It was in many ways basic, but everything I needed and more. I have stayed at other hotels in the area for a similar price that had holes in the ceiling and flickering lamps - this place was affordable but perfect! Small, but there was a little kitchen area that I included not only a fridge and kettle, but also a stove! There was a double bed, but also a single bed that could be closed off into its own little private room. Also, very actually quiet, and a nice short walk to the SkyBus terminal.

Was definitely a building where people lived. That's fine, but I did feel a little conspicuous intruding, although I didn't see anyone.

We were three adults traveling together - Mum, Dad and adult son. We were upgraded on arrival to a two story apartment. Which was appreciated and gave our adult son his own space. It was plain but clean and comfy, had everything we needed. Great views from both levels. Extra pillows and blankets. Location was so central, was right on the tram line. Walking distance from Southern Cross Train Station and SkyBus Terminal. Kitchen facilities- everything you needed.

Would prefer blockout blinds on the lower level, bathroom would have been preferred on the lower level also.

This was our second stay in ten days at Arrow on Spencer. We were so pleased we had rebooked it for the second leg of our Melbourne holiday. We were really looking forward to coming back. The booking.com rating today is 7 but I think it is much better than 7. Immaculately clean, well equipped, comfortable, spacious accommodation in an excellent location. But the icing on the cake was the staff. Everyone was friendly but Joaquin was super friendly and helpful. He looked after us wonderfully on both our stays and every interaction with him was a pleasure. I'd stay here any time I was in Melbourne and would recommend it to other travellers without hesitation.

1. Abt 5 mins to Southern Cross Station n Skybus n Coles supermart. Just simply walkable all around. 2. Microwave n cooking stove complete with cutlery n microwable bowls n plates (x2) plus all trimmings of chop board, scissors n knives... 3. Well apponted layout with good use of space with table for 2 to dine, 2 seater b4 TV n even a writing table in bedroom 4. Bright lightings for the night n quiet enough for good sleep despite being next to a major road. 5. Easy access with simple card tapping. 6. Tram 30 just outside n police hq is diagonally across so very safe

1. Could not get wifi throughtout 4 nights' stay?!! Somehow network presence only showed when at reception but not in room. Reflected problem n was told IT would get in touch but no one did, nor after 2nd feedback. 2.Shower door is thin n filmsy yet can get stuck so needs some firm tugging to open. Seemed somewhat precarious. Afraid it might shatter. 3. Not 'green'? Daily changing/adding of towels even though had informed front desk no need. Had a nice pile up of clean towels which i placed in wardrobe. 4.No provision card to hang out to request no disturbance or otherwise.

The amount of space you get for the price of these rooms is incredible. A one bedroom apartment had no less than two available table spaces, three chairs, and a couch as well as the bed. There's also a small fridge, a microwave and a cooktop with crockery and cutlery available. Wifi is fast and easy to connect, and powerpoints are everywhere. The bed is surprisingly comfortable and it's a great room for spreading out in.

The procedure for checking in after hours is somewhat confusing and it appears that not even the staff know exactly how it operates. I received multiple different responses to my query about checking in after hours with different information. In the end, my card was charged and the key left in a lockbox, with clear instructions on how to get in, but it all seemed a little confused, particularly given I was coming in on the train with a lack of signal for most of the trip.

Our stay was great! The staff were really accommodating with a couple of questions we had about the property access etc (my mother uses a wheelchair and is on oxygen) and also in regards to allowing us to have a medical need delivered and collected from them pre and post arrival and departure. The room was as advertised and was quite comfortable overall. It actually exceeded my expectations.

The AC wasn't working well at all and the small separated room was really quite stuffy as a result (there is also no fans). Also, one hour before checkout, a staff member opened the door without knocking and was asking us about when we were checking out - thankfully I had just finished dressing as he opened the door - this was quite unprofessional and unnecessary.

Regularly stay in this hotel when visiting Melbourne but particularly liked the room we had this time, with its spiral staircase and large balcony. Location is great (super convenient for Skybus) and it's only a short walk to Spencer Outlet Centre, Coles and lots of eateries. Trams right outside the front door. Also really handy after seeing a show at Her Majesty's Theatre, as you just catch the tram straight down Latrobe Street. Lady at reception is pleasant. Have never had any issues here and I would estimate we've stayed there at least 10 times. Very good accommodation at this price point. (Obviously you can't compare it to a 5 star hotel ... there's a price difference for a reason).

I'd love to see the walls repainted and some new carpet but it's not a huge issue. For anyone looking for good budget accommodation, I do recommend this hotel.

The location was good enough :) we are happy. We had to walk a few blocks to access the correct trams to get us where we wanted to be within the CBD. The room was very clean and tidy. We liked it and it's great value for money. The bed was very comfortable and the extra blanket in the cupboard was very useful. Thanks.

It wasn't 100% soundproof. We found the city street (Spencer Street) noise was slightly permeating through the walls. We could hear people talking and trams + cars whilst we were asleep. But no big deal, we still had enough rest. Thank you.

Amazing location - Free Tram Line right outside - everything at your fingertips! Staff were wonderful. They accommodated us without a problem for an early check-in because the room was ready - nothing was too hard for them. Room had no view, however with no view also comes less noise - so if you are wanting a wee bit of peace and quiet from the outside world - we were room 313 and it faced a quiet alley.

We found the noise from the toilet which backs on to the single bedroom disturbs the person. Do not get tempted to use the laundry facilities - go around the block (takes 3 mins walking) and go and use the laundromat.
