Hotel Schrannenhof

We were pleasantly surprised to see how nice and cozy this hotel really is. Location is perfect for short trips to Viena ( bus station at the entrance and train station at 2 min walk distance. Also there are restaurants, supermarkets and ice cream shops really close. Room was huge with plenty of space for clothes and luggage. Bathroom was also very big and clean. Wi-Fi quality was good. We were always greeted by hotel staff with a smile on breakfast which was delicious( especially those small sausages). The car was safe in hotel inside yard where we could also relax under the trees on benches.

Nothing to complain.

Great location, right across from bus and train stations, very good breakfast, nice rooms, but the best was the friendly assistance about transportation into Vienna and helpful hints about what to see in town, not just the typical tourist sites. It takes 30 to 40 minutes into the center of Vienna, but public transportations is cheap, punctual and always available within a few minutes. Klosterneuburg itself is also worth a visit. We will never stay in Vienna downtown anymore on future visits, no more stress driving into town and paying for expensive parking.

The location was perfect for us, because it is right across the street from the train station, and the buses were in front of our building, making it easy to get everywhere using public transportation. I thought all this might make our room noisy, but because the room has air conditioning, we didn't open the windows, so we didn't hear a thing! There are so many things to like about Schrannenhof, I don't know where to begin, so I'll just list everything without being too gushy: the staff and the owners were always gracious and kind (whoops! I just can't stifle my enthusiasm.); the building itself is historically interesting and I loved the old-world architecture, the design and the decor which all provided for a welcoming and relaxing experience. Last but not least, the breakfast buffet was a visual and delicious feast! Stunning! The variety was incomparable anywhere, and the breakfast nook is traditional Austrian-style. (And, by the way, don't miss a tour of Stift Klosterneuburg, which is about 12 minutes away by foot.)

The only thing that we thought could be improved was the internet connection. It's pretty unreliable.

Family run hotel in a old house with charming spirit. Owners are very friendly and helpful, speaking perfect English. Breakfast was very good, fresh food, many options for everyone, always fresh fruits and vegetable. Backyard of the house feels bit like in Italy - enclosed, with trees, many flowers, running water and small details and decorations, relaxing.

Access to the hotel is a bit difficult due to parking lot and bus station located in front of hotel and can be easily missed especially when you follow navigation. Parking is awaylable in backyard of the hotel, but might be difficult to fit in if you have really big car (size of Skoda Superb combi just ok) Due to old house rooms are a bit small mainly for overnight sleeping, but as there is attractive surrounding and about 12 km to Vienna it is not expected you stay whole day in the hotel room.

The staff was very welcoming, attentive and helpful and the hotel had charm. Breakfast was excellent, and even though it was a buffet the staff continually checked that everything was in order and took a personal interest in the guests. The coffee and service were very good. Free parking was available at the rear of the hotel. Access to Vienna couldn't have been easier. The bus leave from outside the hotel and the train station is across the road. Highly recommended, especially if you are visiting Vienna.

Nothing to dislike.

The building is very interesting. It is very close to Danube bike trail, which was very convenient for us. The only small inconvenience is the bus station located just in front, however, with closed windows, there was practically no noise in our room. The hotel staff was very helpfull and the breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean. Overall it was a great experience.

The breakfast was varied and plentiful and proved a relaxing experience at the start of the day. It was useful to have flexibility over the timing for breakfast.

Replenishment of tea, coffee and biscuits would have been useful. For a short stay we did not want to buy these items in as difficult to buy in small quantities

Super lovely and homely hotel with an amazing local hospitality and experience. The hotel, room, garden and everything is beautiful. Lovely people of the property made my stay for my exam super comfortable and meaningful. Fantastic breakfast too! Super tasty and eat all you can in a beautiful homely dining room or garden if you prefer. An icon of this peaceful town in my opinion!

Nothing! Its perfect!

Breakfast was exceptional. It had a wide variety of traditional dishes, with a flair for the local Austrian dishes. My favorite meal of the day.

The bed was a little harder than that to which I was used. Maybe a mattress topper could have helped. Nevertheless, I slept well, and the room was nice and warm.

Would stay here again for the breakfast alone. Traditional breakfast and home made where possible, I looked forward to it every morning. Weather was hot but the room was cool as it was built to cope with the range of temperatures. Hotel is beside the train station making Vienna easily accessible.

Room was smaller than I am use to.
