Firstly, I must commend the hotel staff for their proficiency in English. It made communication effortless and enjoyable throughout my entire stay. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring guests feel welcomed and understood. You are all truly exceptional! Secondly, the hotel's proximity to the metro station was incredibly convenient. Shanghai's metro system is known for its efficiency and user-friendliness, and being located nearby made exploring the city a breeze. I highly recommend downloading maps.me for navigation, as it complements the convenience of the metro system perfectly. Furthermore, the nearby shopping center boasts an array of restaurants, among which Sue Dim Sum stands out. I absolutely adore their offerings and highly recommend indulging in a meal there during your stay.

Overall, despite the initial discomfort due to the lack of ventilation, the option to open the window and the quiet nighttime environment contributed to a satisfactory stay.

This review is for room in 21st floor. It's older but quieter. It's comfortable. Day 1, it smelt musty but the housekeeping superstar aired the room for me. It felt smaller than my previous renovated room on level 17 but as solo traveller, it was fine with me. I must say I've stayed in many hotels in different countries. Housekeeping service is very prompt and fast here. I am always greeted with a smile from the housekeeping lady. If you find the hotel breakfast boring, just walk around the hotel and get some local breakfast. A few of them open early 6-7am. Close to Metro line 2 and 10. Convenient if you are coming from Hong Qiao or Pudong. Short taxi drive to Shanghai railway.

Bar at lobby is closed during my stay. 30th floor lounge beverage prices is expensive and the happy hour buffet is always serving the same food which can be boring after day 2. I've stayed in quite a few hotels during this stay in China, I don't find reception or concierge staff very warm and friendly. They assist with any requests but no smile. May be it's the culture.

The hotel has multiple entrance and the one from the walking street is the easiest to find, just beside Haagen Dazs, will need to take the elevator since the lobby is one floor higher. The hotel is located conviently in a tourist zone and the bund is just walking distance away. The room is clean and has a nice view to the Shanghai Television Tower. The breakfast varieties is vast with both western and oriental food, although the choice remain almost the same daily.

The toilet amenities like toothbrushes, etc. had to be requested and not provided in the toilet as commonly in most hotels in China. There is a power outage in one of the morning that resulted in blackouts in the room and corridor, it would be appreciated if the hotel staff could at least call to inform and update that the elevator is operating to leave the room instead of waiting.

The hotel is located right on East Nanjing Road, a main tourist and shopping street of Shanghai. East Nanjing Metro station is closed to the hotel. However, as we have a kid with troller with us, we had to use the metro exit with an elevator, so it took us almost 10 mins walk to the hotel. The hotel is clean and smell good. We stayed in Suite which is specious enough for a family with 2-year-old boy. Breakfast is OK with selections of food from Asian to western. But it was packed and full.

The freezer in the room is not working. We asked the hotel to fix but nothing happen.

The hotel's location is unbeatable. Located right in the central city. The famous shopping street is literally at the hotel's doorsteps. Key attractions like the Bund are just an easy and enjoyable walk away. Despite the busy location, the overall atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and my room was spotless upon arrival. The variety and choices of the breakfast offered were also impressive, providing a great start to my day.

One minor inconvenience was it was a bit challenging to find the hotel entrance when arriving by taxi. While not a major issue, a clearer sign or additional guidance could be beneficial for first-time visitors.

Have stayed here before. Knew it was a great hotel and so returned. Perfect location in the centre 5 mins walk from The Bund. Great, professional and warm staff. Clean, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds and good aircon. Very good breakfast too. Very relaxed, grand hotel - was amazing to come back to after a days sightseeing. Amazing spa on the 4th floor too ‘Secret Garden’ . I will return to this hotel.

Only issue was breakfast could get busy for the number of tables available so had to wait 10-15 mins for a table. This was minor though as the staff were great and tried to accommodate asap.

In terms of location this is as good as it gets in Shanghai. Metro access under 2 minute walk. Direct access to Nanjing road, short distance to people square and tons of places. The rooms are comfortable although not very big. The breakfast is the best I have had in China and is well worth that of a high-end 5 star hotel. Bath and shower have strong water pressure and instant hot water.

Little to no facilities. If you added a swimming pool or something, this would be a top tier hotel. This hotel is meant for those who aren’t going to spend a lot of time inside the hotel.

Proximity to Nanjing walking street. But lobby of the hotel is on the second floor and must give proper instructions to drivers as many of them cannot find.

The breakfast was not good, the chefs are not hygienic as one chef put his hands into the spring onions bowl to dig for spring onions to fry the potatoes. I think he can wear a glove or use a spoon right? This happened on 29/1 around 9am ++. Was the Chef in charge of the fried potatoes section, next to eggs section. The breakfast was the same every day and very very boring.

The hotel was in a fantastic location on the main shopping street Nanjing Lu. My room was absolutely amazing - one of the best I've had and I really enjoyed the luxury of it and the size. It had great lighting effects and it felt like home!

Unfortunately the level of English of the staff was really poor and it was difficult being understood. None of the staff greeted me with a smile and I was there for 3 days. I don't think the concierge enjoyed his job as he seemed fed up with every question. I even tried to get him to call me a taxi for a meeting and he just waived me outside. I ended up having to ask a friend to call a taxi on a local app but I wasted about 20 mins trying to find one.

Location was directly on East Nanjing - access through the hotel lift which is very convenient. Very near the metro and restaurants, shops, People's Square and the Bund. Breakfast had a great selection and lasted until 10.30- which is perfect as I hate getting up early on holiday. Staff were very helpful and polite with giving directions to places and answering questions. English speaking was pretty good. Room had an amazing view of the skyline and was super comfortable and quiet. There was a currency exchange machine on the street level which was useful.

There wasn't an airport shuttle service.
