The Zona Colonial area of this adorable hotel is great. I was able to walk to so many places of interest, including waterfront Malecon, Columbus Park, Ozama Fort, Ruins of San Francisco, Larimar Museum (def recommend), Colonial Gate 4D Cinema, many restaurants, parks, bodegas, grocery stores, ATMs. Nat'l Palace & Cultural Plaza aren't far either. It's also easy/inexpensive to get Uber rides from here: I used it to go to Tres Ojos & El Faro Colon. The included breakfast was substantial: egg, pancakes, bread, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee, etc. Lovely rooftop terrace with nice views and breeze to enjoy it on, along with swinging chairs and a spa/shower. Extra touches were much appreciated: shower cap, clothes steamer, small safe, fridge, microwave, hangers/closet area, a desk, toiletries, GREAT A/C & Wi-Fi, TV w/Netflix, spacious room w/comfy bed and extra chair. I had my own personal terrace w/lovely plants & bicycles. The décor of the room had a local flair. Kind and thoughtful staff. I really enjoyed my stay and was pleasantly surprised, especially for the good price.

It is in the city, near a lively square / bodega; so you might want to have ear plugs if that kind of noise bothers you. Insect repellant is advised, as well.

The location is perfect, the staff is great, and the room (particularly the bed) was very comfortable. We enjoyed the daily breakfast on the roof, and felt it was excellent value for money.

Our room was loud at night, anyone coming into the lobby was clearly discernable and the park next door was rowdy well into the night over the weekend. However, we know there's not much the hotel can do about this except warn people.

Very good location in the historical centre. Decent breakfast at the terrace.

I ordered a taxi to the airport and they put me in a taxi with other people going to completely different direction. Which was a bit annoying and unreliable. However, I succeed to be at the airport in time.

The location is very nice, the staff was very friendly! Very very clean. The smell of the cleaning products was a little overwhelming.

If you have a car during your stay, please be aware of a guy that charges money to park on the public street of the hotel claiming that it’s his community and that it’s “his job” you are not obligated to pay him what so ever. We told him that it’s not ok what he is doing, the hotel staff know about him as well. We ended up giving him 100 pesos just to settle the matter. He is just taking advantage of people who stay in the area, and that is not ok.

Location, jacuzzi on the rooftop, very clean and comfort. Very nice staff. Breakfast on the rooftop was also good. The appartment is practically in the center of Zona Colonial. All of the must visits sights are nearby.

It was a little loud at night because of the nearby cafes. NOTE: the parking on the street in front of the apartment is supposed to be free, but one local guy is standing there most of the time and asks for 200 pesos per day for the parking - Do not pay him, tell him you will call the police or just ask the receptionist at Studio 27 Colonial for help.

The girl with long braids working at the front desk, she's a goldmine for you owners! She introduced me to the hotel last time I was in Santo Domingo. This time, she gave me a historical "tour" telling me about all of the decorational hat's in the room. She went upstairs to the rooftop for a view. She is excellent! What put's down the review a bit is when I was going to pay for that bottle of water at check out, I had 100 dop and sorry to use this words, but typical dominican style there was no change... So the guy at the front desk made a profit of 40 dop instead of cut down my price to 50 dop (which I had as a bill). It's not the amount of money really, it's the typical way to do it that pisses me off honestly. Small pieces that disrupt my experiance of the hotel. Besides from that, perfect location, comfortable beds e.t.c

Loved the staff, neighborhood and overall location. Definitely liked the cleanliness of the overall common areas and the helpfulness of the staff.

One of the features that I was looking forward the most was the Jacuzzi availability on the roof, which was completely out of service for the entire 10 days of my stay.

The staff was great, very attentive, and the breakfast varied and delicious. The terrace is well decorated. In general, the place is wonderful.

Would be good to clean a little bit more the Jacuzzi ( it didn’t call us ). Internet in the first floor (room next to the administration) was very poor. Not the same in the second floor where it was very good.
