Crown Metropol Perth

The overall facilities were of an anticipated standard, room comfortable and well-appointed meeting our expectations.

Although staff were polite and professional, most went about their tasks in what can be best described as "robotic". Nearly every time we interacted with staff, it required deeper explanation to get it right, Our reservation for the hotel was "lost" in the system, likewise the reservation at Silks, was not seamless. Ordering coffee and cake required deeper explanation, a request for a takeout coffee carrier - (whilst I finally got one) - repeating the request (and declining the offer of a china plate and knife and fork for the first effort.

Comfy bed, pillows Excellent, nice break away from normal everyday life. No cooking, no housework, no business on computer, no phones, love the soak in the bath is great for relaxing, i went to Crown ball i had a ball, great cocktails by the pool area great place to unwind for Christmas, i could not be bothered with family this year, it was my year. sick of been dictated too life is too short. everyone can f___K off last year. It was the best. Breakfast was amazing. Chef and kitchen staff to pull the amazing variety of combination of delicious, yummy foods each morning pretty impressive. The room was very clean and comfortable. Looks like carpets have been changed since our previous stay which was nice as they were getting dated. Staff were friendly and facilities were good. Loved the water slides and shallow areas for the little ones to play in.

The kids activity room was poor. We couldn’t get the game machines to work and there wasn’t anything in there really… they have the space to make it great so hopefully they do some updating. Also would have been nice to have some healthier options on the pool food menu like sandwiches.

My grandaughter Harper aged 6 adores Crown Metropol and this visit used the water slide. This was the highlight and in the time we stayed went up and down the slides 104 times. We arrived at 11.10 and was offered a room upgrade at cost and the room was ready immediately which was a wonderful surprise. It helped that the weather was perfect pool weather.

At checkout I was told that I needed to pay for a in room meal was charged to my room!!. I was flabbergasted as I payed cash to all the venues we used and I am now very wary of staff not being honest. I didn't sign for the meal and the fact I gave her a monetary tip hurts. This has really upset me as I work hard all year to take my Grandaughter to a show and stay. I am awaiting your investigation.

The pool area is amazing!

You need to be careful when booking that you specify your room if you want one with a descent view. Our first room was a view of the carpark, thankfully the duty manager on at the time went above and beyond when we expressed our disappointment to move us to a room with a view of the city and pool area which was so much better. I'm so grateful to her! I also found that other guests can be very rude, some were heading to the pool area in the early hours of the morning to hold pool chairs.

The heated pool was a winner and my 4 yr old granddaughter loved swimming. I could relax in the spa with her as there wasn't a No children policy which some big hotels have. The pool staff were more than helpful bringing us dry towels to use.

I would have loved to have had breakfast in the atrium but refused to pay that much for my granddaughter as she would have just picked at the food. We both ended up at the food court having a Maccas breakfast as it was a more affordable option.

Our room was fantastic with a really nice view. We absolutely love the atmosphere of the lobby, piano and a beautifully voiced singer.

When we checked in my wife and I weren’t received with the standard formalities “ Good afternoon Sir/Madam” like the people checking in next to us we’re, we just received a hello. Our receptionist was also very hard to understand, very soft spoken and broken English. We were also quite disappointed when ordering room service in the evening 9:00pm the person taking our order was very rude and abrupt, to the point where they literally pushed us off the phone call, our order was also missing 1 of the 2 meals we had ordered when it was delivered to our room.

Atrium for dinner and also breakfast exceeded our expectations. Def value for money. Room was a pleasant surprise and bed was so so comfortable. Would def highly recommend .Look fwd to another stay in the very near future. Staff excellent and very welcoming such a pleasure to converse with.

very minor - noticed wallpaper lifting and peeling off wall adjacent to left hand side of bed (cosmetic only -needs to be reglued). Also no floor mat for shower. Overall stay was excellent. Would certainly highly recommend and look forward to another stay in the near future.

The room was really nice although the beds would have been better as queen size at least. Everything else about the room and the facilities were wonderful. The staff checking in and out and getting our bags sorted we’re all exceptional

The pool area. The pools were freezing. I know that odd cos it’s a pool but just the chill taken out would make all the difference at that time of the year. The pool staff at the slides and the pool bar were also not very friendly. They kept shutting the pool slides down and we had to keep asking for them to be reopened. All small stuff but still it was not what I expected at the Crown. Still didn’t stop us from having a wonderful stay.

Great restaurants

Security stopped me returning to our room with a nightcap, citing some ridiculous and inconsistent rule about "we can't monitor how much you've drunk in your room" which is pathetic and makes no sense. So, claiming to be all about "responsible drinking" I then had to stand there and drink my wife AND my drinks before returning to the room (ie - more alcohol than I wanted) where I could then order more drinks on room service. Ridiculous!!!
