Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo, an IHG Hotel

The staff, and the staff ... what an amazing bunch of friendly Dominicanos. The welcome mat extends all over, everyone is friendly, from the front desk all the way to room service, cleaners, restaurant staff. The hotel is placed in a privileged spot in Santo Domingo's seafront promenade. The city has been maligned for insecurity, but that does not apply to this part of the city. Of course, a large part of the city is unsafe, but the seafront promenade is highly policed, and lots of families enjoy the afternoon breeze with children, babies in strollers, and a nearby fair, clearly visible from the room windows, all this makes the hotel surroundings safe and easy-going. I haven't walked on the backstreets, but at least the large promenade is amazing. The fair is lots of fun, with wheel of fortune, etc, with folks walking-dancing to the tunes of bachata in loudspeakers. Views over the sea from rooms in higher floors is spectacular, especially at dawn. The food is amazing, you find Dominican and international options in the breakfast buffet, great coffee, and dining options through room service are top-notch, including cod in clam sauce that melts in your mouth and an otherworldly seared octopus. Food is a bit pricey, but worth paying for. I can't wait to get back!

Hotel is typical colossal 5-star hotel, where you get what you pay for. Room was nice and aircon efficient. Room service was fast and most of the food was, thought slightly overpriced, anyway good. Bandera Dominica was excellent and tasty. Pool area typical for hotel like this. Sun all day and not enough sunbeds (please add more). Small gym for training. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Reception staff spoke good English. Breakfast had good selection and staff were very friendly. Download Uber and you are able to go anywhere with low fares. I will definitely come back.

We did not have anything special to complain.

The front lobby staff were so friendly and helpful. They were eager to assist with anything!! I felt very comfortable & well assisted!! The proximity of the hotel to restaurants and the shoreline are a plus! The pool area on the 2nd floor is beautiful to watch the sunset each night & plenty of space & seating areas. The area was never crowded!

The housekeeping staff did forget to restock washcloths, hand and body towels a few times. A call to front desk and someone came to deliver the missing towels within 2 hours.

Well, the Breakfast were perfect and I enjoyed it every single days. The Room was nice and big I did enjoy it more and more especially with the view.

Big question - One day of my stays while walking by the Pool after Breakfast. A client from the I believe the from the 3rd window was showing his PRIVATE PART AT THE WINDOW FACING THE POOL. Also, he was NAKED COMPLETELY. I did report it that incident to the Security and Front Desk. Not what I expected it from that hotel but that passed

The breakfast was very good ,I would add some breakfast potatoes. The location is a very good location. The hotel was not loud. The pillows and the mattress was The Best I have ever slept on !!! They were so comfortable that I took pictures of the name on the mattress and pillows because I now want them for my home in the U.S.!!! If I could purchase them from the Hotel I would. EXCELLENT !!!!

There was no room service menu in the room. There is no directory and no information about the Hotel placed in the room. There was no refrigerator Casino was confusing , all the betting , minimum bets , payouts were for pesos.

Oh my God I enjoyed the Room the Bed was so Comfortable - The view was perfect but will need one with Balcon next time One thing I did not like was Crowne Plaza charged me $17 + for breakfast even I had breakfast included but I called to bring the breakfast to me in the room Not a great thing to do - I should not be charged

Did not like the charge of my breakfast because I requested to be delivered. One of the Supervisor was not kind at all - Even when I was checking out today 3/2- He Worked in the morning and has some a little white hair - I considered him to rough when asked questions He did not provide me a receipt when I was leaving and told me that will be sent by email Also, was telling me to pay some other charges that I contested - Like a deposit for Security that should go backto my card the lady told me when I was checking in on 2/25 Issues like that should be checked Thanks

Breakfast was excellent as always , the staff is really nice and friendly. make your stay feeling as a family. our room was perfect and view relaxed.

I can say that maybe the price of beer and food at the Bar.

I was assigned a corner room without proper space I had already booked and paid for. No change was done

Perfect location. Amazing staff. Clean facilities. Rooms big and beds very comfortable. The buffet breakfast is open for a long time from 630am to 1030 am, no need to get up so early. Free Valet parking all the time. Overall really happy with our stay.

I commend the hospitality and professionalism of the entire hotel staff!! They treat the guests with utmost respect and are always available to help if and when needed! The hotel ranks amongst the cleanest l have ever been to, with modern facilities that befit hotels of its standing!! The staff at the front desk as well as those serving breakfast at the restaurant are just terrific and l very much appreciate the wide variety of their breakfast menu. I strongly recommend the hotel for those visiting Santo Domingo for work or vacation, and l look forward to staying there again!!
