Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof

I liked that the hotel room was very clean. The bathroom was clean and had all the essentials, including hair dryer. There was an electric kettle in the room as well as some tea and coffee. There were water bottles left for us. Bedding and towels were also clean. Both the double bed and the sofa bed were comfortable. We didn't have our breakfast included in the room price, but we paid for it separately €25 per person, and our kids ate for free. The food was very tasty and there were many options available. Variety of choices - from cereal and yoghurt to sausages, bacon, and eggs. Freshly made smoothies and freshly squeezed juice. The coffee was to my taste. My son has food allergies, and the kitchen staff were able to prepare some food suitable for him. Also, they were able to answer all my questions regarding the food ingredients. Next to the restaurant there is a play area, so we could finish our breakfast in peace while the kids were playing. There was public parking with plenty of car spaces. It costs €25 per day. There is great transport near the hotel. There are trams and trains etc. within 2 minutes walk from the hotel. We took the tram to the central part of Vienna, and it took about 20 minutes to get there.

It would have been nice to have slippers in the room for each of the guests.

1. Restaurant menu is very limited, many meals are warmed up and require no special culinary expertise. (Novotel Valance Sud is operating a great restaurant concept called 'Fresh', worth emulating). 2. Hotel charges a 'stealth surcharge' of 50 euros a night to cover damage to room and mini-bar use. Thus, 350 euros extra on top of the room price for a week's stay. The check-in staff failed to say this when they reserved the total amount using the credit card. Policy is excessive. 3. Teething problems with scanning International COVID Certificates (DCC). 4. Inexperienced bar staff. 5. Apple computer in Business Centre difficult to operate without assistance.

1.The position of the hotel is fantastic! Across the hotel is main train station with many shops, restaurants and most important metro ( with red line U1 you have only 3 stops to the Stefan's platz and city center) 2.The room is very quiet even though the hotel is surrounded by different traffic 3. Family room is too small as well as side bed

Everything about the hotel is super. The location is hard to beat, 2 minutes walk to the station where there are trains every 30-60 minutes and can take you everywhere. The room is not as spacious as shown in the picture, but enough for us (2 adults and 1 toddler). The room is super clean, toiletries are not provided by default but you can always request for anything you want, also, 5 mins walking will take you to the supermarket, so you can but anything there as well. The bed is kind of small for us, so it is a little bit uncomfortable. However, overall, the room is great value for money. Breakfast is not many options, my daughter was a bit sad that there is no pancakes or waffles, but she loves other warm dishes, so it is great as well.

The hotel is ideally located right next to the train, bus, metro and tram stations. A great advantage is the sensational view from the 19th floor to the whole of Vienna. The gym and sauna are very cozy. The rooms are soundproofed. Breakfasts are varied, though expensive. The robot that helps to keep breakfast tidy is a big attraction for children. There is a children's playroom next to the breakfast room, which is very helpful. The hotel cares about ecology, room cards are wooden, and at breakfast products in plastic packaging, such as yogurt or butter, have been eliminated. The staff is nice.

On the first day of our stay there was no mineral water, tea or coffee in our room. At first we thought that the hotel does not provide them, but to our surprise they appeared on the second day of stay. Since there is no phone in the room, we could not quickly check why this happened. The staff at the reception could not determine for a very long time whether we paid for breakfast or not (and we did). It was a very unnecessary waste of time.

The location is 5 minutes walk from Vienna Hbf station which is served by trains from the airport every 30 minutes. The room was clean with adequate space. The fridge, wardrobe, and suitcase stand were all raised 30 cm from the floor giving additional space for shoes etc. There is a D Tram stop nearby. The room was quiet and relaxing.

The mattress was a little soft, which I noticed as I had a bad back. The door to the shower/toilet was in effect a large double-sided mirror which had to be either closed or fastened back. The toilet was not separate from the shower/basin. There was not a single English-language film available on the TV.

Extremely spacious and well kept room and really really quiet, could not hear a thing either from the street, or the next rooms or the cleaning ladies or of slamming doors, problems present in many hotels. We had the best sleep ever over there and felt really relaxed and calm 2. The suite has one bathroom plus a WC, detail not quite clear on the hotel's description 3. Wireless was spotless 4. Minibar is free to use with daily replenish 5. Toiletries offered are branded (Rituals) 6. The location is just perfect (across the central train station with many eateries around plus a grocery store open on Sundays as well.) 7. In general we felt that every request we had was met by the staff 100% and we feel grateful on that

In one case the cleaning lady got in our room while we were still in, plus that on our last day while we were still packing for the checkout she knocked our door at 8:30, not a very thoughtful case to be honest. They seem a bit disorganized on the housekeeping schedule, but other than that we had no complains whatsoever.

I liked everything in this hotel. Especially the staff. Very very very clean rooms and the hotel itself is clean. Staff is always ready and available to assist you. I came in with two of my kids and I was surprised they had an internal playroom for kids and it was very clean and neat. Parking was very convenient for a cost of 25 euros with the hotel discount. The location is amazing! There is a train station/ underground right across the street of the hotel. The station has tons of restaurants and groceries and also DM pharmacy. I will definitely stay with this hotel when I visit Vienna again.

Location is right next to the Vienna main train station which is very helpful if you are coming by train or travelling to further destinations by train.

Facilities and staff service could be improved. The USB plug for charging phones wasn't working in our room. Hence we asked for a adaptor from the hotel reception, but they asked to pay for the same. This shouldn't be the case as USB plug not working in our room wasn't our fault and hence we requested for the adaptor as a work around so that we could charge our phones. We expected the adaptor to be provided as complementary.

A very ergonomic hotel thought from the organization of the perfect room for business trips at a decent price (big enough desk, a sofa, a comfortable bed, very clean), very varied breakfast, for all tastes, close enough to the center, with good restaurants in the vicinity, with a park for jogging, across the street from the train station without this last detail influencing the level of comfortable silence, a restaurant big enough to never be crowded, and for those traveling with children, a playroom next to the restaurant. A waiting area with a very large with a bar and very well and aesthetically arranged.
