I was hesitant to book this place as from all the colours in the photos I thought it might be a little 'hippy'. However, my concerns were set aside as soon as we arrived to a very friendly welcome from Luis. The room was huge, with an amazing view. We had the pool/jacuzzi to ourselves most of the time and my daughter and I enjoyed a full 90 minutes in the spa (which also has a wonderful view). The therapists were very sweet with my 7 year old daughter. In fact all the staff from the reception to the restaurant were wonderful. We only stayed for one night but next time we'll come for longer. As for all the colours, well, in context with the architecture and gardens - it all makes sense : )

Nothing - just wish we'd had more time!

The views were spectacular, from the restaurant, to our room, and the pool. We haven't even mentioned the lovely 5 waterfalls & nature hike! Breathtaking. Our room was incredible. The balance of unique colors, flow of natural air and feng shui, with the capper for us all being that gorgeous mosaic shower with open air to the zen garden. Simply awesome. Our dinner including all vegetarian food & delicious cocktails was excellent. The service and breakfast were also superb, our best breakfast in Costa Rica. We've stayed at many nice hotels but this is our favorite.

There was nothing we did not like. Literally. And I consider myself a discerning traveler.

Lovely quirky rooms, spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - delicious buffet and menu choices with a stunning view. The trails around the property were stunning, as were the gardens and pools. Staff were lovely - super friendly and helpful.

We didn’t arrive until 10pm after a 3 hour delay to our very long journey to Costa Rica. At this time there was no possibility to eat anything at the hotel or get a meal delivered - the location is quite isolated. The lovely lady on reception did her very best for us, kindly providing extra snacks, but it would be good to make it very clear to guests who might arrive late, that they should eat before travelling to the hotel.

After arriving in San Jose we drove to Xandari for our first night's stay. It was enchanting and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Our dinner and breakfast were delicious with an amazing view of San Jose.

The only negative was that the room lacked any sound insulation. Apparently, a neighboring property has several dogs who barked into the middle of the night. Access to a sound machine would have been nice. Birdsong in the morning was amazing albeit a bit loud.

I loved the fact that’s it’s a resort but it’s in the nature and not crowded, like a boutique resort. Wonderful room, amazing view, nice environment and atmosphere. Good breakfast with a view. You can hike to waterfalls from the hotel, inside the resort ! And there is a little farm with animals, my child loved it. Not far away from the airport so that’s very convenient when we arrive/depart from San Jose and there are plenty of things to do around, including visiting the volcan Poas.

The view from our villa and the restaurant was spectacular. We felt very safe at all times. Lots to do at the resort - the pools and hot tubs, hiking to see the waterfalls, beautiful walking paths through lush jungles and exotic flowers. We were well rested after 2 nights, and would love to return one day. Nancy at the front desk is super helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The food - for breakfast, lunch and dinner was spectacular !!!

Beds were perhaps getting older, and not as comfortable as I would expect at this price point

The facilities are beautiful and you can tell that thought was put into every detail. The rooms are comfortable and you feel like you are on a living work of art! We had breakfast each morning as well as dinner in the restaurant. The food was maybe the best that I had in Costa Rica and the service was exceptional. Servers like Evelyn made us feel like we were family. There was a nice pool and hot tub steps from our villa that we always had to ourselves! Our visit was capped off perfectly by their tree planting program. We were able to plant an apple tree and they created a stake with our names and date to go next to it, all free of charge. We look forward to see how much it has grown when we return!

There wasn't anything outside of the property that you could walk to. There were plenty of things to do like visit coffee plantations, wildlife refuge, etc within short driving distance. Very close to airport (SJO) Otherwise, nothing could have been improved on.

The location and views are spectacular. The gardens are amazing and the art everywhere is unique and interesting. The staff are wonderful and so helpful and our room was beyond comfortable.

The restaurant was okay but nothing special. It did not match the quality of the rest of the resort ... not terrible but just bland and uninspiring though the service was superb. If we had stayed longer, we would have sought out other restaurants.

The staff were all most helpful and really good at their jobs. That includes those working at the front desk, to wait and cleaning staff, to those working in the Spa. The breakfast was ample and included as long as you didn’t want bacon or a cappuccino. Dinners were excellent for a reasonable price and our waiter even showed some good wine pairings! Can’t wait to go back!

Everything was great except for my face down time on the massage table. There wasn’t that extension that most tables have for the crescent pillow thingy to support your face or at least a hole in the table for your face. They had the crescent pillow but my face was flat against the bedding and it was hard to breath so the first 30 minutes I focused on staying alive. So thats my first world problem for the day😎
