Monte Carlo Inn & Suites Downtown Markham

Love the neatness, the staffs at the breakfast section were really nice and understandable. The place was always being cleaned up and always smelled really good. They work really fast and neat. Give the cleaners a raise cause they be doing hell of a good job! Always kind to guest and show pride in their work.

Staffs at check in desk should smile more. Very expensive but great place. Also the breakfast can be upgraded because I had to buy breakfast some days for my son, he couldn’t eat the same thing that was there.

Room was clean and comfortable, jacuzzi in the room was excellent. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Continental breakfast was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room had a mini fridge and a microwave, which was handy. They're doing reno's, but only work during the day and it's looking really great.

The TV was tricky to start in the room on the first day. The only real issue we had was leaving the morning after a massive snow storm. The parking lot was not very clear, and guests were left to dig themselves out of 4 feet of snow. The hotel did leave out 2 shovels, but it took us an hour to dig out our car.

Breakfast was good. Suggest menu should be changed every week with few items changed so it doesn't get boring for people who stay over a week, eating the same breakfast every day. Good there was a washer and dryer for $2 each per load. Location is great walking distance to T&T n so many restaurants with good food.

Staff should be a little more friendly, wishing guests in the morning instead of the guest wishing them first then they respond. Carpets should be vaccumed n top comforter sheet should be changed. No option for the washer and dryer taking in 25 cents and sometimes if you don't have 2 loonies then you can't get your laundry done. During my stay it happened to one guest n Front Desk didn't have change which they should always have so the guest couln't do the laundry. I didn't have any change either to help the guest. The guest went asking the maids too n no one had loonies. The guest was carrying this big load of clothes going up and down. Felt bad for the guest.

Overall good and as expected. Staff were helpful and polite. Rooms comfortable and the continental breakfast good. Location great if you're mainly spending time in this area of Markham/Richmond Hill/Scarborough and eateries + T&T, Shoppers area short walk (or eve shorter drive) away.

Minor quibbles and feedback for consideration: Mattresses could be rotated.. there is a definite dip/depression on the side closest to the bedside table. One day during our stay there was fire alarm testing in the morning, a notice would've been nice. Also we indicated we did not want housekeeping during our stay but our room was entered while we were out and the next day housekeeping was insistent on asking if we wanted our room tidied. Appreciate the offer, but we indicated and responded no because we wanted to maintain our privacy.

The place is clean and comfortable. There's available a simple breakfast, but even so much better than other hotels. It is located in front of a bus stop by which you can access the Warden Station (+-50minutes). The room has a good size and the restaurant inside offer a great menu with affordable prices (but if you like to buy a different food there is a supermarket 10 minutes walking)

Generally speaking the hotel is good. However, I think the carpet could be changed (or in some places removed), because clearly consists in a source of dust and other particles that affects the respiratory comfort.

The Breakfast needs more choices. Maybe rice is a great addition instead of just bread. I have opted to have my room cleaned 2x within a week of my stay there. The Housekeeping lady Josephine have helped me clean our room. The towels, bathroom supplies like shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are provided by the housekeeping carts of the ladies. I usually ask them for replacements in the morning whenever I see their cart outside of another room they are cleaning. I did the disinfecting myself. One thing I wasn't happy about was the carpet in the room. It might be good if their maintenance deep cleaned the carpet 1x or 2x a week, depending on the amount of people using the same room throughout the month. They should also provide their Housekeeping with better and more powerful vacuum cleaners just to make their job easier. Overall, Thank you to the 2 Filipina Housekeeping ladies that have helped me during my stay. You both have made our week feel much better. I did not get to ask the other lady's name but the one for my room was Josephine. Thank you for your hard work and hospitality.

Kids loved the pool area. Pool was heated and so as the pool room. Liked they have rinse off area right next to the pool. Excellent location to all the places we planned to go. Plenty of parking spaces for free parking.

There are two pictures on the wall in our room are quite scary which creeped my kids. Both are black and white pics, one with an empty old well (similar to the movie The Ring), and another one with old external wall and windows. Just odd choices for wall decor. Breakfast was ok, good for a quick bite. Wish there were more choices.

Generally, stay was very peaceful, calm, enjoyable and specially great care was taken for surroundings clean-up, hygienic and area environment. Premises was simply excellent and love to come over here again and again as and when the need come to reside.

One thing which I missed is that at least 2 bottles of fresh water which cost nothing, but was not available and placed in the room as part of room services. Also, Hotel should provide some spare disposable cans for drinking water, tea etc. as only two cans were not sufficient to cater for the 24-hour stay. These comments are better for the Hotel Management and Administration to look into and take suitable measures which cost nothing but some efforts on their part.

The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean and it was nice to not have to spend on breakfast. The continental breakfast was great and the variety that was provided excellent. It gave options for people who just wanted something light like fruits or yogurt, oatmeal or cereal, boiled egg or toast, bagel and a variety of pastries. I was impressed by that.

I did not like the fact that my room was not cleaned the next day. We were asked if we wanted the room cleaned, and said not because we were not sure why a hotel would ask that, so I assumed without asking if there was an additional cost. It would have been nice to know why that question was asked. I would have been nice to have the garbage removed.

- Location was nice, not too far from home. - Pool was a nice size and water was not too cold. - AC was working amazingly throughout the stay. - Shower was probably my favourite shower i’ve seen at any inn/suite so far - Staff was very accommodating

If I had to say one thing, the breakfast buffet could have had more options. Not to say it was bad, the food was good for what was there but i’d be lying if I said I wasn’t expecting more.
