The lodge was lovely, staff exceptionally friendly. Bistro food was very good. I would suggest that the breakfast could have some more cold options other than cereal and toast. Local bakery products, boiled eggs, fresh local bagels, (loved the homemade granola BTW), fresh muffins rather than packaged (over processed). It would be nice to have an infra red Sauna and a hot tub to make the lodge experience more valueblen for money.

Snow conditions. But you can’t control that. We came to ski but decided not to spend the $. Hiked, snowmobile and cross country all excellent. The jets in the bathtub did. It work.

It was a great place to relax and use as a homebase for going up the mountain and other hikes in the area. In addition to the room, you have access to a comfortable lounge, where there is a kettle with tea, microwave and toaster, and plates and cutlery. With the fridge in our room, this meant we could bring a lot of our own food and make our own meals quite easily. It does take about 15 or 20 minutes to get into Golden, but this wasn’t a problem for us. We went out for dinner in the town one night, but spent the rest of our time hiking and lounging at the lodge. The staff were exceptional, super friendly, and incredibly helpful. Can’t say enough good things about Tom and his team!

What a gorgeous authentic ski lodge. Furnished with luxurious comfort, big open fire. Lovely room beautifully decorated. Restaurant next door. Staff cleared the fresh snow away from our car, such a great treat. Excellent, friendly staff. Excellent location, amazing views of the forest. Fabulous ski and heated boot storage room.

Breakfast was very basic. Cereal, toast, yoghurt. Would have loved some fresh pastries and a hot protein option. Would be great to have milk available all day for when making a hot drink.

Location was great, the log cabin style building was cosy and comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Fire in the lounge room was beautiful.

No hot tub and bath jets in our bathroom weren’t working. No laundry facilities. A kitchenette would have been great as we were there for 5 nights.

The accommodation at Winston Lodge was great and our host Tom was awesome during our stay, he has a vast knowledge of the area that he shared with us like places to visit and see around Golden BC. Tom treated us like family from when we arrived all the way until we left. He had gone above and beyond our expectations with helping us in a variety ways. We will be keeping in touch with Tom and have gained a new friend. Highly recommended!

Tom was very friendly and asked us if we ever needed anything, even offered us a discount coupon for the golden skybridge. The place was very clean. It was a bit of a drive from downtown but we got to enjoy some nice scenery during the drive. The main area always played some nice music. The whole place had a nice vibe and good for a quiet place to relax and spend some time away from the city. Checking in and checking out was incredibly simple!

1. Its location is too far away from Golden, but is just nearby the ski center. 2. The staff made a mistake on the payment, having us pay a lot more than expected (around 15 CAD): he decided not to charge us in the local currency (CAD), but in the currency where the credit card was issued, WITHOUT EVEN OFFERING US THE CHOICE. The problem is when you decide to pay in a foreign currency, the exchange rate becomes extremely poor and the local bank would even charge an additional fee. We were unhappy about it and had to argue with Booking.com, the staff and the bank to get a refund, which is still far less than what we’ve paid due to the varying exchange rate just because of HIS mistake! I had never had this issue before…

Room was spacious and clean and enjoyed having a smart tv to watch Netflix when it rained. The common areas are large and cosy with couches, fireplace, tables & chairs, toaster, microwave and coffeemaker and utensils to prepare your own light breakfast or lunches. I also noticed a gas barbeque out sideside for guest use. The area is private and quiet but just a 5 min walk to the ski resort.

Not a great choice for when the ski resort is closed! It was the off-season, so nothing was opened at the resort on the weekdays while we were there. No food, no activities, not even a convenience store etc. Wish this would have been clear when booking. No staff on premises. I messaged prior to arrival about booking a massage and received no response. Be aware that you will have to carry your luggage up one or two flights of stairs unassisted. Our very mini fridge basically froze everything we put in in.

Friendly staff. The room comes equipped with a refrigerator and offers access to dishes and silverware. Coffee, water and tea are also provided. The hotel has ski, board and boot storage areas, which include air ducts for drying boots at the end of the day. The food in the hotel pub is good (Although the pub is closed Monday and Tuesday).

Limited offering for breakfast around the ski area in the pubs. The refrigerator was defective and all the food we put inside froze.

We stayed for two nights. The location is a ski resort although we visited in the summer when the resort was quiet. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well supplied with clean towels. The hotel was very relaxing with great views of the mountains from our balcony.
