Holiday Inn Express San Jose Airport, an IHG Hotel

Clean and comfortable. Very convenient for the airport with a free shuttle bus. Packed breakfast provided as we checked out early before the hotel breakfast started. Swimming pool looked good but we didn't have time to use it.

We knew there was a free shuttle from the airport but would have struggled to find it had one of the local taxi people not helped. We felt a bit uncomfortable accepting their help without knowing what the expected in return. The signage at the airport could have been clearer. Check in was a bit slow and we appeared to be invisible to staff on the front desk while we were waiting.

room air conditioning was incredibly noisy; everyone is staying there for the same reason: early morning flight out of San Jose airport, so it was a madhouse to get your food, eat, grab the airport shuttle. ended up waiting for 3 shuttles. our flight was at 8:50 am. breakfast starts at 6:00. it all worked out, but a little stressful having to wait for shuttle to return from the airport. this was at the end of the school spring break and was a busy time.

Stayed 2 Saturday nights bookending a trip to the coast, was glad to have chosen this spot, very generous check-in and check-out times, friendly and bilingual front desk that offers small-bill currency conversion, easy airport shuttle, comfy beds with pillow choices, loved the built-in sliding blackout shades. Everything was quite clean. Pool was chilly but pool area is well manicured and nice to spend time and watch the planes taking off literally overhead. Filling breakfast/brunch layout. Second night had microwave and mini fridge which was nice.

No major negatives. Prices at the mini-market seemed a bit high, basically the same as the airport (like $7 USD for 2 bottles of water). Stocking adult beverages at the market (and/or something like an evening wine/appetizer offering) might be well received by guests (if local statutes allow that) since close-by restaurant options are limited.

This location is very very close to airport so no problems getting there and no San Jose traffic issues. The breakfast is vast in has everything anyone could want. The bed is so comfortable. It is very close to the airport so of course you will hear planes. The Rosti restaurant is great with wonderful food and again yes you can hear the air traffic but the food is well worth it and very nice staff.

Yes it is near the airport so the planes take off over the hotel. May ask for room in the back next time we head to Costa Rica and the San Jose International Airport. But would probably still use Holiday Inn Express.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Normally holiday inn’s are t that nice but shockingly, this was a very nice hotel. The room was very nice and when my husband and I believed that we gotten bitten by mosquitoes, the staff moved us to a new room where we had zero issues thereafter. The shuttle goes to the SJO airport every 15-20 minutes and if you have to leave before breakfast starts they give you a Togo baggie. Proximity to the airport was great. This place really exceeded my expectations. Thank you

Guest traveling with anyone under the age of 18!! Please be aware that the hotel requires documents that support you traveling with such minor if you have a different last name... I understand the law and why it is a necessity. However, it is an inconvenience when you are not prepared or have any such documents with you. They allowed me to email documents from my email account, but it was if you have no such thing on your account or person, they will not allow you to stay. Again, I understand the reason, but it should be stated somewhere! Nor the hotel direct site nor Booking has this information. Another divorcee was also experiencing the same issue when attempting to check in.

Extremely close to the airport yet relatively quiet. Breakfast was outstanding, with hot and cold choices, fruit, breads, cereals, eggs, potatoes, bacon, rice, yogurt, beverages, and more. Excellent support and services with meals, check in, and information about the area. Excellent 24 hour free shuttle service - clean, fast and efficient. Dennys across the street offered 24 hour service including delivery to room.

We selected this hotel basically for it's very good placement. It is located within 100 yards of the place where we needed to return our rental car. The hotel then offered a free shuttle to the airport the next morning. The location is next door to a Denny's Restaurant and a Casino. The morning breakfast was much better than most hotels... fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, bacon, juices, coffee, etc

A little expensive for what it is (but I guess you pay for ease of travel to and from airport) They double booked the room we were in. Upon checking in we made sure we were close to the room of others traveling in our group, but when we went to go in to the room there were already people staying in there. Not a huge deal for us, but felt bad for the people we walked in on.

Location was close to the airport and within walking distance of restaurants. Staff was friendly and took care of everything we needed. There were two pillows for each person that were even marked soft and firm. Everything was labeled and conveniently located throughout the hotel. Towards the back of the hotel, there was a beautiful mural painted of the rain forest.

We only stayed one night. Did not have much time there. Did not find anything to complain about.
