LOVED Barcelo! The front desk staff is the BEST! Great location. Great breakfast and dinner buffets. Liked the pool area. Enjoyed the spa services.

Lacked info in the room as to buffet/restaurant hours of operation, room service and location of pool or spa. Had to ask several staff. Room service staff was NOT great. Barely knock before coming in the room. They don’t identify themselves. And don’t seem to come at set hours.

if you are traveling for business I think the Barcelo is the best in Santo Domingo. I have stayed in other places that charge more and offer less. Pool is also nice and if you book a superior room you have access to the 9th floor terrace. (Superior rooms still less than other hotels.) If I am traveling for work I will always stay here. Super reliable Spanish chain that offers way more than American hotels (Hilton) where everything is an add on and prices are higher. This hotel is also a good stop in Santo Domingo if you are traveling elsewhere in the DR. Staff is nice.

The Barcelo StoDgo is one of the first best hotels of the city, you can find on your city map. The location is perfect for business, work and travel! Just 30 min far from the airport on directly way, but the access to the hotel is a little bit complicate, so you need to use your AndroidAuto routeplanner! But if you find the way for the first time, its very easy to get. The hotel has an own parking lot and normally is big enough for all the guest, but if there are any congress events, you need request your own place in front! The rooms are big enough and very comfortable for you mate and/or novia, you can enjoy the Queen size oder King size beds. The bath room is also good and big enough. Very good feature: they have an amazing raining shower, you will love it! And another bonus in the bathroom: a small stool, indeed! This is a feature, you miss so much in any other hotel. They offer you a complete full mini bar, but of course this is not for free! The hotel itself have a good restaurant for breakfast and dining. There ist another Japanese restaurant and a bar. All these are in good conditions and offer you good service for high prices. Another good solution is the Metro station next to the Plaza cultura, which is close by the hotel, NO other hotel in StoDgo have an access to public transports, only taxi.

The aircondition just allow you only cooling your room, the fan and the aircon are a little bit oldstyle. For this the rooms feels a little bit cool. For the heavy cooling there is another bad fact, all the bed and the carpet feels a little bit clammy. But this problem every hotel in the Caribean have. The hotel is very good for visit one of the government and ministry buildings nearby, but not for any other sightseeing. The hotel has a small backery nearby on the area, but no other big supermarket.

The place has gotten an upgrade. The rooms were very nice, the service outstanding and the food delicious. We had a wonderful experience at a very reasonable price.

The internet. It was sketchy. My son couldn’t connect because you had to have an email and my connection was terribly slow and it stopped working at times. Also, if you turned off the lights, the plugs stopped working so you couldn’t charge your cel by night It was a pity that there was too much people in the pool because they allow for day pass and don’t give priority to people staying

The location - the decor- the pool - the restaurant were all great

I tried to get clean towels for our room 5 times in the span of 2 days and not once were they brought to me. I asked the cleaning ladies when I saw them in the hallway twice, I called room service twice and then the morning I was leaving I tried again and o never got the clean towels. I ended up just grabbing towels from our by the pool to use in the room.

It is in the business center of Santo Domingo and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, with a variety of choices.

That housekeeping was not good. They left only one towel every day, even though we told them we were a couple. We called the front desk to tell them, said they were going to send someone with the towels and never came.

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable beds, and nicely decorated. The breakfast was great with so many options!! The staff was incredible, so helpful and some of the kindest people I've delt with, will definitely stay here again!

Only down side of this room is that there isn't a microwave, any food we had as leftovers had to go in the trash due to not being able to reheat it at a later time.

Confortable bed and pillows. Excellent service. Huge breakfast. Very good and Variety of food at dinner buffet. Inviting pool and well-kept gardens. Nice bar. Very clean.

We made an upgraded to room 706. This hotel is an old one. Its infrastructure is well cared for, but unfortunately objectionable odors come out of the bathroom leaks. We opted to add perfume but it's still disgusting. We did not ask for a change because the stay was for one night.

I lost my purse at the bar. I called at 4 am when I noticed. However, the waitress are very aware when one sits and move s to another area to accommodate you, but they didn’t call me to tell me my bag was left behind. I had 4600 pesos in my bag and when It was returned I only got 3400. I didn’t complain because I figured your staff took their tip in advance.
