Comfort Inn Ottawa West- Kanata

The room was clean and comfortable, I like the ground floor access to my car, the location is convenient to where I need to be.

I bring my own coffee and breakfast as I have found on previous stays that the breakfast area is poorly laid out and can be very chaotic. There was a bus load of young hockey players staying at the same time so I didn’t want to deal with the crowd. I was also alarmed to find 3 police cars and an ambulance outside my room when I returned in the evening. I know that’s no the fault of the hotel but as a woman travelling alone I found it rather alarming.

In our trip to Halifax and back, this was the best comfort inn in terms of service, quality, and customer service. The employees took more time to explain things that they didn’t at our other inns, which we really appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was the best of all the ones we’d stayed at, with more selection and fresher quality. Overall great experience.

We were a little far from the main part of Ottawa, but that was what we chose and not really anything to do with the hotel itself (but that’s our only issue with the hotel - if you could even call it that!).

The convenience of the location of the hotel. Convenient parking. Friendly staff. Extremely comfortable bed.

We didn't get to eat the complimentary breakfast, even though we were down at the dining area early. Around 8 a.m. It was crowded and busy with bus loads of kids. There wasn't even enough room to go in and grab stuff to go neck to our room. Even if there was room, the food that was there was picked over. We ended up leaving and just going out for breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and well kept. No other complaints.

We had another hotel booking that got cancelled due to a water main break so we booked it last minute out of necessity. I was happy that there was something available and it was reasonably priced. Staff was nice.

We had an infant and there was no elevator so it wasn’t very accessible for our family. Also the main hallways/building had jo air conditioning and the one in the room was very loud this difficult to sleep with but it worked so I guess that matters. The breakfast area is very small and other guests were very pushy making it difficult to get something to eat.

The amenities were simple but useful and appreciated. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

I reserved a pet-friendly room with a sliding door to the outside, but instead got a room with pet-friendly flooring but no sliding door to the outside...I had to exit my room with my pet through a regular exit. I was told that I had "arrived too late" and all the sliding door rooms had already been taken. This was disappointing. The breakfast room on our 2nd morning was very crowded with a large group that was just standing around talking and not actually getting breakfast. We had to ask some of them to take their conversations to the hallway in order to allow the breakfast eaters to come into the room. There was no hotel staff monitoring this.

We ended up here because they had power after the Thunder storms on the weekend. The rooms were nice modern and comfortable. They also had a good breakfast.

We arrived 25 minutes prior to check in. Noone in the lobby except staff. ..they inform us us check in is not till 3pm. ..we said ok fine. Came back at 305 .to find a line up which took us untill 415 to get checked. With confirmed reservations it should never take that long. Why they did not check us in at 25 to and ask just not to enter the room till after 3 .. Otherwise the stay was good

My hubby and I stayed two nights over the long weekend. we found it to be very quiet and peaceful. very clean, they severed really good breakfast from 7am-10am. Staff was very friendly and welcoming! (:

We were abit disappointed that we didn’t get to use the BBQ that was set up on the property. as their hotel ad states they have bbq facilities there. When asked they said it was only for another company to use. - Should probably take the use of bbq off the ad if no one can use it.

The check in was fast,friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean and neat and did the job. Location was quite good, near pumps, stores and a few good eateries too. Would definitely book again if needed.

The breakfast buffet had little to no options. Was quite basic and the restaurant was understaffed. We went during peak hours and saw one poor lady running around trying to keep up with the guest's demand. Hotel manager should've been proactive and prepared in advance for the rush.

Pet friendly and good location near plenty of venues and restaurants, etc. Lots of parking and easy access to most ground rooms through both an inside and outside door.

The room was a bit small to move about, especially with a large dog like mine. There was quite a bit of water on the bathroom floor when we first arrived but thankfully it wasn’t a leak.

Among best included breakfasts we have seen in 11 different hotels during our stay. Tommy's bar nearby, and Food Basics nearby. Big thanks to housekeeping and front desk personnel, who had supported in getting back a forgotten Amazon Kindle.

Room rather small. Bad smoke spell in the bathroom, coming from other rooms or air condition it seems, as it was not same level all the time.
