Fairholm Boutique Inns

We loved the location- we could walk every where we needed to go while enjoying the sites of downtown. We could eat out at the local restaurants, have a drink and not worry about driving- we brought our dog, which was an added bonus. The Inn had so much history, the grounds were well kept, lots of seating outside on the deck or in a gazebo on the property. We definitely would go back. My only suggestion would be if breakfast was included in the price of accommodations- but not a deal breaker.

The room isn’t sound proof and we could hear the people above us

As a solo summer traveller new to the city, I wasn’t having a lot of success finding accommodation for one night at a decent price, particularly since I had left my search rather late. I realized after some exploring that I could change my online search to “1” guest, and suddenly an available room popped up at Fairholm Boutique Inns for their Economy Single Suite (Brighton?). What a splendid find! The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Jake who stored my luggage when I arrived early and then graciously lugged it upstairs. In the morning, I had a delightful little chat with an older cleaner, which added brightness and laughter to my day. Heritage buildings have their particular charms, quirks and upkeep, and this one was no exception, but the quirks and upkeep were minor, and I much prefer the idiosyncrasies to the sameness of chain hotels. The yard is lovely and waiting to be enjoyed on a warm summer day or evening. In fact, there was a heat warning the day I arrived, so I was very grateful for my cool air-conditioned room when I settled in. The location is conveniently close to the Florence Simmons Performance Hall (Holland College), which I discovered when I decided to attend the Anne & Gilbert musical that evening. Finally, the breakfast was tasty, but the coffee could have been better (a vital beverage for the day’s beginning!) Overall, my stay was a delightful experience for my first visit to Charlottetown!

Location is excellent - you can walk anywhere and there are decent restaurants nearby. So convenient to have a good breakfast served daily and tea and coffee/espresso 24/7. The staff are terrific - very friendly and one feels at home. Very comfortable common living room where I could read and crochet.

I did think the breakfast was a little better in 2019 when we were last able to visit due to Covid. But that was at a different time of year so perhaps that's why.

Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and great location near the downtown. Nice and stylish place to stay if you like Victorian style. And it also has beautiful large patio with a lot of flowers.

There is no roof on patio part with chairs and sofas, so you can't sit there during rainy days. It is definitely something that could be improved.

We always prefer to book our stay with boutique hotels rather than large chains, and the Fairholm was perfect for us. The hotel is spread over three beautifully restored buildings. Although the original outside beauty was maintained, inside the rooms are modern with every convenience. There is ample off-street parking. Restaurants and shops are an easy walk away.

There was nothing to dislike about this property. From our initial greeting when we walked in the door until we left three nights later, it was a perfect stay.

There is a lot to like about this property. Let's start with the staff! They were so efficient and helpful, we had to check in VERY late due to flight issues and we were sent a video on how to do that. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in, in a long time. The room, albeit a bit on the smaller size, was beautiful and very clean.

Nothing. It was all really, really nice.

The staff were exceptional, especially Jake. They were able to check us in to the specific room I requested and were great about our last minute change to bring our toddler along. I even saw him go outside to shut the trunk of a guest who had accidentally left it open. The bed was fantastic and the hotel was very charming.

It could have been a bit cleaner, the remote for the air conditioner had grime on it and the bathroom is getting kind of tired- needs a new toilet seat and sink had signs of wear.

The personnel very welcoming, he was waiting for us. The breakfast was very impressive, quality and choice, bedroom spacious, very bright and nice ambiance in the lobby with free coffe machine. The location is great, close by and walk to restaurants downtown. The parking lots were sufficient all days we stayed (3). Great stay overall !

We had issue with the TV..could be us...but we asked the personnel who was very responsive and helpful. We were able to watch TV for the entire stay after he had resolved the issue (rainy weekend ...). We enjoyed our stay !

We had a great stay. It was very pricey and I thought we had booked a room with a washer and dryer but that didn't happen. We could hear the other guests coming up and down the stairs and it was very loud. We had trouble locking and unlocking our door. Apart from this everything else was great !

Fully stocked kitchen.the bathroom was a great size and the shower was massive! Location was perfect , right in downtown charlottetown. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Loved how contactless it was during covid. The garden area out back was beautiful. Very private. Liked the fact that we could sit outside our room and enjoy the beautiful garden outside.

There were a few cobwebs left in the corners of the bedroom. The pillows flattened out easily. The bed wasn't very comfortable. Needed to call for more towels and toilet paper as there wasn't much to start with in the room for 3 nights.
