Reviews was so poor I expected the worst, just wanted somewhere cheap near to the station. Winner! I can’t really see how you can pay what they charge and expect more in Paris. Yes stairs but it’s all quirky and expected. Lights, are on a timer switch just find it! Shower small yes, but it works! If you want more pay more if you want cheap with a good location this is the place!

Front of house fell asleep and nearly didn’t let us back into the hotel …. Only downside to the stay.

The hôtel is convenient for a short stay. There are not many services available, beyond a simple reception in the entrance corridor, but the room is comfortable enough and you can get a coffee and some pastries, including gluten-free, at the bakery at the corner of the street. The price is very fair for a stay in Paris.

The step to come out of the shower is surprisingly high and some tiles are broken. The quarter is popular but nonetheless secured.

Surrounding location was slightly dodgy and slightly far out, but was only a 5-10 minute walk from the metro, and a 10 minute ride to the centre of Paris at a very cheap price. Room was good, get what you pay for, and staff were lovely and accommodating

Staff was helpful. Room basic but adequate, good sized. Small towels and kettlejug given upon request. Just beside a nice mosque, nice people around.

The door to the room stuck, difficult to close. Another door did not softclose resulting in complaint of the noise from the door.

The location it's near the metro's station and 15 minutes to Sacre Couer. The recepcionists are very friendily and polite.

Stuff's attitude. The best for this money. Not so far from an underground station.

Before booking, I have read a lots of reviews and didn't make great expectation about facilities. Actually, there are many positive things about this hotel. The staffs are excellent. Almost of them are middle-age men but all are helpful, friendly and good at English enough for communication. They provided me a free Wi-fi password (a really strong one), a paper cup and a free bottle of water upon arrival without asking. The room is neat and bright when the large window is opened. The lights are ok to read book at night. There are necessary stuffs like a medium towel, shampoo and tissue (some reviews said that I need to ask the staff but I didn't in this situation). As it's located on a small street, night at there was really quiet (I was at the 4th floor). The hotel is really near to the Château Rouge metro station, around 5-10 minutes on foot. Around there you will find some of the most cheapest food store. I found 1 nearby bakery that sells crepe with chocolate for only 1.1 EUR, which I hadn't experienced anywhere else during my trip. Finally its price is extremely good for an individual room, even I booked just 1 day before my arrival. One of the cheapest price in Paris.

Can be categorized into 2 groups: facilities and neighbourhood. This is a really old building without any recent renovation. There is no elevator, and the stairs are just medium size, so it's quite difficult to bring your luggage into higher floors. The smell is not really good. It isn't something stinky but a mixture of varnish paint and musty. The first thing I need to do after get into my room is opening the window to have some air ventilation, and this issue is mostly solved. The corridor is dark and the light switch is hard to find. The door and wall paint are cracked. The blanket is comfortable and don't have strange smell, but there are some stains and small tears. The toilet is small and clean, but has some smell from the old waterpipe. About its neighbour, the hotel is on a small street with lots of immigrants from African, so it may cause some uncomfortable feeling. However as I observed the locals are still having normal daily activities and there are no hassles, arguments or beggars, I suppose it's still safe for a lone traveller like me.

staff very helpfull. helping us to carry the luggage to upstair also waiting for us to get a taxi in front of the hotel. might be around the hotel a lot of drugdealer indeed.
