if you want to get the feel of a neighborhood close to the airport, this is perfect. We walked about 10 minutes to a family owned restaurant for dinner, and the next morning walked 10 minutes in the other direction and found a beautiful community park with pool and fish pond that was lovely. Convenient location for the airport, very clean, great breakfast. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Common area is very peaceful and relaxing.

If you like to walk around neighborhoods, there were some noisy streets and skinny sidewalks in this area. But that is to be expected because it is fairly densely populated and only 10 minutes from the airport.

Lovely little spot. Dora is an amazing host! A family run B&B. Free breakfast, but we were at the airport by 3:00 AM, so we missed out on that. Coffee and tea available in a sweet little outdoor eating area. Lots of Uber Eats available, TONS of rental cars right near by, $10 taxi to the airport (which she arranged, and just included the $10 in our fee to her). Super convenient. We stayed here on our last night before our flight out, and wish we'd come for our first night on our flight in, too. Great value for money. Not much of a view from the room, but there were real shampoo/body wash bottles available, which was nice. No fridge in the room.

Wouldn't have minded a fridge in the room, but that's about it. Loved the outdoor dining area!!

we love the care that Dora and staff provide. It’s personal, and they are very knowledgeable! Breakfast is great as well! they arrange for a taxi to get to the airport and they are always prompt. Anything that you need while you’re staying there Dora will help with. We had an issue with the toilet and she made sure we had a plunger. It’s the little things that make, your stay a little better. overall, it’s a great, convenient and clean place to stay.

The only thing I would change would be to put the TVs back in the room, and maybe bottled water? As of now, she provides a carafe, which is great! I’m not crazy about that particular area of San Jose either. Plus, unless you have a rental car, forget ride shares, or sometimes, even taxis finding you.

Very close to the airport, just 5 minutes by taxi. Well secured behind a tall gate and another gate. Nice patio and nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

When we arrived and rung the doorbell nobody answered the door. If it had not been for our taxi driver we would have been lost. Room was extremely small and very basic. Somewhat noisy, as the dining area is right in front of the room. Also there is a garage on premise, honing and hammering could be heard all day long. Add some dogs who loved to bark.

Very convenient location to the airport. Lovely hostess, very informative and friendly. Unique art posted all over the property. Comfy bed in a room where attention had been paid to detail. Breakfast was available. Serving supplies and area were provided if we wanted to bring our own food. Lovely plants and peaceful seating area.

If you are sensitive to noise, the sirport is VERY close, but that's why you are looking in this area, right? It's not walkable to shopping or restaurants, but area restaurants deliver.

The breakfast was amazing, typical Costa Rican gallo pinto with fresh juice, bread and cafe. The room was super clean and big, AC worked great. Our flight arrived late but we communicated through WhatsApp and they waited for us until midnight, wonderful service and everyone was super friendly. Very pretty art, lots of big paintings everywhere. Perfect spot to spend the first night, 10 min walk to rental car stations and they also have a great option to rent cars. We will stay there again. Spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable, sheets were soft and clean. Very kind hostess Dora helped ordering pizza at night since we didn't have a car. Whole place and the room were decorated with original paintings by her mother Maria. Very charming and elegant environment we enjoyed very much even though we were there for the early morning flight with their airport shuttle service at 5 am. 7$ fee was very reasonable for my husband and I, compared to a taxi. She let us make coffee in the moring at the patio kitchen, too. The location is in residential area. You might have to walk to restaurants or stores, or drive. They had key locks. I felt safe and secured and quietness at night helped me sleep well. I will definitely stay again. Thank you. DORA!

Casa Maria is a very nice place with excellent attention. Dora, the host, was attentive to our time of arrival and made sure we were able to access the place. She also made transportation arrangements for our next day departure. The rooms are roomy and clean, with nice beds and extra pillows. The common kitchen area amongst the rooms is beautiful and has a counter with coffee and tea that you can enjoy in the comfy sitting area. Be sure to have breakfast here! The spread of coffee, juice and hearty breakfast lasted us all day! From Casa Maria, we walked 4 minutes to the main road and found a good eating place- Cevicheria Costa Rica, also our rental car place- Hertz, was also very close by. Would absolutely stay here again!

The perfect place to spend a night before a morning flight from or an evening flight to Costa Rica. Close to the airport, great staff, fully equipped kitchen in the common area (microwave, coffee machine, plates, cups etc.). They offer airport drop off and breakfast for a reasonable price.

Due to its proximity to the airport, it can get pretty loud during take offs but that's something you have to expect when staying so close to SJO.

This was a very convenient stopover, a great place from which to catch an early morning plane. Dora was more than willing to offer advice about getting around and and organized an early morning ride to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable and the neighborhood safe enough to walk after dark. Wish I could have stayed for breakfast.
