Loved the location and price for this beautiful classic historical heritage hotel. Loved the old world charm. Breakfast included was excellent with real eggs and bacon! Fantastic vintage elevator so cool!
First room we had on July 10 was great with king bed was excellent with nice sized bathroom. Second stay July 13 -14 in Queen room, bed was great but bathroom was very small and room smelled a bit musty/old probably due to being a heritage building. But did love the history of the building and talking with the elderly maintenance man who seemed to suit the place! Wished the original outdoor classic The Plaza sign would light up like in the old days! Would look so awesome!

The complimentary Breakfast was amazing. Was not expecting quite this spread! It was very good and hot and liked that it was easy access just off the lobby. The hotel is 100 years old and was lovely with great carpeting, wide staircases and right downtown close to the concert venue. Loved the wide variety of restaurants in the area. Double Beds were great and very comfortable. Blinds kept out all the light. Elevator was tiny but maintenance man was very kind and knowledgeable and explained the hotel is very good about maintaining it's service records; he said it's in excellent condition and it was. The lady working in the hotel lounge was really friendly and she was super busy as she was alone but looked after us very well. Front Desk staff were very kind and quick!
I didn't like the small parking lot that was available for guests as very tiny and tight spaces and full. The hotel did offer an alternative parking lot that was one block away and this parking lot was huge and lots of spaces. I always have a variety of luggage when I travel so this was a problem to organize.

We were very fortunate that they upgraded our room to a suite so it was much bigger than we were expecting. All the furniture fit that historic Victorian vibe, but it was still quite comfortable. I'm curious as to how comfortable the smaller rooms would be. The cast iron claw-foot tub was wonderful and the morning breakfast was a simple, tasty start to the day! Also, the staff were so friendly and helpful.
The pillows were so fluffy which for many people this would be a bonus, but I love a good flat pillow. Also, it is located downtown and while I felt safe walking around; I was nervous about leaving my car parked down the road in the lot. There was some broken glass in the lot, but we emptied my car so people wouldn't be tempted to break in.

Right in downtown and within walking distance to the nearest supermarket and city park. The age of the hotel and its fancy architectural exterior made it very eccentric to the downtown vibe. The breakfast was very good as well.
Parking. Only 15 parking spaces next to the hotel and about a dozen more in a parking lot two blocks up the street. There's a fee to park in these spaces as well, like $9 CAD or something per day. All the rooms were sold out and the paring spaces next to the hotel were full when I stayed there, the folks at the front desk told me that it was like this every day throughout the summer season.

Great location - can walk to most places. Very competitive prices - especially compared to other places in Canada. Good breakfast buffet - small selection of hot food and bread. Staff are friendly & helpful. Parking (outdoor and bedside the hotel) is 8 CAD per 24h (2023 price) but there are only about 10 spaces.
Only one elevator (max 4 persons) - oldest one in Kamloops (1928). During busy times, e.g. breakfast, 4-6pm (check-in rush), you have to wait a long time. Some rooms (e.g. on the 4th floor) require you to walk up additional stairs (approximately 7-8 stairs) that are not served by the elevator. The hotel is old and could do with some renovations.

The hotel was central located and wasy to find by car. Staff were polite and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable and shower was hot with good pressure. I had the bison burger which was nice and we were able to get breakfast to go next morning as we had an early depart. Car park is not too far from hotel and cheaper to book through hotel
Location whilst central seemed to have a lot of homeless. I found this intimidating walking to and from the car and did not feel comfortable leaving the hotel. I was totally exhausted after our drive from banff sl perhaps this made me more vulnerable. It felt more comfortable in the morning

Character historical hotel. Great central location downtown. Surprisingly quiet on third floor despite Saturday night loud music in bar! Hot breakfast really great like the fact they use real utensils rather than paper plastic (less waste) like most. The staff super friendly and courteous and pet friendly. It certainly met our needs for an affordable price.
The room was pretty small for family of four and a dog. Our boys are older (all over 6 ft), and we were pretty crammed with light luggage and a dog. We also had all our ski gear in the room as not safe at all to leave any kind of valuables in vehicle overnight due to the increasing homeless/drug situation downtown. The elevator is tiny and original to historical building which we loved, but meant we had to cart everything up and down few trips, but it was good exercise. The room didn’t seem to have any controls for heating/fan/cooling options? We kept windows open at night helped some, but was a bit stuffy not sure how it would be in summer? Anyway, we don’t like to complain, but hopefully helpful…if we didn’t have the dog and ski gear most likely enough room just need to be organized 😊

The Plaza is an older hotel that has been nicely refurbished. The lobby is spacious and well appointed. There is an elevator to take you to the upper floors or you can choose the wide staircase. We were given vouchers for drinks at the attached pub Tumbleweed (nice touch) and the room came with a very nice hot breakfast in that same pub (eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage). Our room 208 had a very comfortable bed with crisp linens. A small fridge was tucked in the TV cabinet. There was a single serving coffee maker. The hotel was conveniently located downtown near a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Parking was available for $8 plus taxes.

Outstanding service from Irene at the reception. Room was clean and comfortable with everything needed for a good night's sleep including very nice cotton linens on the beds. I liked the heritage elements of the property and the relaxed ambiance. The location was great for proximity to shops and restaurants and a lovely park but still easy access to the Trans Canada Highway. The hot breakfast included in our stay exceeded our expectations and was better than breakfasts offered at much more expensive hotels in the area.
The mattress was fine but getting close to needing replacement.

Good wifi, very comfortable bed and friendly staff. Nice boutique feel in rooms and lobby. Bedside lamps with built in plugs are handy and good food can be found just across the street.
Parking was not clear. Only after checking in do staff tell you the discounted hotel parking is on one side of the small lot and not the other, and also that if that one is full they have another overflow lot. Some/any signage in the lot would be helpful. Also some upkeep could be done in the rooms, ex. bathroom wall paint over the sink was peeling badly in one spot and window screen was very dirty- takes away from the boutique feel.
