Cozy small bedroom on 1st floor with small window on large wooden terrace, overlooking a large square and city views. The wooden terrace is shared with other guests. Late arrival was possible thanks to a keybox. Bed linen very comfortable, very nice feeling of being at the heart of the city yet truly quiet. Great bars and restaurants only minutes walking distance.

Nothing, it was perfect. I guess that when guests decide to gather on the terrace and chat in the evening it may create some noise disturbance as the bedroom window is just on the terrace, but I did not experience any of that, and it would not be a big deal.

On arriving at un Hôtel en Ville we had already left a hotel due to a bad room, Vanessa was fantastic right from the start she spoke excellent English and due to our previous situation she immediately decided to upgrade us to a larger room free of charge, the room was lovely with separate shower room and toilet, the bed was very comfortable and whenever we left or retuned to the property the staff asked if we were ok and couldn’t have looked after us any better.

Nothing I could think of to mention in a negative way about this property or staff. all I would say is there is no lift but we were asked if we needed any help uk move our luggage into the room

This was the perfect hotel for my stay in La Rochelle. Vanessa was very welcoming and gave me lots of helpful information about the area. The rooms were very clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel is just minutes away from the harbour and all the bars and restaurants but it's in a quiet area and I could sleep really well. I loved my stay there and would highly recommend to other travelers!

Let’s start with the most impressive aspect of the hotel: Vanessa the host. she made the whole stay so easy and enjoyable we kept on thanking her. we told her we trusted her taste and judgement and she arranged all the restaurants for us. all were perfect choices. she makes the hotel special. otherwise an excellent location, municipal parking in front, the hotel is very clean. rooms are simple small but comfortable and for a short stay like less than a week it is pretty good.

Central location. A few minutes walk from old pier and numerous restaurants Spotless. Modern decor. Breakfast IS available contrary to details on booking.com. Bed very comfortable. Shutters. Good air conditioning. Water and toiletries provided. Wonderful host Vanessa and staff were so pleasant and efficient. I would definitely stay here again. Be aware that when given the entry code that the front door is heavy and requires a good push to open

Vanessa was such a delight. I booked my stay here based on reviews of the staff (as well as location & design) & I couldn't have been happier. She was so helpful trying to get us a taxi & incredibly sweet to follow up if we got to the concert we were in town for. The room was very nice & I enjoyed the design. I also adored that there was a hair diffuser attachment with the hair dryer in the room. A true rarity any woman with curly hair will be thrilled to see.

Lovely rooms, compact but well thought out and very comfortable. Location was excellent and very quiet.Free water supplied was a bonus. Vanessa was a star! Communication was excellent -she sorted out a taxi for us and made sure it arrived - she couldn't have been more helpful. We also met two other staff members at check in/check out and they were also delightful. Will definitely recommend and stay again if we are in the area.

WiFi was a bit patchy but only a minor issue.

Beautiful location. Lovely entrance right onto the square and near the harbour. Breakfast was all locally sourced produce. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and given fantastic information on where to walk and eat that evening which was spot on.

Our room was quite small. If you are staying book a bigger room if one is available, if you are staying for more than one night.

I loved the owners, Vanessa and Julien were exceptional. Vanessa contacted me ahead of my arrival to ensure she was prepared to meet me. After a long transatlantic flight and train ride to the gorgeous La Rochelle, she whisked me immediately to my room and it was wonderful to catch a quick nap. The room was comfortable and quiet, with a lovely air conditioner and cozy bed. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and my hosts were delightful to chat with. La Rochelle is a perfect seaside town and I look forward to returning to Un Hotel en Ville for my next stay!

My room was a little cramped….ok for a couple of nights but maybe problematic if staying longer. Also wi-fi problems in my part of the hotel
