Friendly front of house staff. Lawrence very kindly left us a hand written card, flowers, wine for our special anniversary. Such a kind gesture and much appreciated. Our room was facing the mountains and had a balcony which was good. It was a good size, not the brightest but am not complaining. The hot tub and sauna looked good but even staying 4 nights we ran out of time to use. Location is on the main strip, a bit of a walk but nice enough walk and we didn't mind at all. Thanks 😊

Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing and often not refilled. There was a poor selection of fruit, cereal, bread. The staff did look a bit stretched. If we stayed again I'd chose room only.

We stayed 3 nights at the Canalta Lodge. Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The room was very clean and had a fridge and a microwave as well as a Nespresso machine. We enjoyed the hot tub, sauna and cold plunge tub in the outdoor courtyard. The outdoor fire pits were also nice and s’mores were provided. We also had a small balcony and it was nice to sit outside. Breakfast in the morning was good and the service was fantastic. Everyone was very pleasant. Great location to see the top hot spots. 15 minutes to Lake Minnewanka, and Two Jack Lake and 45 minutes to Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon and Lake Peyto and Bow Lake.

The room was on the small side as was the bathroom. The Lodge is one of the farthest from the downtown core. After hiking all day, you either need to hike for dinner or take a taxi or the bus. It is quieter down this end of town which can be a positive.

The bed, is with thick and comfort sheet and quilt, not like the thin ones in most hotels, it's very comfortable. The marshmello provided every day in the afternoon is very welcome by kids. Courtyard is very quiet and relaxing place.

Breakfast is of very high quality, but just items are identical everyday, enjoying it for a week is good, if stay longer e.g. 2 weeks then eating exactly the same things everyday will probably be a bit boring.

friendly staff, accommodating

We had booked a king room for 9 nights. we were beside a room full of party animals. so disturbing, after drinking out someplace, came back at 2:22 am, started partying with lights outside and very loud music. It happened to us on our arrival weekend and departing weekend. something needs to be done for loud obnoxious behaviour. I’m sure our experience was not the first time this has happened. We brought this to their attention the first weekend. it’s very disturbing to be woken up at 2 am. then have to get up and call the front desk to explain what is going on. All in all we had a great stay. the management did what they could to make things right. Thank you.

It definitely exceeded our expectations! When we saw that breakfast was included in our booking we were expecting basic continental and were pleasantly surprised that a hot breakfast buffet was offered each morning. Also, the daily s’mores bar was such a creative idea and an amazing perk. The lobby and outdoor area are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped but they also have a cozy feel to them. It was nice at the end of a day of hiking to just chill by the fire or read in the swings. They also have a library of board games you can play as well as bike rentals and a gym. Also, underground parking in Banff during peak season for what they charge a night is an absolute steal. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the staff was super nice and helpful.

Our only complaint - and this is really reaching for something - is that the lighting in the rooms isn’t great. There was no overhead light in bedroom area and none of the lamps cast enough light to light the room properly.

From the moment we arrived the check in staff were friendly and helpful. Lawrence in particular was brilliant. He was very informative, friendly and always on hand with information. Even on his day off he came and told us information we needed to know for a trip we had planned. It was my birthday and he arranged a bottle of wine for me which just made the experience. The facilities outside were great and the accommodation was situated easy to the town. The two bar men were fab, especially Kris who was very friendly and his food was lovely.

There was a bar manager who was rude to both guests but also her staff and done this in front of guests which as a person who works in a hotel is not professional or nice for the person involved.

Service was top notch! Location was great, couple of minutes to ski shuttles. Ski lockers available, as well as parking. Hot tubs were a blast - couldn't have imagined it would be that helpful at the end of a long active day. Common space for games and gathering was perfect. S'mores were a beautiful addition to the experience! Everything went smooth - perfect option for skiers!

Beds were too soft for me. Breakfast, although a huge, huge plus, was being repetitive with the same ingredients every day, which became tiring for a week's stay. One night, screaming girls were running in the halls bothering the rest of other guests - but it's probably not the hotel's fault - didn't repeat itself after we've complained.

Unfortunatley due to ill health our 4 night stay turned into just 1 night. this was a sad disappointment. The hotel was excellent, the staff were helpful at sorting out are rearrangments. We had a lovely big room with huge comfy bed adn lots of space for suitcases. breakfast was great and served early enough for our very early departure. Loved the outdoor space with fire and free smores. Cant wait to come back and explore Banff and area properly and would stay here again.

This is the second time that we have stayed at The Canalta Lodge. It is one of the best hotels we have stayed at on our trips. The amenities they provide are great for families, including the nightly smores, hot tub, and sauna. They have clean rooms, a great breakfast, and a fantastic staff. I highly recommend it!

The comfort of the beds and pillows leave something to be desired. Also, we had four people in our room, and when they came in to clean, they would take the towels and leave three. I had to request more towels more than once.

absolutely loved the outdoor fire pit, free s’mores bar and the hot tub and plunge pool was awesome! we enjoyed sitting in the lobby having drinks and it was great that there was a shelf full of games as we forgot ours! Staff were great, friendly and helped whenever needed! it also is a very pet friendly place!

The only suggestions I could say is they could change the hot food for the breakfast as it was the same food 3 days in a row and the potatoes were always under cooked. It also would be nice if there were some blankets for when you sit out around the fire tables and robes in the rooms for when you go to the hottubs.
