Our king size bed was comfortable, we had an abundance of towels and pillows. Soaps supplied was lovely, didn't even use my own.

The location of this hotel was perfect coming off the train. Very reasonable price per night being it was a long weekend. Staff were very polite and welcoming, the owner was great and was always up for a chat. Room was comfortable and had basic tea and coffee facilities in the room. Bed was comfy and bathroom was a reasonable size with good water pressure in the shower. I booked for 2 nights but on the morning of check out decided i wanted to extens my stay by another night. This was not a problem at all and was taken care of quickly and easily.

I stayed on a long weekend so was quite noisey on thw Saturday night from the street level with a few licenses venues close by. Noise blocking windows would probably fix this a little, other than that nothing else was a problem.

I have stayed here before: rooms are smallish but fine for a short stay. The owners are putting a lot of TLC into the place (including fresh paintwork and a new elevator, still in its delivery wrap) and improvements are noticeable. 24 hour Reception is good (and unusual at this price) , breakfast was good value, bed comfy and small bathroom was fine. Would be happy to stay again. Surrounded by many new food options and growing Korean presence. 10 minutes’ walk from Southern Cross; 5 from Flagstaff station and in the free tram zone, so it’s easy to get to the sights.

Reception staff were variable. Error at time of checkin was sorted only when I checked out. Room serviced on one of 4 days there. Mostly cheerful and helpful staff though. Ignore Melbourne residents advice not to stay in King St: it was fine!

The other staff members were polite, friendly, and helpful, breakfast was good value at $12 a person in hotel Sophia's. We enjoyed our stay, you have a Korean BBQ buffet all you can eat across the road from the hotel, if you don't want along cue going there make sure you arrive around 4.30 or 5 pm, there is a time frame of 90 minutes to get what you want and if you exceed by 10 minutes you pay an extra $5 per person

When we first arrived, there was one of the staff members who was busy talking on the mobile phone inside away from reception, my adult son dinged the bell for check in at 2 pm and she continued with her own conversation, so we tapped the bell two more times and she came out with a bit of annoyance in her voice, can you wait l am on a call, by this time there were 5 more people behind us waiting to check in. I think that they should be on the ready when they have guests arriving for check-in or have another staff member to attend the check-in .

The location is great and they were very kind to let me leave my luggage until checkin time and after checkout time. It is very close to the train station, so it was perfect for me that was traveling by train. The value for cost was very good, I stayed only 1 night and it was comfortable and clean.

The room is noisy, so I could hear the room next to mine very loud when they arrived late in the night. The reception is not 24h and we need to ring when they are not there, which sometimes took a while to open the door, but nothing very critical. It could be improved by allowing the access with the card.

FANTASTIC HOTEL, ABSOLUTELY STAYING WITH THEM AGAIN, and this is coming from a rather picky budget traveller. Where shall I start...spotless clean and I mean it, shower was perfection (pressure, temp, abundance), room was spacious and had everything necessary, bed was a smooth and silky cloud- literally, staff (owners which gives it even more merit, hospitality industry is hard) were the friendliest and one could see all the efforts they made to maintain the place and keep it as good as possible, location wise it is unbeatable, shall I go on? Oh, yeah, price wise, they could be charging a lot more, value for money is there! Highly recommended, I wish there were more hotels like this. Never had an issue with booking, or payment, or anything. Lift was just renovated which was brilliant, and we could see owners were slowly but surely renovating it all, kudos!!!

Picked this spot for a long weekend for a concert, thr location was great, only a 10-15 minute walk to city restaurants and shopping, another 10mins and you're at the Yarra. The staff were really helpful and friendly, there were renovations going on so the staff had to stay up to let guests back in in the evenings but they were always ready at the door with a smile 😃 room was comfy with large bathroom, little fridge and TV, very comfy bed. Paul at the front desk was lovely and made us feel very welcome.

Would have been great if the dining section had been open (renovations) to get breakfast or dinner if we didn't feel like walking into town but I'm sure that will be ready for us on our next trip.

Great location. Close to Southern Cross station, Flagstaff and all the necessary things to have a good time in the city. We went clubbing and code was a short walk away so location is a huge plus!

Rooms were small and gets a bit noisy throughout the night. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely homey and great value if you're just looking for a comfortable place to sleep at night after a full day. But don't expect a modernistic room with a tub in the bathroom. Can hear cars at night, and we could have definitely used some cold water bottles in the fridge. But I think it's still a good stay and they're trying their best..

The location is wonderful ver easy walk from train station. The room was way more spacious than a usual hotel/motel room and the king size bed was so comfortable that l had problems getting out of it. I had read reviews after booking and was concerned about what it was like cos the reviews weren't so good but the staff are lovely and the reason why no one at reception all the time is because they are so short staffed and have to do double cleans of rooms due to covid is protocol. It was also sad that the restaurant not open due to constant lack of staff problems, if anyone is genuinely looking for work I'd recommend you try here cos we would love to come back and enjoy the restaurant as well

The hotel is old and it is in a very busy, large nightlife area of Melbourne so this leads to a lot of night time noise. I feel this is no fault of the hotel, it is just the reality of the location it is in. If I wanted a quiet, relaxing stay I would not select this location in Melbourne but if I wanted the nightlife & city buzz this is a good stay with a clean room at a very affordable price.
