Moffat Inn

Location is Prime - 4 minute walk to Theatres, shops, restaurants, beautiful flower beds and heritage buildings. Parking provided - really convenient to be freed of the car. Masaki Sushi on the premises of Moffat Inn was a happy surprise. So was the Black Sesame Seed Icecream. This very old building (1835) is kept in remarkably good shape. Our room was comfortable, soundproofed and well serviced. The staff were attentive and helpful. To those who gripe about "old", you missed the point.

Nothing. Our first stay in NOL was so good we'll be back - and to The Moffat Inn, specifically.

The location was fantastic and plenty of private parking. I loved being across from the pretty park and walking distance to the waterfront and a lovely church cemetery. The room on the first floor was comfortable with lots of windows, a terrace and a sitting area with sofa to relax instead of being confined to a bed. The decor was charming too. It was a perfect spot to explore the historic downtown by foot. The staff was helpful and even gave me the same room on my second pass through during my trip. Will definately stay again on my next visit.

The entry and check in area is very run down. It concerned me on arrival that the rooms would also be in that condition. Luckily the room was fantastic. Even just replacing the carpet and a few worn out chairs in the common space would make a huge difference in first impressions.

I requested a late checkout when booking because I was in the marathon and wouldn't be back to room until 11am. This was important in the making of the booking. I actually spoke with someone there to confirm. And of course I arrive and they can't accommodate and have no record of my request. They eventually gave me a half hour to shower and get my things. All this and when we arrived at 2pm our room wasn't ready until 4pm. I was promised a text when it was ready but never received one. It all sounds worse than it was. Im not upset as I have come to expect this in this industry almost every trip.

Like the location. like that there was free parking. like the room was clean and comfortable. Liked there was a fridge, coffee with real coffee mugs, free wifi. Liked that there were clean robs, hair dryer, iron with iron board. liked the extra pillows and comfortable bed. liked that there was soap, shampoo n conditioner. Love that there are two comfortable chairs. Love the size of the tub/shower, towels were awesome.

Didn't like the fridge on the floor, no free TV, no free movies, no toilet brush. The one thing that left me disappointed was, after I left in the morning about 10 min after I remembered I left food I bought the night before in the fridge, when I returned 10 min later I was told that it had been thrown away In the garbage. It was good food and only 10 min after I had left, there was not a "maybe hold it for alittle bit since it's good food" they may return. I was so disappointed. But, it was my fault for leaving it, but the fridge on the floor I didn't remember to look and take the food In the fridge. Disappointed yes, but it was definitely a nice overnight stay. My first time and was left overall satisfied. Thank you

The room was wonderful - modern, comfortable and clean. There was air con, the shower was excellent and the bed and linen were confortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect and parking was easy.

The corridors and communal reception were dated and visibly needed hoovering and cleaning, this off set the positivity of the rooms. The tea and coffee had a chemical taste - not sure if this was the water, the milk or the tea?!?

The staff was exceptional. Welcomed with friendly faces and a nice chat before going to our room. The hotel itself is not for one who likes the most modern of facilities. I really appreciate the authenticity of older buildings with nice upgrades. Our room was adorable and quaint. Excellent location just 2 blocks from the main core. The staff really were wonderful and can't wait to return!

Wish we stayed longer.

Location of the hotel was great. The room was "roomy" enough for us and the bathroom was modern and up to date. The staff is REALLY excellent. Parking is easy. Dining is easy to get to. A/C was good and effective! :)

The hallways could be vacuumed a bit more often. The bed was a little hard. Wifi was not available when I need to confirm things and do a little light work in the morning first thing. The furniture is a little dated and beat up. Overall no big deals.

Room was clean, well-kept and nicely decorated. Great location, just a couple of minutes' walk from theatres. Inn is in a historic building, but well-maintained.

Older windows were too heavy to stay open on their own and kept sliding down/shut, so it was tough to get fresh air, but otherwise the room was nice.

Very nice old inn with an excellent location to the downtown historic area. The room looked newly refurbished, and had a very comfortable bed. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

The only negative experience concerned the air conditioning unit. It made a very loud rattling noise.
