Lovely, helpful staff! Very clean, comfortable room with air conditioning and newly renovated bathroom. Unbeatable location. Nice touches like bottled water, Nespresso machine, etc. They are clearly still renovating the interior, but I was aware of this beforehand so no surprises there. There was no noise, dust, or evidence of construction so it was really no issue at all.

My one suggestion would be to add safety locks on the doors! It adds a feeling of security for guests, especially women travelling alone.

Big place with tons of room to spread out in. Not even close to what I expected. I assumed we would get three hotel rooms strung together, not a place you could actually live comfortably in. I had my wife, daughter, and her two teenage kids with me for a weekend of Shakespeare, and the place was so comfortable that there was none of the usual feeling of being on top or each other. Three genuine bedrooms and the master was better than most bedrooms at home.

The staff tried, but they were not the first team. I don't know whether it was the time of day we arrived or maybe their computer system, but the check-in was painful. The main problem seemed to center on the fact that this place is part of a hotel system; even establishing that we had a reservation there and not at one of the other hotels was a problem. The people were friendly and eager to help, but it was a bumpy ride... They had nice parking accommodations but you had to reserve in advance and it was a squeeze.

My previously booked (BOOKING.COM) and ‘paid for’ hotel across the street (Rockwell Suites) had no check in person, no access to bldg entrance (locked door), a large For Sale sign on the building and apparently totally closed. It was mind boggling. I then had to scramble at last minute to find another hotel. Windsor Hotel was across the street with helpful check in person, one room, miraculously available, at this busy theatre time. On hearing of my dilemma, the staff offered an apt for same rate as their one available room. My friend and I felt very relieved and pleased with the accommodation, excellent beds and kitchen facilities ( tea, coffee maker, etc.). I was certainly not happy paying for two hotels which was not the fault of Windsor Hotel, but of misleading description on Booking.com re the other “hotel”. Windsor staff went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant.

Nothing to dislike

Great location! Apparently, the hotel has been renovated. I did not see what it looked like before, but it did look quite nice now. The room that we were in was nicely decorated. I especially love that there was no carpeting! I would like to thank one of the owners who offered to drive us to our car which was in the Cooper lot! Thank you!

The only thing that I did not like was that there was a slight odour in the room. I actually can’t even pinpoint was the odour was but it smelled somewhat musty I guess. I also think that hotel staff should be wearing something that makes them look like hotel staff. what I mean by that is, there was someone wondering a window on my floor, but if he didn’t have the bottle of windex, he could have looked like any hotel guest.

I appreciated the regular emails and text messages updating me prior to, during and after my stay. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Housekeeping was regular and done well. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

My only criticism is that room 300 should have the bathroom sink facets updated. It currently has one facet for hot on the left side of the sink and another facet for cold on the right side of the sink. It is customary to have a single central facet and knobs or levers for both hot and cold water. Do this and you have perfection.

The staff was wonderful and went over and above to meet our needs. The beds were super comfy and we both had a wonderful sleep. The air conditioner in the room was pretty quiet so it did not disturb our sleep. The location of the hotel is at the centre of downtown which made it awesome to walk to everything, and on the Sunday Stratford has a wonderful open market in the town square and we really enjoyed that!!

The size of the room was quite small but being a historic building, there isn’t much that can be done about that. The price of the room was a little high but I suppose June is during the peak season with all the plays and such going on at the theatres.

The hotel has been extensively renovated and updated while maintaining the historic character of the building. The bed was very comfortable. I appreciated having a refrigerator in the room. The hotel is conveniently located near all the downtown shops and is within walking distance of the theatres.

Sometimes the water was rusty due to the old plumbing, but you just need to let it run for a few seconds. There is limited parking available on site and it is very expensive.

The location was spot on for theatres, shops and dining. The hotel staff was efficient and friendly. The amenities in the room were comfortable, clean and spacious. Will stay here again.

Not really a complaint, but a lot of water bottles were delivered daily, more than we could drink and that could be an environmental issue. We didn’t really watch the tv but it wasn’t always reliable anyway. Maybe satellite problems? Again, no real complaints.

Antique refurbished hotel, but brought up to the current standards to make guest comfortable. Every stair case corner and the reception is beautifully decorated. Also the location is amazing, right at the heart of the town, next to the city hall.

The rooms are not centrally ventilated or temperature controlled, since it is an old building they use standalone AC to control the temperature in the room. We visited during the month of July and it was effective.

The bed was comfy. The room had its own climate control. The location was quiet. Good for walking everywhere in downtown Stratford. Nice to have a fridge as well as a Nespresso machine.

The bed was very high and not accessible to my daughter who is a double leg amputee. Therefore, it would not be accessible to anyone in a wheelchair. A stool would be nice for climbing in and out of bed.
