We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas and it was fabulous. We had a small kitchen area and table in our room so we could make breakfast and simple meals - though a good buffet breakfast can be bought for €9. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable, warm, clean and bright and we enjoyed use of the swimming pool on several occasions. Towels for the pool are available free of charge and there is also secure underground parking for €9 a night - though we parked for free right outside and didn’t use the car at all during our stay. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk to the aquarium and 20 minutes from the Vieux Port. There are some places to eat near the hotel but La Rochelle is full of amazing restaurants, cafes and bars and the walk along the sea wall looking at the 3 towers is breathtaking.

Our only problem was finding the hotel as the satnav kept taking us to a footbridge. We managed to find our way using Google maps on the phone.

Room was clean, bright and comfortable. Breakfast was substantial and fresh. pool was lovely for a relaxing swim, but entry ladder was unstable and awkward. location was good for my purposes.

on an occasion of some urgency I found myself trying to communicate with a receptionist who appeared did-inclined to be helpful. a fellow guest translated for me, and eventually helped me to resolve my need. I was dis appointed by the absence of concern for my welfare as displayed by the staff member.

Staff were very friendly and spoke reasonable English (much better than our French). The hotel was what we expected, but very conveniently located for the local attractions. On site parking is expensive, but the free on-street parking was not really a problem (it could be at the height of summer).

There was a good choice for breakfast, but we were puzzled by being charged for 3 of our four breakfasts (I thought that was included when we booked but couldn't remember). A different Receptionist on the last day said we had already paid! Having arrived in France at 4am and then driven to La Rochelle, we were disappointed to find the only places you could buy a meal between 14:00 and 19:00 were Burger King and McDonalds. Everywhere advertising food were only selling beer, wine, Crepes and occasionally ice-cream.

The property was in central La Rochelle 15 minutes walk from the railway station and handy for the shops and restaurants, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette was nice. The balcony is nice to eat your breakfast on weather permitting.

The steps to access the swimming pool do not seem very safe as they move when climbing in or out of the pool. Also in the swimming pool either the roof leaks in wet weather or it is condensation as water was dripping on my towel and newspaper. The waste water in the bathroom was slow going away due to a blockage in the apartment below, but the receptionist phoned me on the second day to advise me of this. It was obviously a major problem as it was still not fixed when we left 2 days later.

After reading lot of negative reviews the night before we arrived, my expectations were very low and I almost cancelled but on arrival, the building looked modern and the reception area neat and tidy. The interaction with reception staff was professional and helpful. Checking in was quick and easy. So far so good! Our first impressions on entering the apartment was how fresh and clean it smelled. It was spotlessly clean, had a large sitting room with a sofa bed and a separate large bedroom and large bathroom. (we had booked one for 4 people as we wanted a sitting/tv room, separate from the bedroom ) The kitchen area was well equipped, comfortable, good heating and plenty of hot water. We stayed Thursday to Sunday and found it quiet with very little noise from neighbours. Certainly no more than to be expected when living in an apartment. The underground parking was good and we were warned there was a tight bend but we managed it in our Ford Galaxy down and up which quite a long vehicle. We decided to try out the swimming pool. It had nice warm water and was a good size for a workout. It was about a 10 min walk to the Old Port or local mini supermarket.

I would be nit picking to find fault. ok there was some staining in the hallway carpet but that is all. Will use again and recommend to my friends.

The room was appropriate for a stay of 5 days, as I needed. Excellent location, well equipped kitchen, very friendly staff, good value for money. I recommend it for everyone who want to spend the holiday in this superb town.

I cannot evaluate the swimming pool and the breakfast, since I did not benefit them because of my very tight schedule.

I was concerned this would be too far out of town, its not, walk to the end of the road and there is a little electric boat for a euro takes you across to the centre. It doesn't take that long to walk into town. The receptionist we dealt with Corrine was superb, very friendly and helpful, a pleasure to deal with. We only stayed one night but the facilities in the room would be very useful if you were staying longer

We only stayed one night if I was staying all week I would prefer a safe in the room.

The room was clean and comfortable and the location is just 15 mins walk to the historic centre of town, buffet continental breakfast was €9 each. Only downside was no one at reception until 3.00pm to 7.00pm so when we checked in we had to wait in a queue for about 25mins.

Unable to speak to anyone unless you arrive between 3.00pm and 7.00pm

Friendly staff, well equipped apartment, clean apartment, location is within the walking distance of the city center. Breakfast was good for its price.

I could smell cigarette smoke in my room late in the evening, even though doors and windows were closed. Maybe it was the location of the room (next to the outdoor patio).

provision of fridge hob microwave and kettle was good although not used by us on this occasion. The swimming pool was likewise clean and a nice temperature, disappointed that the steam room was not working. The treatments weren’t very well promoted. Whilst access to the underground parking was challenging, it was well worth it in the knowledge that your car was safe from knocks and bumps when using public parking. I believe the parking availability should be advertised more clearly. Self serve breakfast was plentiful and well worth the extra payment.

Tea, coffee and milk in the room not replaced, or easily available at Reception.
