The hotel has a very good location if you want to be near the Perache railway station, but it is not so practical if you like to walk to other parts of the Presquile and Vieux Lyon because it is on the southern end of Presquile and you have to walk under or over the train station to get everywhere. We ended taking the tram and connecting with the metro just to get to Place Bellecour and then start our walking tours of Lyon from there. The rooms was nice, a good sized bathroom which seems to be recently renovated. The breakfast is great, big choice of food and drinks. The staff was very very polite and friendly.

I expected that for a four-star hotel the room would be a little higher end. It was small and we felt a bit cramped.

Breakfast was terrific. Lots of choice and helpful staff. Reception staff,particularly Camille and Lucy were brilliant and helped us so many times wuth a few problems we had with the room safe and my phone! Quiet room, nice decor, good bar area.

Lack of readable room information, the safe was on a weird angle on the cupboard floor and you had to be a double jointed gymnast to use it. Location needed a rather unpleasant walk through wet railway tunnels to get to the centre, lots of rough sleepers and ' dodgy looking' characters there. Few restaurants on the hotels area.

Very convenient location, with close parking (at the train station). We've got a very unexpected upgrade to our room, just by reserving through booking.com, which we fully enjoy (with a wonderful view towards the church) and a spatious balcony to enjoy the coffee in the morning. Very comfortable beds and pillows, black out curtains for the most relaxing sleep. Apart from coffee and tea in the room, you also get unlimited water (plain or sparkling) in the lobby (nice touch!). Easy check-in and check-out and we've got a Christmas Beer as a ''Goodbye'' gift :) This will definitely the first hotel on the list next time we're in Lyon!

Smart, sophisticated, very impressed with the Reception help. A rather grand hotel in a good situation for anyone arroving by rail particularly

My particular opinion, as I have difficulty walking, was that I had to go to the annexe, not in itself a problem,but if the weather had been very rainy I felt apprehensive about crossing the artificial grassed covered walkway, in case it might have been slippery. However the annexe was just as good itself as the main building and there was an extensive and delightful garden. I would certainly choose it again.

Very comfortable beds and friendly staff. Clean and well equipped rooms. Balcony. Really easy to take public transport. Family of 5 travelled on a 24 hour ticket for 6.90! Good breakfast selection.

The breakfast room is far too small for the size of the hotel. The excellent staff were working so hard to clear the tables and hurry people along to free up space for the people queuing. My plate, cutlery and coffee cup were taken before I was finished and the 2nd day we had to sit with a stranger as we were an odd number of people.

We did not like that the WC is separate from the bathroom. We would prefer a shower instead of the bahtub - difficult for elderly people to get out of the bathtub, at least some handle is needed. The breakfast was fine, but too long queues at the coffe machine which often breaks down. The supply of eggs, bread and cheese were often behind. But we liked the hotel.

The interior garden and tented area was a welcome and comfortable place in which we could wait until our room was ready for use! I would say this feature of a refreshing green colored environment was the primary reason we loved our three nights in this hotel. But the room itself and our generously sized balcony were also much appreciated. Glad I chose that option. Watching the sky changes (including a rainbow) from our balcony reminded me of sitting on my home's deck in Indianapolis. Secondly, it was close to all kinds of transport and we also enjoyed several walks in the area known as Confluence. The two trams we took to get to the airport on our final day were very convenient and easy to figure out. We also highly recommend Brasserie George for the most delicious meal we had while visiting France. It is so close to Hotel Charlemagne and walkable.

Well, there was one wobbly table on the patio outside the breakfast area . . . that needs to be fixed?

The location was great, close to the old city, public transport., breakfast was nice, but they are short of staff, when it is busy one man can not be at different places at the same time.

The superior room that I booked was quite small, there was no fridge, no sleepers and a bathrobe. Also, correspondence fryhe hotel was only in French, I didn't understand a word. I have asked them to make our room extra special because I booked for our anniversary, and nothing has been done, not even card with “ congratulation😟

The hotel is very clean. Rooms are comfortable bed is very nice. Nice headboard. Staff at the counter are very polite. They clean the room every day.  metro is one minute away and another one six minutes away, which is super comfortable.  there are restaurants down to sit or just take some food and enjoy yourself with a meal in the garden. Convenience outlet is also a minute away.  they kept my bags after checking out. Coffee and tea facilities.  it was a comfortable trip for me. 

I would prefer more channels with English language channels. If there was a fridge it would be better.

Very good. The room was very quiet. All rooms are located deep inside the complex and none of the rooms have windows to the avenue where the entry is located. So, it was really quiet and calm. Room was tidy and had everything I would expect from a hotel room. Hotel has a pool table, water dispenser with sparkling water. Location is good, close to metro, tram and a big supermarket (like, 7min walking to supermarket and 2min to transport) Front desk works 24/7 Definitely recommend.
