Sonder Rideau

Loved the easy entry and the size of the apartment. Like coming home! Very clean, modern and with everything you need! Plus, I forgot something in the lobby and the chat folks were very helpful tracking it down...

There was a drilling noise on Thursday and Friday. Thursday's drilling began at 7:45am, which ruined my rare sleep in. I understand that the hotel was under construction, but waiting till 8:30 would have been appreciated. Also, I was looking forward to working out, but one treadmill was not working and there were no free weights (like in the photos). Perhaps a refresh of the gym is needed.

The room was modern and comfortable. The addition of basic supplies was helpful and air conditioning was good.

Three days we went to use the gym and the cardio equipment was without power. Staff was notified through the app but nothing was able to be done til staff arrived after 9am. They did offer to pay for us to go to another facility and offered a credit but it was disappointing to have the same thing happen each day. We didn't bother to go the last day of our stay. Also, a few more hooks added to the washroom to hang towels would be a good addition.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sonder Rideau Hotel in Ottawa, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. There were many highlights during my stay, but I'll highlight a few of my favourites. Location First and foremost, the location of the hotel was fantastic. Situated in the heart of downtown Ottawa, it was just a short walk to many of the city's top tourist attractions. I found it incredibly convenient to be able to explore the city on foot without having to worry about transportation. Many great restaurants and grocery stores are also within walking distance. Self Check-in and Check-out The hotel's self-check-in and check-out process was another highlight of my stay. It made the entire process incredibly smooth and hassle-free, allowing me to settle into my room quickly and easily. Even having a late checkout was quickly arranged and had no problem. Concept The Sonder Rideau Hotel also has a unique concept that blends the best of both worlds - it's a mix of an Airbnb and a hotel. The result is a comfortable, accessible, and REALLY spotless clean space that truly feels like a home away from home. The hotel's kitchenware allowed me to cook my own meals, while the luggage lockers made it easy for me to store my belongings once checked out. Amenities The gym and play zone were also great additions to the hotel's amenities. I was able to stay active and entertained during my downtime, which made my stay all the more enjoyable. Additionally, the high quality of the internet was impressive, with fast and reliable connection throughout my stay. Staff Finally, I cannot fail to mention the kindness of the hotel staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making my stay all the more pleasant. Overall, I highly recommend the Sonder Rideau Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable stay in Ottawa.

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sonder Rideau Hotel and I don't have anything negative to report. My experience was excellent and all of the hotel's features and services were of the highest quality. The hotel staff was friendly, the location was convenient, and the amenities were top-notch. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend the Sonder Rideau Hotel to anyone in Ottawa.

This furnished apartment had everything you need on a daily basis at your hand: microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge, etc. I heard from some people that some 4 star hotels in downtown with higher prices did not have these facilities. Very spacious and stylish contemporary apartment. Although, most people would not notice, some surfaces (tables, kitchen top, desk etc) needed more dust cleaning. I noticed it because I have dust allergy and therefore I had to clean those during the first night. The coffe filter was not washed either. Other than that, it was a very comfortable stay. The location was really cool with some beautiful residential area with fine dinings nearby. Some breakfast places were downstairs. Staff were kind and friendly. I recommend this place as a substitute of the downtown fancy hotels.

I wish there was a cleaning facility (or at least a vaccum cleaner) available because sometimes floors can get dusty, but this Sonder building did not have it when I tried to request a cleaning through the app.

The place was really nice and comfortable. everything mentioned below was given to us and the way the pictures show. I really enjoyed my stay.

Location was excellent, very close to major attractions and restaurants. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and easy to follow. Getting to your room with an access code makes things way easier so you don't have to carry a card or other things to access your room/main door. The luggage room is great and I was able to store my luggage for the whole day before my departure in the afternoon. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of storage room inside the hotel room.

Improve the cleanliness, I did find some loose hair in the bathroom, and closer to the bed. One of the pillow cover was clean however, it was stained.

Located in the center of Ottawa's attraction (Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal, ByWard Market, Elgin Street, etc) and subway station (Parlement). It is an amazing apartment! Clean, comfortable, spacious, very well equipped kitchen, and modern design - whole building actually. Blacklight curtain which important during summer. Check-in & check-out done in advance before the arrival online and we used the codes instead of conventional keys, but there is a front desk standby in case we need something on site. We had a pleasant stay and recommended Sonder!

Unfortunately, this is not good for a light sleeper or soundproof seeker. The thermostat / AC has a loud noise and we could hear noises from the hallway & outside the building BUT we appreciate on how Sonder Management try at their best to make our stay better: they put a note, provide ear plugs, and white noise machine.

A great location for staying in downtown Ottawa. The "Superior Apartment" was perfect for our longer stay, with a good kitchen (oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, fridge/freezer), a large living room, and a separate bed room. Friendly staff.

While the online/digital registration/check-in works quite well, I wasn't too fond of having to send a copy of my ID to some third-party service.

The location was right in the heart of Ottawa, walking distance to all of the attractions and great places for food. The size of the apartment was really great, we had a corner room on the 13th floor and was very spacious. People on previous posts complained about noise inside and outside but we didn't notice that much noise besides the usual city hustle. The noise from the inside comes mostly from the door so I imagine a studio unit would be a lot more noisy. Our bedroom had pocket sliding doors that we would close at night and didn't hear much hallway noise.

The place was clean except for the floors in the living room felt dusty and we would wear socks or sandals while inside. I'm sure if I had called the front desk or mentioned it to the cleaning lady they would have washed the floors but we were out and about most days it wasn't that big of a deal. The kitchen and bathroom floors were clean and everything else was dusted. Temperature inside the unit was a little on the hot side while sleeping, on our second night we had the bedroom window open to let in some air. I wonder what it would be like further into the summer months since there doesn't appear to be air conditioning in the unit or temperature control within the apartment.

Although we had zero view, it really didn't matter. We only stayed in the hotel for sleeping. That being said, the bed was the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in. The pillows were perfect. The duvet, although thick, was not overpowering and didn't make me hot. The bathrooms were beautiful, and the showers actually had water pressure. Front staff were helpful and friendly and even recommended some places to go eat! You're just a couple blocks away from Parliament, and even though it's loud outside, you don't hear a peep in your room.

Every so often, you could hear the "ding ding" from the elevator, and the provided coffee wasn't great lol. But there are literally Tim Hortons and Starbucks everywhere so you'll be fine
