Great location in old town near harbour and lots of restaurants and bars. Good breakfast, regularly replenished but can be difficult to find a seat at peak times. Air con but able to open window. Leftover croissants and pain au chocolate left in reception for guests. Although no kettle in room, tea/coffee making facilities in reception.

Can be a bit noisy as in a busy area if window left open. Only one lift but not too many floors so stairs are an option. Not many hangers or space but there are hooks for coats. Bathroom a bit on the small side but space to lay out stuff. Hairdryer got too hot and switched itself off as it wasnt very effective

Very friendly staff and kind to help -- got to the hotel earlier and was able to check in ahead of time and get some rest from an early flight. The reception staff was very friendly and gave great restaurant recommendations and even helped me send my ring forgotten in the room after checkout -- thank you so so much! Very central location and easy to get to places

Location was 100%. Breakfast was far more than we expected it was lovely food was replenished all the time, pure orange juice machine, lovely breads and pastries. Bedrooms were spotless, mattress cover was a plastic type which we removed. Need to replace duvets with summer togs they were lovely but very warm. Free tea and coffee facilities at reception area which was a lovely gesture. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Good value for an excellent location in the old city close to the port, museums, & shopping. There was no safe or fridge in the small room, however, there was enough storage for clothes & our ‘stuff’(we travel light with only backpacks). There was a bench for suitcases. The bed & pillows were comfy and all linens very good & clean. Good hot shower. The big TV had 3 English channels for news. The WIFI was not as efficient as our other hotels but fine(we’re not working). The included breakfast, starting at 06:30, was very good with many choices. Near the reception desk is a table for guest tea & coffee & snacks for later in the day. A unique idea is to offer guests, in exchange for NO room cleaning, a chit for a glass of wine or beer with nuts. We enjoyed this daily as our ‘Happy Hour’. There’s an attractive, comfortable sitting area in the hotel lounge & bar. A few staff speak English. Everyone was very friendly & helpful.

The style of the hotel, the welcoming and efficient staff, the good quality of the breakfast, the great central location and the warmth of the room. Loved the innovative green idea of a free drink for two if you decide not to have your room cleaned.

The room was on the small side with just one chair, no desk or space for taking a drink together. It could be a little noisy because of the central location. No drinks making facility in the room.

we have stayed here a few times now on our way south because it is dog friendly . its a good hotel in the centre of town, big beds and a good buffet breakfast. paid parking in the place verdun about 5 mins walk away.

the hotel apparently have a discount rate for parking in the place verdun. i paid at reception on checkout, got my ticket, walked to the car park and put my ticket in the machine but the barrier would not raise, not very happy people stuck behind me. too far to walk back to the hotel to complain or get another ticket, so i paid again at the car park machine to get out . also dog not allowed into breakfast area so had to take it in turns to eat. why not set aside a small area if you are dog friendly.

Like real estate: location, location, location! comfortable room and bed, very helpful staff.

The carpeting in the halls was designed to look like a cobblestone street with trolley tracks don the middle; the end walls were painted in tromp-l’oeil versions of shipping containers. perhaps it’s trendy, but also a bit weird!

Top location Staff were just so helpful Close to all the bars, restaurants and shops Comfortable beds Clean room Parking is by way off local carparks where ibis has a preferential rate. Very ibis. I would always put this as my 1st port of call at La Rochelle

Shower in room. Glass door came only part way across so water came out onto the bathroom floor and soaked bathmats. Fridge and mini safe would be more than useful Glasses in room would be a bonus

Room had great view but was long and narrow and two beds left very little space to move around in the room
