I loved the room, the bed and shower. All very clean. and comfortable. The common area has a lovely atmosphere and is really nice to sit in during breakfast. The kitchen is very clean and very well equipped. I stayed here my first night in San Jose before travelling and booked it again for my last night. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back here and can highly recommend this hotel :)

There was nothing I didn’t like. Just loved the place. it offers everything you need.

This is a great budget hotel, and we were very happy with the service. We would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a simple place near the airport or to explore Alajuela for a day. Both our room and the common areas were clean. It was nice to have access to the free bread and condiments (honey, margarine, and jams) in the kitchen so that we could make a quick breakfast before heading to the airport at 3:30am. Alejandro was very helpful with setting up a ride to the airport. Wifi was strong and the showers were hot. Perfect for someone looking for a hostel-style small hotel without lots of people. It was quiet while we were there.

No issues.

Very short easy drive from the airport - you can park right outside - and a friendly welcome. Help-yourself, all-day style kitchen that was perfect for what we needed (we made scrambled eggs on toast, with fruit and tea/coffee in the morning.) Nice little garden for sitting out. Our room was small and quite traditional in style. Bed was comfy, great shower and toiletries and impeccably clean. Very good value. We also recommend the Tamarind bar just around the corner for friendly staff and ceviche. Alajuela seems a nice little town. It felt safe and people were friendly. Helpful phone shop next door if you need to sort out a sim card.

For the price I can't fault it.

We flew into San Jose after dark and wanted somewhere to stay before heading down to the coast. The hotel was perfect. We arranged a pick up from the airport for $5 and the journey was around 10 minutes. Quiet road with no real frontage but once through the door we entered a haven of tranquility. Great kitchen and lovely garden and tea/coffee/bread/eggs on the go all day. Room was spacious, beds comfy and shower was hot. Felt really safe, too. Great “back-packing” vibe - loved it and it was a great start to our holiday.

What a lovely place to spend the night in San Jose. It's family run and you can tell the pride they take in running such a well thought-out place. There was access to breakfast food at all times so if you left in the early morning you could eat. The bed was super comfy and the AC worked well. A lovely little basket of toiletries were presently nicely on the bad. Lovely hosts with great suggestions. Close to good restaurants.

Nothing!

I loved the old house, which was apparently built by the grandparents of Alejandro y Esteban. Clean, comfortable room and bed. Alejandro was really helpful and drove me at 7am to the airport for my flight. I was only there one night so did not have a chance to try the breakfast or use any facilities Despite reading a description saying that the Wifi was only in the public areas I was able to get it quite well in my room, which was the furthest from the main house Really nice location near the main square and nice restuarants. Alajuela is a pleasant little town and much better than staying in downtown San Jose

I wrote a few times to get directions about how to get there on public transport. I think I would have liked the arrival directions to be clear

Friendly and helpful owner. He offers an airport transfer for a very good price. We also went to a place for our rental car, and the owner helped us with the transfer to that as well. He was very easy accesable for any question we may have and he speaks English very well. There is breakfast for you. You can make it yourself any time you want. The room has everything you need and it's comfortable and clean. Also, there's a shared room with tables and chairs. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the airport. I enjoyed my stay here and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be close to the airport or in this area for another reason.

The breakfast was self serve and very generous with lots of choices. It was also an all day breakfast so if you needed a snack before bed it was there for you. The management prepared fresh fruit each morning—plentiful and very fresh. We opted to take the service provided by the hotel to the airport. It was easy, very fairly priced, on time and friendly. This was the hotel we stayed at the night before we travelled. I recommend it highly. The traffic in San Jose is awful and I can’t imagine worrying about getting to the airport in time when you have this option. There are several decent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We made our last night part of our vacation. Nice to stay in a place with local character and connection.

We have no criticisms.

The host Esteban was very kind and helpful. A very comfortable bed to rest at arrival at San José or prior to going back home. There’s a kitchen with everything necessary to make your own breakfast and it’s close enough to the airport but not too close that the sound of the planes can perturbe your sleep.

The curtain of the shower could be cleaner, it would be nicer to have someone make the breakfast since I don’t get around too well outside of my own kitchen, and it’s a shame there’s no parking at the place but I would definitely stay here again.

Location to airport is great, only a 5 or so minute drive so super convenient when flying in or out of San José, they offer a lift to airport for $5 which takes the hassle away. There’s a supermarket nearby which is handy, and access to kitchen to cook own bits if needs be and breakfast is supplied but cook yourself which was great as I had an early flight.
