A very stylish hotel with a cozy inner courtyard. The room was clean and bright, and the hot water worked—quite a luxury in the Zona Colonial of Santo Domingo. We only stayed for one night and needed some rest, so overall, everything was great!

As mentioned in other reviews, there’s no elevator (which was fine for us). The water heater was right next to our room (No. 4) and made noise 24/7—10 seconds every five minutes. A bit overpriced considering this issue. The included breakfast was just coffee and almonds, so we went to a lovely café two blocks away—Granier on Calle Las Mercedes 57—highly recommended!

This hotel is in the heart of the Zona Colonial, very near all of the main attractions that run from the Plaza Colón along the Ozama river past the fort and all the way to the Plaza Hispanidad. You will find plenty of shops and eateries on the same street and within a few blocks of the hotel. The room was clean, the A/C unit very new and the patio with balconies had a very colonial feel. The room decor and layout also evoked colonial times. If you want something modern, then this wouldn't be the place, but we felt it was an authentic boutique hotel. The bar / restaurant was lively on the weekends and the Peruvian cuisine was great.

The breakfast was pretty good, the coffee was very good. The staff were mostly pretty friendly and helpful, but I would say the breakfast was a little basic. Toast, eggs, fruit and we didn't like any of the fruit juice we tried. But the quality was good and definitely enough of a meal to get you through your morning activities.

Everything. The food, the decor of the hotel, the location, the staff are very helpful. My husband loves zona colonial so I thought this would be the perfect spot. To stay in the colonia zone, this will be the to go to hotel. Now… I didn’t know there’s another one in las Terrenas. I want to visit that one also.

Not that I didn’t like.. but it would’ve been helpful if it had available upon request things like an iron to iron clothes, or toothbrush (some kind of hygiene kit) even to charge it to the room. The water was not hot enough. It wasn’t a problem for me but my husband likes hot showers in the morning. I personally think cold showers in hot weather it’s amazing.

Awesome location close to bars, museums, plazas and many monuments. The space is a cozy building with lots of seating around the patio. Room was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was great. There's a bar/restaurant in the same building, with excellent drinks and food.

The only thing I would change is that the air conditioner kept making a noise, not unbearable, but for someone with sleep disorders, might prove challenging.

Great location, great style and lovely lush patio, clean, mainly super friendly and knowledgeable staff, rooms and room amenities are not overly lavish but neat, good bed, pretty decent breakfast. And I wish they had a Mosquito themed goodie line with those fabulous towels etcetera!

WiFi was a tad unstable and did not always reach my room, and breakfast took quite a while a couple of times. Besides, sound isolation is average Caribbean (so nonexistent) so your night rest seemed on how other guest behave.

The setup of the place is amazing. Gorgeous vines falling from the ceiling, cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was simple, but delicious. The staff was kind, helpful and gracious with my party's logistic problems as we were attending a wedding close by and there was quite a back and forth. Everything worked well wifi, netflix, etc. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again, given the opportunity.

A shame it didn't have a parking lot, but didn't surprise us either. In La Zona Colonial having parking space is a real luxury. The bedrooms were a bit smaller than I expected, but everything was clean, crisp and orderly. Really, the only thing I can mention as "dislike" is that there was a delay for getting into our room because of an issue with the air conditioner, but even then the hotel was prompt in fixing it, and it didn't affect our stay at all. Great service over-all.

Accommodations from the staff, everybody was super friendly. We loved the amenities, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Also, the location made it possible for us to walk safely everywhere. We hope to stay again soon.

There were a couple of things that could improve our next stay: First, the price of booking.com was different from the one at the property. Second, the bathroom door had a little trouble closing, and we believe the breakfast options should be advertised better. One person from our party didn't eat eggs, which was all that was offered. We would love to have at least two breakfast options next time or if the property would've let us know about the breakfast beforehand. Overall we had a fantastic time and would love to visit again.

Amazing property! Very clean, warm staff and beautiful courtyard. Great food and drinks at the bistro as well. We also visited the Mosquito Social Club which is a 2-3 min walk from the hotel which was great for a night out. Will definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting and would love to check out the other Mosquito properties.

I booked with mosquito for location, a fair price, and it's appearance. It is definitely boutique My Girlfriend who likes plants loved it and the breakfast service was great. It didn't disappoint. I felt safe and so did she. The beds were soft and comfy. I would definitely go back. It has a charm. Stayed many places but this place has a place in my books.

A last-minute change of plan saw us spending a night here at the Mosquito and we wished we'd had longer! This chic little boutique hotel is brilliantly located in the Colonial Zone - on a quiet, pedestrianised street but a short walk to the shops, bars and restaurants of Santo Domingo. We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room, all of which are set around a charming courtyard. Ours was inward facing, compact and smart with an excellent bathroom and comfortable bed. We loved popping into the lively hotel bar for a cocktail before going out and the breakfast in the morning was excellent - as was our extremely charming and accommodating waiter. All in all, a fantastic experience.
