St Raphael Resort

It’s as per usually a very nice environment, the staff is lovely, it has great facilities, the food is nice and convenient.

This time around it was not as clean as all the other times we visited, and also we had really loud neighbors (the walls seemed non sound proof at all). It was mostly the cleanliness though. I’ve never had this issue at St Raphael before but this time it wasn’t great.

The staff are all very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was great! We visited during off season so the hotel was lovely and quiet and as a result the staff couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed the beach, the indoor pool, the room, the in rooming dining. And a side note for the maids who always kept the room looking nice and clean. I very rarely write reviews but credit where credits due, it is a fantastic hotel and we would love to return one day.

One negative i could give is its away from the city centre, but this could be a positive for others. We had a hire car so it didn't affect us and there was plenty of parking spaces.

Google says the hotel was built in 1985 and even though they have done a good renovation within the last ten years, there still a lot of basics to fix. you go down to the pool and tiles on the stairs are cracked and can cut your feet. for breakfast there is only this terrible quality coffee machine. for a five star hotel it should be possible to get a proper cappuccino, especially at this price.

Excellent customer service, very accomodating for our children providing two cots and highchairs at meal times. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We came in low season so many amenities we're not available but indoor swimming pool was nice enough for a dip. Breakfast buffet was extensive and of good quality, particularly at the weekend there was a huge selection including a vegetarian/vegan hot section which is quite impressive. They delivered a bottle of wine and some fruit to our room after check in. Lots of additional touches that mark it out as a 5* hotel.

During low season there is not much around (within walking distance) if you want to eat outside the hotel. Family room was a little bit on the small side (we were warned about this when we requested two cots so we were prepared). The hallways and bathrooms are a little dated in some areas but all clean and functioning.

Excellent labelling and choice of vegan foods. Staff were very attentive and friendly We had the opportunity to meet the owner and senior management at a celebration which was lovely. Shout out to Alexa at the Seashells vegan cafe.
