My room was upgraded so I had a brand new room, freshly painted, immaculate. I had a microwave, toaster, jug, fridge. TV had Netflix.

Overall, the property is very old, rundown and dilapidated (but I was given an excellent new room.) Owner called me and asked me to delay my arrival and pay cash because credit card facility wasn’t working. I had to find ATM. When I arrived I was told I could use my card after all. That’s when they upgraded my room. The lady at the information centre at the Water Wheel was very negative about the property and told me not to stay there.

The lodge is located under 5mins drive from town. It has an old world charm but the room looks refurbished, has basic necessities and clean. We enjoyed the fire place so much, which the owners were kind enough to start. Just note that the place does not have a card terminal installed yet so cash is their preferred method of payment though they offer payment transfers as well.

It would be nice to have a curtain cover the clear louvered window in the bathrooms as it’s not frosted. Also note that the walls are thin and you can hear the guests outside. These comments really didn’t bothered us so much though.

Our accommodation had everything we needed as a party of 4. Fully equipped kitchen, bicycle storage, nice hot shower, and comfy beds, just a short walk into town.

The bathroom/toilet was situated a little oddly, like an ensuite in one of the bedrooms, meaning that guests in the other bedroom needed to wander through it to get to the toilet in the middle of the night. But it’s no big deal for a short stay.

Room was a little bit small but comfortable and clean, bed was comfortable with enough blanket for warmth. Website says room 19 didn't have a microwave but it did, if only i had known earlier i would have prepared differently. The common lounge area was lovely and cosy, old world charm.

The billiard table would have been great if we could have played. The tips of the cues were all worn out. During our stay there were some renovations going on with building materials scattered about. It would be good to see this all finished and the gardens spruced up.

Good location, nice little surroundings with a view of the mountains, very close to shops and easy to find, beds comfortable, and room was spacious

The water pressure in the shower was low to non existant, the toilet when flushed was very loud The window was also not able to be opened so fresh air from outside wasnt possible unless the door was left open

Great location: close to town centre, easy walking distance to IGA, Warburton shops and the Yarra River. Location was in quiet street too, which we really liked. Great shower, comfy beds, clean linen, a heater in every room, which was so important due to the cold weather. We had the deluxe family room which was a fabulous size and had spacious, modern kitchen facilities and lounge. Do be aware though that this is an old school lodge - it’s not a modern, fancy place but we really like that. You didn’t feel worried about putting cups on tables which were asked not to do in previous accommodation!

We’d love to see a bit more maintenance in the common areas around the lodge, but understand that’s probably been hard due to the pandemic. Also recommend a pot plant or two in the lounge area of the deluxe family room.

Lovely area and view. Room adequate, bed comfortably and clean.

Steps were steep for elderly to carry up luggage The kettle was in the top shelf of a cupboard and would be difficult to get if you were short. Sitting up in bed, as there was no bedhead, the bed kept sliding forward until I jammed the two rugs under the wheels at the foot of the bed. NO physical contact with staff.

Friendly Alan and Amy called to check when I was arriving. Warm log fire in the lounge area. Maps and travel advice in rooms and lobby. Good that the lobby and passage lights turned off at 10.30 pm. Lovely warm showers fluffy towels and soaps and gels and shampoo.Lovely trees with native birds.

Hook on the wall for the towel was missing in the bathroom, and on the first floor sat night some foot traffic by guests. Parking bays could be marked at the front. Lawns and facilities not used. Dining close walk from the lodge

Great location, close to town. The owners were lovely & very welcoming. It was a budget room as described, but the room was super clean with funky little styling touches. The bed was comfortable, fresh & warm. Big soft towels!

Only a very small thing, there was a toaster but no plates.to put food on.

The place was clean, convenient and very peaceful. Facilities were far better than I expected.

The checkout process. There's a sign that says "CHECKOUT ONLY AT 10 AM". Only after I stepped out did I see the key return mailbox. Needs more clear instructions for the checkout process.
