Buena Vista Chic Hotel

The view from the hotel was very nice! There’s a garden/trail within the premise, well maintained and beautiful. The room I stayed in was spacious, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly, hospitable, and helpful. The amenities included in my room were better than I expected. It was a great place to stay before heading back to the airport. Shuttle service and breakfast were included. A ride from the airport arrived very fast and comfortable. Wonderful service overall and I really enjoyed my last day in Costa Rica!

My experience at the hotel was excellent, however, a bar or a restaurant near the hotel was playing quite loud music by DJ on Saturday night till 9pm or so… which was unexpected by the look of surrounding neighborhood- a very quiet and nice. But this is not related to the hotel itself, it is somewhat bearable, and the party was over before 9pm so it was not a big deal to me.

Lovely hotel in the hills above San Jose- perfect if you aren't keen on heading into the city before/after a flight. We liked the hotel decor and lovely surroundings. We also highly recommend the pizza restaurant across the road (La Zompopa) for very good value pizza with a friendly service. Nice swimming pool and grounds for reading/chilling out before our flight.

We weren't allowed a late check-out, despite the hotel being quiet, which was a bit disappointing given the price we paid for one night.

Lovely small hotel close to airport but in a pretty location. We stayed here on the last night of our holiday so we could easily get to the airport. We were disappointed we weren't there for longer! We didn't get to use the pool but it looked nice. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable and the complimentary toiletries luxurious. They were very accommodating by preparing a lighter meal (off the lunch menu) for our dinner which we organised in advance. The breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, gorgeous views. we didn’t use the pool, but it looked very inviting. not far from the airport. The food at the restaurant was very good. Make sure to walk the little coffee trail on the property. The staff was amazing and helpful. Getting to the airport with Oscar was a breeze.

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Good quality food in the restaurant Nice grassy terrace with loungers and chairs to enjoy views of the mountains and nearby volcano. Near to the international airport

Corner room #23 seems very private and has a nice view of the pool and the city. Bed was most comfortable of all we had in Costa Rica. Shower space was good. Staff was gracious and helpful, especially Lucia at the front desk, who helped us with transportation across town when Uber was unwilling to take all our luggage.

Presentation of food was nice but quality was average. Location is wonderful for views but requires a car or transport to go almost anywhere else. One restaurant was within 1/2 mile walk.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Very nice decor with good attention to detail. The view of the city was incredible to see with an evening drink. Breakfast was great and had a good selection. Free shuttle to the airport was also a great addition. Staff were very responsive to our questions and helped organize things

No complaints. We didn’t have a car so it isn’t the easiest place to get to, but we knew that when booking. Ubers were relatively easy to get.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was wonderful and accommodating. We booked a room for a short stay over between destinations, we had an early flight to catch the next morning. We got in at 9pm after the restaurant had just closed. The staff knew that we had traveled a long ways and that we had not eaten, they reopened the kitchen with a limited menu for us to ensure we had a meal before bed. The food was delicious! They also made us breakfasts to go for the morning because our flight left before the restaurant opened. They arranged for a 4:30am shuttle to get us to the airport on time, there was a 25 dollar charge because it was outside of normal shuttle hours, it was more than fair. The hotel was clean and quiet and we were sad to spend such a short amount of time there. We would love to come back and stay longer.

The guys working during the breakfast shift were amazing! Friendly and funny. And the breakfast itself was really good, did not expect it to be that good. Most of the staff was really nice actually. The location to the airport is perfect as you're only a 10-15 minutes drive away but you don't feel like you're in an airport hotel. The view is just lovely.

The hotel is nice but I think they need to fix it up a bit. The paneling above us on the balcony had been ripped off or rotted away and it wasn't pleasant to look at. Carpets in the room were a little stained and the room had a little musty smell because of which we kept the balcony door open all the time.

The rooms, though not as large as one would think, are very well appointed, the grounds lovely, the breakfast excellent. We had dinner there twice and the food was quite tasty and well presented. The staff, without exception were incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel is situated in a small town, so there are options to walk around, go to a Mirador, and eat/snack elsewhere if so inclined. The airport shuttle is great. Even better was being dropped off right at the adjacent lab where we had to take PCR tests.

Somethings seemed to be geared to big Americans: the food portions and the size of the pillows, which looked great but were impossible to sleep comfortably on (I was able to get a marginally less big one the next day). The pool was always so very cold! We spent our last couple of days in CR here waiting for PCR tests results and hoped to be able to enjoy it more. It was, to say the least, bracing, no matter the time of day.
