I was working remotely throughout my solo trip here and couldn’t be more satisfied with the hostel’s facilities. The lobby/bar is a great place for casual hangouts (and movie nights!), while there’s also co-working space in other floors for quiet work time and individual phone room for calls. Would highly recommend to solo digital nomads who are looking for budget stays!

It's a great place for solo travellers. The common space downstairs is big enough to socialise, there's plenty of drinks you can get at any time of the day. The location is right next to People's Square metro station (exit 19). The beds have the curtains that gives you a bit more privacy. Also the shared bathrooms are on each floor so there's a lot of space and no need to wait for shower or anything. The staff was really helpful.

- Their WiFi sucks. - The elevator was broken - but the staff helped me up with my suitcase. - The elevator repairs started every day at 7AM with heavy drilling, so no sleeping in. And considering that it's pretty noisy until midnight or 1AM, not much time to get some rest. Highly recommend earplugs - like for any other hostel actually. - My main issue was the room was much smaller, it was not the 4-people bedroom showed in the pictures. Basically, with 4 people and 4 suitcases in, there was zero space to live. And also no space to actually open the suitcase. Bunks beds, lockers and not even 0.5m of space left. I booked this hostel for 6 nights because in the picture the room was more spacious.

I would definitely stay here again as it was so comfortable and a great location. I extended my stay 2 more times. They give you drink credits, free laundry, slippers, and a towel. The beds are really comfortable and also private. They have a USB port to charge your phone if you forget your charger. The lobby was also nice to work with and nice that they had a lot of drinks to choose from. Jing Lu would make me coffee in the morning and it was really good. I know people live here long term so I was super happy and lucky that they didn’t put me in one of those rooms. Everyone in my room was transiting and leaving soon.

There is no dryer in the laundry so you have to air dry but the environment has so many clothes that your clothes will stay damp for days and develop a smell. My mistake. Don’t do laundry if you’re here for less than a week.

Very accessible and very central, the location is a prime! Really easy to get and near everything you need, from shopping to eating. The shared rooms were amazing: very comfortable and spacious bed with private curtains for each person. A locker was also provided (bear in mind that it does not fit big suitcases, only personal itens, so I would recommend bringing your own lock for your things).

There are a couple of stairs in the entrance which are automated (escalators) but that do not are turned on in the morning, so I had to bring everything upstairs in a bit of a hustle. The english of the staff is not the best, but manageable (considering we also don't speak chinese).

I had a comfortable stay at this hostel. Each bed had privacy curtains, which added a nice touch and made the shared space feel more personal. The shower area was clean and well-maintained, which I really appreciated, and breakfast was good. Overall, it’s a solid choice for an affordable stay

The mattress in my bed felt quite worn out, almost like sleeping in a hammock, which made it hard to get a good night's rest. Communication was also challenging, as only one staff member at the reception spoke English, making it difficult to ask questions or get recommendations. I think the hostel could really improve by offering some group activities for tourists like walking tours or pub crawls, which would make the stay more engaging and social. With a few improvements, it could be a much better experience overall

Overall, it was a great experience. The hostel wasn't too loud, but the (large) common area was pretty busy in the evenings, which is what I personally like. There was a good selection of drinks at the bar. You can leave your luggage if you arrive early or leave late. There's a lift to your floor and a safe locker for each bed. There was one bathroom on my floor, but there was never a queue to the sink or shower, which is very convenient. If you're confused about how to get to the hostel and think you're accidentally entering a restaurant, don't worry - it's just up the escalator. There's a restaurant just downstairs, and apparently it's good but I didn't have a chance to try. There's also a 24-hour open bubble tea place, a cafe, and a huge shopping centre round the corner, then the metro station is conveniently less than 10min walk. Although the rooms are not big, there's enough space for everybody's suitcases, beds are comfortable with a lot of privacy thanks to a little curtain on each. There are regular plugs and USB slots inside as well. You need to put your own sheets and duvet covers that you get from the reception when you're checking in. Again - not a big inconvenience, but something to keep in mind if you're checking in late. Gym is free and you get an extra voucher for a free beer or soft drink/hot drink.

Overall the staff was really nice and friendly but there was a language barrier, so don't expect to get detailed answers to your potential questions (although the two sweet girls on one of the night shifts taught me how to order food so I can't complain). The bathrooms were clean in the morning after the hostel's staff professionally cleaned them, but the sinks in the evening were not that clean (not tragic either), which is not the hostel's fault but rather the people who stay there (just something to keep in mind).

Great hub for solo and group travelers in center of Shanghai. A lot of local food around corner and western chains if needed. Main Nanjing road nearby. Clean comfy beds with air con. Best wishes to Rachel and Ruby from reception that helped me a lot and provided great customer service at every stage of my stay

There are washing machines but drying is done in big shared space hanging - I would prefer electric dryer :) nevertheless I did laundry twice and didn't lost anything :) Hmm maybe big shared bathrooms - but it's more about other people doing mess in them than quality of place itself

Great location, really central, 1 min walk to many restaurants and shops and metro. The staff were incredibly friendly, even went out for breakfast with them. Shout out to Xiao Lu, Qu and Long they made my stay all the more interesting. The common room was large and prime place to meet new people, but that also depends on who is staying there at the time, there were quite a few long term Chinese guests, they're usually rather reticent and keep to themselves, however if you happen to come across a friendly personality so strike up a conversation, as a solo traveller it makes all the difference. The staff were very responsive to reasonable requests, such as when I asked to change rooms as my neighbour seemed to be smoking in theirs, it was done without question.

I upgraded to a private room on the first night, while the room itself was great, it was evident that not many people stayed in it, the bathroom was clean overall what really got me was how dusty the long table next to the bed was. This was remedied when I alerted the staff, who were a bunch of friendly 'aunties'. Another thing was how small the room was there was virtually no walking space to and from the table, so we had to mission impossible across the bed every time we needed something from the table as there was no other table to use.

Very well located, clean and safe. Convenient shops, hugh shopping street and metro nearby. Very friendly staff (special thanks to Xu at the reception who helped me with a problem with an ATM Exchange machine that hold my money back and he helped me to get it back, it was great help). They have a good value breakfast. The lobby / bar / restaurant is a nice place to spend some time. Easy to wash clothes, with a separate room to hang and dry them. We had a private room for our family everybody got his bunkbed with curtains and lockers, we went to the shared bathroom and it was ok. We liked the the hostal experience for our family.

Excellent location, 5 mins walk from 人民广场 (renmin guang chang, or people’s square) subway station which has lines 1, 2, and 8. Line 2 goes straight to Pudong International Airport. Right off 南京路 as well, if you want to shop; if you go down all the way you’ll end up at the Bund. Friendly staff who speak both English and Mandarin; free disposable towels that you can get in unlimited quantities if you forget or didn’t bring your own (as I did). Can refill your water bottle at the lobby area as well. The bar has some really cool craft beers too, if you want to hang out.

There’s no system to check which bed is occupied, so I had to change two sets of sheets after realising someone was in the bed I’d intended to take. This is not totally the hostel’s fault, because some guests don’t remove their sheets when they check out. Toilet cleanliness is hit and miss, perhaps could do with more frequent cleaning.
