It's in a beautiful setting around 5km outside of Bruges. To get into Bruges, we caught a bus, near enough just outside of the hotel entrance, then grabbed a taxi back as it was around 11 pm. (24 euros) It was just an overnight stop for us to have a nice afternoon/evening in Bruges before coming back to the UK. It was perfect. The breakfast was amazing, with warm, crusty bread rolls, eggs and bacon, and fruit. Then, we had a little bit of time and took our small dog for a walk around the grounds. There had been a wedding the day we arrived and a Christening the day we left. It was lovely to see how beautiful it was made amongst the grounds itself. The hotel itself was a little dated, but for what we needed, it was perfect.

Historic building tick....including creaky staircase, antique furniture, fabulous artwork. Our room had an incredible view of the lake including fountain and swan! Fabulous gardens. And a 5* breakfast, one of the best I have ever had! Location is good if you prefer to be out of town in a green/forested suburb, also has free parking. However be aware its location is not walkable into historic Bruges city centre.

Unfortunately room 11 is in need of refurbishment....did not like the moldy blinds, stained carpet, outdated toilet, small room....first impression was not very good. However the view from the room more than compensated, wow!

Breakfast was very nice, variety of food, good coffee, staff friendly at breakfast and helpful when asked for hot milk. The room was clean, basic facilities in the room, clean beddings, comfortable mattress, water refilled and towels replaced every day.

We needed a small shelf attached to the shower rail as nothing to put the products on during the shower, little hanger for towels as well.

Location was very nice, and its one of the best value hotels around i believe. Breakfast was also better than expected. Our rooms had the view towards the back of the hotel, which shows the park, really beautiful.

The rooms themselves were standard, as standard can be, and a bit small. But this is to be expected for te price. Reception also is not there 24/7. They tell you this, and this wasnt a problem for us

The view out of a room was fantastic! The breakfast was very good, a lot of fresh choices, also fresh fruit. Bed was comfortable. We were visiting by bikes and there is bike lane to the center of Brugge (15-20 min). Staff was nice. We could check in after 19.00 (around 220.00). I would recomend a stay here.

It would be nice to add some hangers for towels etc. in the bathroom.

Absolutely stunning venue - almost 'castle-like' set in the most magnificent gardens. There was a wedding/reception in the grounds the day we were there and it added to the charm of our stay. Room was wonderful although I was concerned about the depth of the window - I would have appreciated some sort of safety rail as the window sill was knee height. Breakfast could only be described as a 'culinary experience' - amazing.

We would have appreciated it if a paper map of Bruges had been available at reception.

It is a chateau ... splendid building of last century with a gorgeous park. The staff and the owner of the hotel are very nice and always helpful with any demands.

The Maalsesteenweg is a busy avenue ... there is traffic day and night ... and it was quite a warm day ... we tried to sleep with the window open ... not possible. I give you a tip ... ask a room with view on the garden ... but everybody would love to have a view on the garden ... sometimes you might be happy with what you get !!

The location was so close to the centre, only a ten minute drive. Perfect for our young family as the children had space to play and run around. The children loved the lake and football goals.

I can see it being a very busy place on weekends when they have weddings but it was perfect for our mid week stay.

The architecture, the location...,amazing view from our Room! We had a Big Room with extra view, nice walk in shower! Everything was great!

The Staff, was not so kind, because they had a Wedding at the Hotel that day so they didn’t took time for us. Breakfast was ok,but not so special as the other comments than I already had read.

Lovely environment and personell. A very gorgeous garden and quiet area a little outside town. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Every day room was cleaned and bathroom towels renewed. Breakfast was great. Bell at reception is indeed very loud, but this was mentioned in reviews I saw already, and didn't bother us. It was actually an old fashioned sound which we thought was fun.

Shower didn't give hot water 1 day. The other days were fine. Some of the towels given had weird / gross spots on it although it was clear they were washed and dried before delivered. Beds were with really soft mattresses, I have a bad back, so I didn't sleep much the first night and woke up with a terrible back ache. Second night we solved the problem with extra pillow and blanket.
