover carparking near the room, friendly and helpful staff, real wood fire in the dining room, bistro menu had traditional pub and slightly more upmarket options, all the food was delicious, convenient to all areas of Strathalbyn, useful tourism information brochures.

Only having a staircase to the room - it was awkward to take my suitcase up. There weren't any tissues in the too. A little confusion re room rate when I rang the property to see if it was cheaper to book with the hotel direct. I ended up paying $15 more than I needed to.

Rooms were spacious, unlike some hotels where everything is just big enough. Staff were very courteous, and even remembered upon checkout the reason for your visit. I liked that the two rooms (all rooms are upstairs) we had both had balconies. Granted mine was enclosed courtyard, but meant I could go outside for a smoke, without having to wend my way outside. Been in hotels where have to travel 14 stories down, through the lobby, out the door, down x yards etc. One other silly thing. The inroom kettle actually fits under the tap. (frequent travellers will probably know what I'm talking about.

Finding your way around the hotel is very confusing. Appreciate that it is probably Heritage listed, so probably not much can be done about that. Also the car park. Says limited carparking. There are a total of 4 spots - all under cover - however very narrow and reversing out onto street is not easy. Would suggest that future guests just go to free off street parking just up the road, and walk the 100m.

The parking behind the hotel was too small for my car. I had trouble driving in and out. The stairs

The staff were delightful and helpful, nothing seemed to be "interrupting" their time. The wonderful restaurant spread out in various rooms. Our room was very clean and comfy, and the condiments for a breakfast in the room were perfect, there was nothing left out. They had a diverse selection of toast, cereal, drinks and lots of it all. Absolutely great!!

The access to get to the room we had was a bit difficult, as walking up a stairs with suitcases always is. The parking was also very limited. Our room was quite dark.
