Hotel Equis by Elegance was a delightful hotel, one of the best we've stayed at. The location was ideal, near two different metro stops and several bus lines and still in a safe, authentic neighborhood with restaurants, pharmacies and services. The design concept is bold and well-done. Tons of color and fun accent like copper-pipe lighting. The fairy lights in the bathroom grout delighted my teen (hard to delight a teen!). The rooms are European-small but plenty big enough. The beds are comfy. We stayed there twice, one room in the back where we had absolutely no street noise. The room in the front was still very quiet unless you had the windows open. The best thing about the property was the staff. They were very hospitable, allowed me to speak either French or English. (Sometimes the French will only speak English to Americans.) When I got sick, they insisted on arranging a car service to the airport for me, and I was very grateful. When there was a problem with my in-room safe, they had it replaced within the day. The 24-hour coffee/hot chocolate machine is a nice touch. The elevator is typical tiny, but I was grateful for it after a long trip. There is a nice full breakfast available, but there is a lovely boulangerie just two doors down if you want a lighter option or want to pick up a picnic. The property is super clean. In short, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

All the staff were really friendly, the room was quiet and easy to access on the ground floor (but they also had an elevator for higher floors). The room was nice, clean and cozy. We slept soundly every night - the black out curtains in the room was fantastic and the air conditioning functioned well. There were fresh towels every day and the bed was made which made it lovely to come back to. The location was a bit further out then expected but it wasn’t a loud neighbourhood and had wonderful food options nearby and close to lots of metro stations to easily get to all the tourist attractions. The front desk was staffed most hours and were helpful in answering any questions. Would stay again and recommend to friends.

The hotel had very bright coloured artistic decor. The room was small but was perfect for a solo traveller and very clean. Loved the shower with its twinkle lights! It was in a great location, close to the metro and some very good restaurants and cafes nearby. I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, I suppose it was good as I saw quite a lot of the guests having it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very reasonably priced for the location.

Would have been great to have a kettle in the room so I didn’t have to get dressed and go to get a coffee from downstairs and enjoy it in bed! But the tea and coffee were freely available so it is not a complaint!

I liked everything about this place. The staff was very welcoming, everyone was super helpful and pleasant to talk to. I arrived early, they made it happen that I could get into a room within 30 min. The hotel is beautiful, room felt cozy, it was facing the courtyard and was very quiet at night. The area is very convenient, the street feels like a beautiful Paris neighborhood street, with small shops, places to eat, cafés of course. It is close to Opera Bastille, and well connected via subway. I enjoyed my stay here very much, will come back next time when I am in Paris!

I can't think of anything. Some people might find that this room is small, but it was fine for me.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms are small but as you'd expected in Paris The decor and quality of the room was really good and clean. The lighting in the rooms is inventive and the bathroom was very clean and nicely designed. The staff at reception were really friendly and helpful. There's a coffee machine in the downstairs breakfast area and you can get a hot drink at anytime for free. We were left bottles of water in the room and these were replaced every day. The toiletries were Rituals brand! The hotel is in a great area - there are so many great restaurants and the area is vibrant and buzzy. The Metro is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and it's easy to walk to Le Marais and Place De La Bastille.

I loved the location of the hotel. Lots of shops and pastry spots. There is one on the corner that is amazing. The hotel is clean and the decorations were pretty cool. Our bathroom had little lights inside the tiles. It’s on the quirky side I guess, but so fun and unique. There is a cool big spacious staircase and a cool, BUT very small…the most it would hold is 2 people MAX. There were 2 doors to the actual room, so you have to have some muscle to get in. That would be a drawback for some, because they were very heavy, but personally it made me feel safe. The breakfast is on the pricy side (16€)each, but I have to say that I’ve never seen a buffet like it. It had the most “Paris” breakfast I could imagine. To list everything they had in would take forever, but definitely worth it if you are gonna splurge, and just option after option. The staff was amazing! They were so helpful…always. They let us drop off our luggage early so we could explore the city and leave if after checkout so we could finish up our trip with last minute fun. Paris was amazing and we were so happy with the hotel, we would definitely stay again!

This is a beautiful, quirky, cozy and comfortable hotel. The receptionists were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The room was very cute, and decorated in an unusual, fun style. Most importantly, everything was super clean and smelled fresh. I also liked the little touches, such as the different kinds of lighting in the room and bathroom, and the Rituals soap in the bathroom. Finally, the neighborhood seemed quiet, cozy, and clean. There's a bakery two doors down from the hotel.

Honestly, there was nothing that "could be better." We were just mildly confused by the fact that there was a door in FRONT of our actual hotel door. As in: there were two doors.

The hotel is excellently located. There are so many great restaurants, bars and eateries around (a good distance away from the 100% touristic and expensive places). Also, it is well connected to many sites in Paris. The staffs are really friendly and polite and we enjoyed our interactions with them. Daily routine room cleaning is also done promptly and well.

The room is quite small for the price but this is expected from Paris - I suggest travellers to REALLY use the shelf/closet. There is also a sewer smell from the toilet, but there is not much the hotel can do much (maybe some freshener?)

Complaining about the room seize is not an option, because we knew about how small it was going to be! What we really enjoyed was the location! Very cool area, no too touristic but still lively and close to a main metro-line. The beds were quite comfy and everything was clean. Also the bath was nice, it has some mini ambience light bulbs in the walls, this looked very beautiful. Even if the colourful facilities are not everyones taste, you can spot that there is a concept behind it, which makes it kind of fancy. We were very happy about having chosen this hotel!

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Exquis. It is in a great location. Not very central, but we knew that before booking this hotel. With metro or bus you can go anywhere in like 20-30 minutes. You can reach disneyland in an hour by metro also.There are lots of shops and restaurants around which are open until late which is good (the area is not dodgy at all which is a plus for tourists) and the metro station is also very close, maybe about 10 minutes walk or so. The hotel rooms are very tiny but it did not bother us as you only need the room for sleeping, you are out the whole day exploring. The internet was good, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly even thougj she did not speak very good english. We will stay here again when visiting Paris. Thank you.
