This is a beautiful property near the historic town of Aix-en-Provence. The old town itself was well kept with limited auto traffic, narrow streets, lots of shops, excellent restaurants and frequent markets around the many squares. The grounds around the property were exceptional with walks around gardens, olive orchards and a pine forest with a view down on the town. The accommodations were very comfortable with an arbored patio, dining area, and spacious bedrooms. The proprietors were kind, charming and most helpful to a group of weary travelers looking for a nice peaceful stay.

Excellent Liked · Our host, Florence, was approachable, friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. She went out of her way to assist us with suggestions of what to see in the area. Our rooms were luxurious, spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The whole property, overlooking the french countryside is fantastic. We had a car so it was very easy to get to the nearby towns. The breakfasts had an abundant of options, were absolutely delicious and beautifully laid out. Our stay was exceptional and we would highly recommend this property. We would love to return.

Everything was exceptional and there was literally nothing that we felt needed improvement.

Florence is a fabulous host, the grounds are beautiful, and the room and bed are big and comfortable. We couldn't get over how well done and thoughtful everything was and staying here having wine/cheese at the pool and on the terrace at night was one of the highlights of our trip. I recommend renting a car and driving to downtown Aix, it's very easy with a great 3 Euro parking option.

We absolutely loved our stay at Domaine de Saint Clair. The rooms were spotless and the property is beautiful. Florence (the host) was amazing - she met us when we arrived, gave us a tour around the property, and provided breakfast every morning. We loved hanging out by the pool in the afternoons and the proximity to Aix-En-Provence. Will definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay here! The property and lodging were idyllic and serene, just beautiful. It was very clear that all the small details were carefully designed for the guests’ enjoyment. Florence was a wonderful and gracious host, and so helpful with suggestions for the area. After a continental breakfast to start each morning, we explored the nearby areas of Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence, the Calanques, and the lavender fields of Valensole. We hope to be back soon.

Beautiful, expansive estate less than 5 kms from the heart of Aix. Newly renovated, spacious bed and bathrooms. Thoughtfully stocked common kitchen and ample included breakfast. Stunning pool amid formal gardens. Charming outdoor pergola and terrace for relaxing and breakfast.

I couldn’t figure out how to open the shutters in the bedroom in the morning.

Where do I start? First, the communication with the hostess, Florence, prior to our arrival was very nice, friendly and accommodating. The property is very easily accessible from the Marseille airport, and is close to major roads leading to the locations we visited while using the domaine as our base. We appreciated the quiet and secluded property, the swimming pool and vine-covered terrace in front of the guesthouse. The olive orchard and the park-like estate surround the house. The room we stayed in was exactly the same as in the photos, properly cleaned and stocked with fresh towels, slippers, bathrobes and pool towels. We stayed here mid-July and the room was always cool. Lavender scent throughout the house was a very nice touch. Breakfast was served in the common kitchen/dining area, with the tables set on the terrace with the views of the estate. Different sorts of bread, pastries, meats and cheeses, as well as sweet spreads and confitures from the local producers, juices, teas and coffee, and fruits. Florence was always available for advice on the places to visit, chateaux, vineyards, restaurants and museums. We found many printed guidebooks and cards to pick what to do and where to go. This was easily one the of our best stays, with facilities on par with the luxury hotels, but the personality that no hotel can offer.

What’s not to like?

The rooms were very comfortable - super big and had every single detail one could ask for. Every corner of the property was very beautiful. The host Florence is so kind and helpful - she gave us great recommendations and one day served breakfast earlier to accommodate our early departure.

Such a lovely location. being only moments outside the heart of Aix-en-Provence. The accomodation was spacious, meticulously clean and beautifully decorated and presented. Florence, our host was so lovely, and welcoming, helpful with directions, restaurant bookings and information. Breakfast was beautifully catered for with many delicious options. Will definitely recommend this to all.

Everything was just perfect. Lovely cozy intimate place with beautiful surroundings. Florence was really nice and gave us lot of recommendations. Breakfast was fabulous and the room was incredibly big and comfortable! Highly recomendéis for couples. If you are a family of 6 it can also be great since there are 3 rooms.
