The hotel was beautiful! Inspired in the colonial age, it was just beautiful. The amenities are very nice, classy, excellent touch! Gorgeous views, they have a fire pit (that I think you need to book in advance) but the amenities real nice.

I wish I had known the activities they have programed each day so I could have planned the day much better! I didn't know they have hotel tours included, they have a horse tour experience, they have golfing, different activities each day, yoga, etc etc. And they have times; so I wished they could post these activities ahead if time cause I would've loved to attend to one activity at least. I just enjoyed the bar, and when I went to the wine bar it was already closed 😢 at 7pm. They also have a especial dinner "igloo" which is beautiful, but again, you need to reserve ahead of time. I would've liked to dine there, but I didn't know they had all these.

The building is like a beautiful castle. Different restaurants and beautiful yard area made this castle even more amazing

When we arrived we realized that outdoor pool is closed. We got shocked because we haven't been informed about it and we chose this hotel mainly because of having a outdoor pool area . They told us we can use the spa's outdoor area because pool is closed. When we went to the spa concierge a woman in reception made us feel so awkward by asking back to back questions about why they did give you this for free and it is not included in your room. I told her I can go to 5th floor that fairmont gold reception was there and ask them to give you a call, finally another staff invited us to get in. We felt so bad that we didn't stay more that 10 min and we didn't go to use the spa's hot tub again.

I liked having a 24hr cafe. I liked having activities available. I liked having the bus pass.

I no complaints but there also wasn’t anything extraordinary for $1400/night. I have had similarly great service for far less. So my marks for value are lower. The afternoon tea was also not worth it. There wasn’t a lot of flavor in any of the items. The platter it was served on was worn and looked misshapen. I would expect more attention to detail. I would have liked getting an idea of activities in advance so I can have had the chance to book. The wine tasting would have been nice to do had I known in advance.

Location, pools, staff, dinner at the Vermillion were incredible, although the food did come out before our drink order, coffee, which was very strange:( beds were amazing! Bought a pillow to take home and the staff didn’t ask about the firmness so now I have a firm pillow and have to deal with the store to get that sorted out, again strange

We ordered one breakfast to share and added a couple of juices and it was over $75.00, this was the only thing that threw us off. If it was the best breakfast we’d ever eaten, it would’ve been ok but it was cold, no butter on the toast or at all, there were no jams or peanut butter. We had to call for it and when it got back the food was even colder obviously 😂 It really was the only disappointing thing about our trip:(

Before we arrived we received a text letting us know about the Fairmont Gold private entrance. When we arrived, they were waiting for us and whisked us through check-in. Our room was on the 5th floor near the private lounge. Charles gave us a tour and helped us settle in. The service at the Fairmont is the best I've ever had. Our room was beautiful and just the perfect size. We appreciated the small refrigerator in our room. We did a couples massage during our stay and the spa was fantastic. So relaxing. Loved the pool, whirl pools and sauna/steam room. We had dinner at the Walthaus and appreciated the ride back up to the hotel. Everything was fantastic. I can't wait to visit again.

I wish I could have stayed longer!

Room was very nice, although a little on the small side. the Gold lounge was very nice, especially liked the reading lounges with the fireplace. Nice to be out of the room in a change of venue. the food in the lounges was wonderful, great variety, freshly replenished. Very nice.

Big disappointment was the lack of brewed decaf coffee in the lounge, even in the morning. The staff offered a decaf Americano instead. It was not the same, very disappointing. Fairmont in Lake Louise managed to brew decaf coffee - why couldn't the Fairmont in Banff do the same. You need to offer this to your guests, even if you have to dispose of some unused decaf coffee at the end of the day. This is not a choice for many of us and it made me angry every day).

Room exceeded expectations. It was huge and I loved that there were 2 wardrobes. It was newly renovated, and it was beautiful. View was of the rooftop of the lower level of the building however we could still see the mountains in the distance.

We asked for our sheets to be changed each day. We had a specific reason for this, (we were not just being entitled), however this was not done. For the amount we paid per night for the room, this should not have been overlooked if we had asked for it (no matter what the reason). When checking out and advising the lady on reception, she did not seem to really care.

The ease of it all. The free bus pass into town, the trails, the splendid terrace, the selection of on site food options, the activities guide (I took the hotel history presentation), the heated pools, including the 34m lap pool, the assistance with transportation, the stores. The lap pool is the standout. If you are balking at the price, know that the founder bought land with a particular view. You will understand pricing better when you stand on the terrace and see what is before you.

I would be hard pressed to come up with anything with which to find fault.

Completely breathtaking from the outside. The views are unmatched and sits right near a gorgeous green river.

The rooms are NOT cheap and TINY with a very small window. Granted, the window has a wonderful view (if you get the side of the hotel that faces the river) but it is a small view. The bathroom is smaller than my college dorm bathroom. when you sit on the toilet, you’re also touching the shower and sink. All of that is fine, just know it going in because this place is so expensive and not exactly luxurious inside the rooms.

In short, everything… the location is amazing with fantastic views. The historic nature of the building. The service was impeccable, we were fortunate to stay in a gold room and the separate entrance was a nice touch. Food was wonderful.

It was a bit expensive but you did feel you were being looked after very well. The bathroom in the bedroom was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel, the actual overall room was a very good size but disproportionate to the bathroom. There was also only a shower and not a bath
