Clean room, had everything we needed in it: fridge, coffee maker (we did not use it this time, but it was there), all the trimmings in the bathroom. The blackout curtains were very good, the room was nice size, had a small desk and one easy chair too. Lots of power outlets. The mattress was comfy. It was very quiet there. Breakfast was very good, considering it's America ;) Lots of eating places and a big food store a short walk away is a plus too.

Bed could be slightly bigger (room was for 2 people) and I'm not so fond of rooms in which windows don't open and you have to run A/C 24/7, no matter what. The weather was nice and it would have been nicer to just breathe fresh air.

All the staff were friendly and easily transitioned from French to English. Breakfast was hearty and cooked items were refreshed constantly. Room was clean and quiet enough for a good sleep -- even on the main street side on the second floor. Location was perfect for our visit to Gatineau National Park and the Canadian Museum of History. The BBQ Shop up the road was an excellent place to dine in -- sat outdoors in front with wall between us and the street (top patio was full). Main road under construction, looks like area is getting a major infrastructure upgrade.

Dining area is undersized for the hotel being full. Also the dining area was not well ventilated and lacked cooling for the number of people. Speaking of ventilation, the hotel room was stuffy when you step inside off the corridor. Windows don't open. The bathroom exhaust worked as did the concealed fan/coil unit, but fresh air seemed to be lacking -- the building needs an HVAC engineering review. Three of the four reading lamps didn't work. The smoke detector started beeping the second night, so I removed it and got a new battery from the front desk -- still beeping so didn't reinstall. Parking spots are small and lot is crowded for full occupancy.

I really liked the diversity of food we had for breakfast. The room was also comfy and when we wanted to relax, we had many channel choices. The service was really nice.

It's picky, but we had to hold the flush to make our toilet really flush like it had to. The shower head was a little low also so I had to bend my knees a little to wash my hair.

Great stay overall - clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Would recommend staying here again!

Breakfast was fine but would have appreciated some options such as non dairy milk for tea and coffee. Would have loved tea in the room (there was coffee but no tea bags). Some construction going on in the area - no noise but part of the sidewalk was torn up.

Breakfast was very good with a choice of home fries, eggs, sausages, waffles, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread and bagel choices and muffins etc. there were two different kinds of juice and there was coffee. They were excellent about latecomers coming in past the 10 AM deadline also. Did not make anyone feel rushed or unwelcome even though they came in late.

I did not care for the way the eggs were cooked but that was a minor problem.

We had a room with a whirlpool bathtub and it was amazing to just relax and enjoy ourselves and get away from the craziness of family life and work for a couple of days. We will definitely consider going back. The breakfasts they provide are amazing. So much variety of food.

Not sure there was anything I didn't like. It was a great couple of days.

This is a hidden gem of a place that is perfect for those who just want a clean, comfortable room with a comfy bed and a quiet stay. Reception was terrific and I’ve always felt very welcome here. Covid-19 restrictions are followed very well and I felt safe checking in and leaving as well as in my room. Bathroom was spotless. Truly an awesome place at an AMAZING bargain price if you don’t need a pool etc. I was in Quebec to have a fun night at their amazing Casino so its the perfect place to stay for that. Free parking right on the premises and a 5 minute taxi to the Casino. Highly recommended!

My family and I really spent a great time at Auberge de la Gare . I like the quiet zone, the professionalism of the staff ,we got internet and nice bedrooms. I like the breakfast too ! And the neighborhood of the hotel seems to be nice !

The escalator was out of service and the didn't fix it but I was good too to go upstairs by foot (some exercise are nice for our health 😀 👍) but I'm not sure the other customers will like it !

Friendly staff, everything was clean. Breakfast was better than expected and refilled constantly (use of real dishes was also a big plus). Parking lot was full on the first day when we arrived late, but there was free parking available on street. All in all, we had an awesome stay for our tour to Ottawa.

Our room was small but neat & clean...all we needed for an overnight stay. I liked the continental breakfast. There was great variety & the food was fresh and delicious.

I found the bed and the pillow to be rather soft. There was road construction all around the hotel which made getting there a little inconvenient.
