It was my second time to book in this hotel so I already knew what I was going to receive. I enjoyed my stay there, the bed is comfy and the toilet was great to use. I also enjoyed the free access to the kitchen. This hotel would always be one of the better options when I plan another stay in Melbourne.

None that is pretty serious. I guess the distance of my room and the elevator, hahaha. I think one concern that I have was the housekeeping coming in to my room to sort things out nice and clean. I forgot to request at main desk to leave my room be but anyway, I appreciate that the bed was made and the trash was taken out. I did not like the Melbourne weather actually but that is not something the hotel can control, LOL!

The 24 hour staff at reception was such a nice touch. I booked and arrived very late at night so was great being greeted by friendly staff. It felt like a bit of a college campus bc everything was so alive and happening. I loved getting a herbal tea late one night when I got back in. The staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful. Absolutely exceeded expecation.

My room (302) had paper thin walls unlike anywhere I had ever been to, ever. Unfortunately that meant I got woken up twice - once by the lets say, "passionate encounters" happening right next door. I heard way way way too much from both involved. yuck. Also, at 5am maybe the same couple, had to leave and so were very loudly chattering and woke me up. I banged on the wall and they took their farewell outside, but were so loud Im sure they woke everyoen up with their goodbyes and laughter at 5am.

I stayed for three nights (in July 2024) in a room type termed “One of a Kind”. The queen bed was super comfortable. I could stay there and sleep for hours. Although the room for small, it was ideal size for what I needed, the price I paid, and it ideal for my stay. The room and hotel in general were extremely clean. From inside the room, it was also quiet; I could not hear any noise through the walls or outside. The common spaces: kitchen, reception, sitting areas were clean and comfortable. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, although I did not require it (as my phone had plenty data). They also have a late check out until 11:00hr, although I was up early on my last day. Within my time there, I interacted with 6 different staff members. Each one was approachable. The hotel is located within walking distance to many tram lines that will take you to Melbourne CBD and St Kilda (20-30mins ride) and other locations. Located to bars, restaurants and close to groceries such as Coles and Woolworths.

The stay was lovely, Room was awesome, Very very clean,Staff were nice,We stayed 3 nights,Security is fantastic, requiring a Security card, for entrance,to lifts & rooms!2 seperate rooms & 1 shared kitchenette, plates,cutlery, cups,etc included 😀 Microwave in kitchenette (,No kettle or Toaster)Next time I will take our own kettle, although, they provided 1 on request 😊,We will be returning, to room 251,We loved it,The only down fall,was no ashtrays,outside for us smokers,Apart from that,We WILL BE RETURNING, RATING 10/10

Gorgeous hotel, well decorated in a very modern, Melbourne style. We had a double room, which was surprising (in a good way) as I was expecting to all be in one. This meant plenty of space for a family of 4, although the rooms are compact. Small outdoor space off our room was nice to sit and have a glass on a warm winter evening. Great open space at reception with TV and desks and tables to work or read at. Next door to a fantastic cafe, a few minutes from the tram and near many great Collingwood and Fitzroy restaurants. Staff were excellent, charming and helpful and patient with my kids hanging around watching the Olympics! We only stayed one night as we were just popping in to the city to see some shows, but would highly recommend Lyf.

Nothing really, it's a great spot and well priced particularly as many of the city hotels were 400+ on this night.

Rooms/layout very odd,for $130 p/night hotel room, should/could have been a lot,lot bigger!!.Claustrophobic- narrow entry + actual room Tiny,bed at end hard up against window, No wardrobe or storage ,Bathroom good, rest of room way too small,Everything New, Bed extremely comfortable, hotel foyer,amenities great , staff very nice and location great, but overall with my room being,a So called “double”, but in fact a glorified “closet”

Very clean. Comfy bed. Great shared facilities. Location is absolutely wonderful with easy access to the city and all that Smith Street has to offer. Friendly welcome.

So... the vibe of a place is important to me, particularly when I'm on my own and travelling for business. To me, the welcome at the 'reception desk' felt over enthusiastic to the point of being an affectation. Didn't get a sense of authentic welcome. Like the staff (all quite young and vibrant) had been told to be happy and upbeat whether they felt like it or not. First thing in the morning I need a cuppa and DO NOT feel like walking through the halls to find hot water. And they used my photo ID to enter my name in the system... yet still got my name wrong! Little things, true, and subjective, all of them

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. The room is small but matches perfectly with the description but the highlight of the room... the bed! it is very very comfy, good thing there is a lot to do and see in Collingwood otherwise it would have been difficult to get out of bed :-)! The location is quiet compared to the CBD but it's walking distance so you can get the best of both worlds. Around the hotel are also a lot of good bars, restaurants, shops, ...

Nothing, we would definitely recommend staying in this area and at LYF!

Loved how well everything was set up here, friendly staff, super helpful. The free-to-use locker facility was really handy to pop my stuff there for the day before and after check-in and after check-outs. For the price you pay it’s a great deal for the location and the facilities. Despite being mainly accessible by Tram 86 and obviously by car, it was super easy to get to and only 15mins on the tram to the city. Super clean and bonus points for being a little modern too. The bed was really comfy and great natural light in the bedroom. Super keen to come back again!

The fog screen in the bathroom is a little odd choice as you can see the shape of the person showering or even just going to the loo?! Other than that it’s pretty minor.

EVERYTHING! This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, everyday making us free coffee and even provided free hot cross buns over Easter weekend! The rooms were super clean and the bed was like a cloud. Slept so well every single night. Finally, the kitchen - just wow! Huge kitchen which is set up like 5 individual kitchen stations, it is so well equipped and has so much space. It is so clean, actually makes you want to cook in there. Everyone sticks to the guidelines of how to keep it nice for other guests and cleans up after themselves. I am so glad we stayed here. Would 100% stay again, wish we could rate it 1000/10 it is so worth it. Shame there isnt more of these hotels across Australia!
