Check in at the reception area was very smooth and we enjoyed the lovely little red cabin we stayed in. The space in the room was a little tighter than I expected but it included more amenities than I expected like an in room fridge, coffee maker and tv. The location is the most amazing thing about staying here. We walked along Johnston Canyon in the evening and it was blissfully empty! I've never had a peaceful nature walk here before now because it is such a busy area and I enjoyed the the experience. An onsite coffee shop and restaurant are available for meals.

I would have appreciated a room with a better view than of the parking lot behind us considering we were in a nature setting. The restaurant dinner menu was just okay but we enjoyed a great breakfast at the restaurant and the serving staff was friendly.

So the cabins and bungalows were cute. I guess they've been there awhile so the theme is "old fashion".....meaning there are phone booths around, old cars, old gas station pump, boat, etc. Cute! The location was literally beside the Johnson Canyon trail so that was nice. Only got a takeout soup at the restaurant and some ice cream and both those were good and I think just as expensive as everything else in Canada. Had a refrigerator in room which we utilized and also a coffee maker. The bear claw tub was nice and was utilized everyday after hiking. there was a fireplace but we never could get the wood to light and stay lit so in essence it was useless.

What I didn't like was that there was absolutely no place to put your clothes.....no dresser, or closet. I didn't think they utilized the space in the cabin well. I know they were trying to keep the "old fashion " theme but for example we had a TV on a console and even in the console there were no drawers or shelves to put anything. We ended laying out our clothes on the floor in piles. They did have some hooks to hang a few things. The wood in the fire place would never stay lit so the FP was useless to us. They need to put a fire starter in there and one of those fire starter wood blocks or something. Since they have this great bear claw tub they should include in the toiletries some bubble bath.

The accomodation was fantastic both in terms of location and feel of the property itself. The staff (with one exception) were extremely friendly and very helpful.

Shortly after check-in we had a couple of questions that we wanted clarified and we returned to the front desk for assistance. The guest representive we were unfortunate enough to encounter was a blonde lady with facial piercings who was rude, dismissive and condescending to us. At this point i was ready to cancel the booking and leave despite only just checking in. However, my partner suggested otherwise and i'm very glad she did because we stayed and had a fabulous time. I only highlight this because every other member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful....but it only takes one individual who frankly should not have a customer facing position to undo the good work of others.

This place is so special. It is in a unique location, even close to a popular attraction at the park it still felt secluded and magical. We had three nights there and wish we could have stayed longer. The bungalow itself was clean and very comfortable. It was spacious and everything we needed was there. It was even quite stylish, with the appliances clearly selected to match the "vibe" of the place. Staff were super friendly and the location was terrific - we got out into the canyon before most people got there and had it to ourselves for a bit. The added touches - like the antique cars parked around the place, the cute BBQ area and the tennis court - were all lovely and unexpected. The cafe and restaurant were good, too.

I only had 2 complaints - first, the hot water/water pressure was not great. Warm enough to take a shower without being miserable but if you were hoping for a nice, hot steamy shower after a long hike you are likely not going to be satisfied. Also the coffee mugs were so tiny as to be rather useless - I needed about 5 cups before I felt sufficiently caffeinated. Please consider getting bigger mugs!

The individual cabins on this property are very charming and comfortable. Everything was clean. The location is really the draw here, since the property is right next to the Johnston Canyon trail, which is open 24/7. I really enjoyed being able to explore the area early in the morning or later in the evening after the crowds had thinned out significantly.

The restaurant food was pretty mediocre and the restaurant itself closed way too early for my liking. There is nowhere else to eat nearby without driving 20+ minutes, and no real way to cook anything in the room (at least not in my room - not sure about other, more expensive units). While I thought the property was very nice, it was quite expensive for the quality of lodging provided.

I loved the heritage cabins, which mostly date from the 1930s and are full of original features, and all nestled between pine trees. Don’t think the TVs in the rooms are necessary. Excellent location next to Johnston Canyon and its river. The walk to the Upper Falls is one of the loveliest walks I’ve ever done. Shower good, pillows great. Staff are amazing - really lovely. Fastest housekeeping ever! Peaceful atmosphere. This is an utterly charming, very sweet, very special place.

The restaurant - quality doesn’t match prices and very poor vegetarian offering.

Location location location! Beautiful setting in the trees right next the path up the canyon. Makes a great base to travel to lake Louise and Banff. We also saw deers right by the roadside close to the canyon. We didn’t eat at the premises but the staff were lovely ( we had a drink) but the food we saw being served looked great.

Perhaps a little expensive for what is basic accommodation but it added to our trip never the less and the location was perfect.

The location, midway between the town of Banff and Lake Louise, was perfect. Beautiful area off the beaten path, in the forest. Within a very short walk, a great restaurant and the trailhead to Johnston Falls. In the evening, we'd sit by the gas fireplace/heater and enjoy reminiscing about the day's adventure. It was very cozy and warm, offering a nice respite from the chilly, rainy weather. If it had been sunny, we would have enjoyed the porch. Remember... these are rustic cabins, at a good price, not the Hilton Grand. The bathroom was small and efficient, but you will have everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We didn't see a moose!!! Bear? Check. Deer? Check. Elk? Check. But no moose.... 😥 Of course, that's not the property's fault!

Quirky lodges , set in wildlife corridor , near walks ,away from city but within driving distance of both Banff and lake Louise , or public transport right on doorstep , lodges are basic but comfortable , and great where they are, there are no cooking facilities in lodge ,coffee machine which is used for tea as well , and if you looking to catch up on soaps ,tough no tv , the whole site closes at 8pm , restaurant limited choice and also closes 8pm ,if out of these times a call required so phone required , that said had a great time

No microwave

The natural surroundings were stunning, and the opportunity to hike to the waterfalls right from the hotel's territory was a definite highlight. The scenery was breathtaking, and it made for a memorable adventure. The bungalow was well-equipped. Everything I needed was readily available, making my stay comfortable. Additionally, the hotel's on-site cafe was a gem – offering delicious treats and a cozy atmosphere. The combination of the beautiful nature, the delightful cafe, and the thoughtful room amenities made this stay comfortable.

I stayed at this hotel recently and found the WiFi to be quite disappointing. While it somehow worked when I was outdoors, inside the room, it was a different story. Connecting was a hit-or-miss situation, and even when I managed to get connected, the internet was practically non-existent. Even outdoors, the WiFi frequently disconnected, making it incredibly frustrating. To give you an idea, I experienced around 10 disconnections during just one internet call. It was a major inconvenience and significantly impacted my stay.
