It's a hotel that occupies just one floor of a historic building (the old-style lift with double doors was charming!), in the LGBT neighbouthood, which gives a special ambience in front of the building and the street it is on. The entrance is right next to a relatively big gay bar, and it could be noisy for some rooms, but in the room I stayed, the outdoor noise was not at all heard (see the noise issue inside the hotel below). The staff were helpful (although not the most efficient), the room had a nice high ceiling with cool decor, and it was very well cleaned. I did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
I was cold (mid-September) and I wished there were an additional duvet in the room, but the staff had left at 10pm and I only felt cold much later. An electric kettle (or a coffee machine!) would have been nice. I also heard a lot of noise INSIDE the hotel - the floor squeaks a lot and you hear people walking and talking along the corridor, as well as the doors opening and closing. This was too bad.

Small boutique hotel taking up the third floor of a beautiful old building situated in the gay district of Berlin. Very convenient location if you're in town for going to gay clubs or bars, as most of them are within short walking distance. You even have a gay bar, shop and club right next door to the hotel. Walking to the closest U Bahn station takes 5 minutes. My room for 2 was spacious and bright, with comfortable armchairs which I really appreciated to be able to rest my feet after long days exploring the city. The ceiling height is massive and the decor of the whole hotel is super quirky and fun! Top marks for cleanliness. The staff is very helpful and gives great recommendations on what to do during your stay. The breakfast was nice, as well.
The beds consists of insanely hard box spring mattresses with no mattress toppers - this seems to be a German thing? Extremely uncomfortable, I had to ask for extra pillows to use as some sort of padding to be able to sleep at all, because it really hurts everywhere. It's an old building, so the sound proofing is pretty much non existent - you will hear everything going on in the corridor and they will hear you. Bring ear plugs and you'll be fine.

Room was even better than described. I went for the budget option but it felt very luxurious. Staff are super friendly and very accommodating. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear people in the hallway sometimes but considering how old the building is, it's not too bad. The hotel is on top of a club but I couldn't hear a thing so you can get a good night's sleep even on a weekend. The area is peaceful with lots of cute shops and restaurants and the hotel is a short walk to U Wittenbergplatz. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and will probably book here again on my next trip to Berlin.
This is not the hotel's fault, but there was a homeless person sleeping in front of the door the first night I got back to my hotel and I did have to "climb" over the person to get back inside the hotel. The person wasn't aggressive so I was able to make it back to my room fairly quickly but as a solo female traveller it did make me a bit nervous. It seemed like an unusual event and I think this is an issue for most places in Berlin, but I think this is something to be aware of when booking since theres no night staff or security personnel in the building late at night.

The hotel is small, with outstanding staff, who make an effort to meet any need one may have. Each room is differently designed, comfortable and large The hotel is in a gay location, and offers a friendly welcome to all. Very clean, with rooms serviced every day. A well worth it, excellent breakfast is served. There is coffee, tea and more for guests to enjoy in the dining area. In the afternoon / evening.
Not bothersome to me, but rooms don't have a fridge or air-conditioning.

I booked online (duh) and didn't know it had mostly (exclusively?) gay clientele. The bar in the same building downstairs literally has a sign that reads "Males Only." But other than that laugh / surprise, this hotel mostly met my expectations. It may in part be due to the fact that they didn't have the room I'd booked so they upgraded me. Whatever the reason the room was great. Everyone that worked there was great too. Solicitous and helpful, they made staying there a pleasure. This hotel is in what must have been a luxurious apartment in half of one floor of an older building. The place as been converted into rooms and works well, but it does lack a regular lobby and the breakfast room is perhaps the only place to lounge outside of one's room. There's an old fashioned elevator which works fine.
Floors squeak a fair bit. Not much place in the hotel to lounge.

For the gay traveler this hotel was perfectly located. It occupies most of the 3rd floor of a historic building and takes decorating advantage of its original detailing. Our room was a large suite with plenty of windows and a comfortable private bathroom. Modern decorations contrasted with the 1890's molding and details. The breakfast room was lovely and very generous with food and coffee. Miroto was the morning manager who provided EXCELLENT service and made wonderful scrambled eggs for us each morning. The entire staff was accomodating, fun and professional. In addition to the hotel itself, right outside the front door is a great gay bar (Prinzknect). The street is filled with an assortment of dining options and there are lots of gay night life venues within just a few blocks. Access to the metro is very convenient and also the incredible KaDeWe department store is just down the street. This is a wonderful, quirky and surprising place to stay! I'll never stay anywhere else when I visit Berlin
The only detail that was a bit annoying was the squeeky parquet flooring. Of course since this is a historic building I doubt that there is anything that can be done to rectify this....it was a beautiful floor to look at.

The place is one of a kind. You can tell there's great care behind every detail, and the staff makes you feel welcome and cared for. If you really want to feel pampered, have breakfast there at least once. I wish I had had more time to enjoy it. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. It's located in a lovely neighborhood, and close to Wittenbergplatz station, so it's very easy to get around from there. I'll surely keep this place in mind if/when I return to Berlin!
If we really want to split hairs, some parts of the room I was in showed subtle signs of time, but don't let this put you off.

It was right near the place I had to work. Believe it says the hotel is friendly for straight people...:-), I concluded it's not for the gay... just a joke, but honestly I couldn't care less. Really friendly people at a great location.
Don't know but the entrance is on the middle of a men's bar. That was kind of weird as on the Monday evening it was completely full with leather boys outside. And since I couldn't find the front door I believe I caught the attention of juist of them. Just something to laugh about at course...

The hotel is very good, but BOOKING.COM IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY ANY MORE! I noticed it when booking.com pretended that I am too late with my cancellation in Hong Kong (while I was not!). But for the last straw was not repaying me 309 EUR (actually, 809 EUR) for a booking in Brisbane at a hotel which is closed!: simply not answering; closing email address (!) without mentioning the new one; and pretending "to be dead". BE VERY CAUTIOUS, OR YOU MAY GET ROBBED LIKE ME!

clean, great spot, good atmosphere and a great shower beam!
floor squeaked like crazy and walls are quite thin because it’s an older building, but for me it was fine
