Hotel Tiergarten Berlin

I like the location, which is close to railway station, Reichstag and Brandenburg Tor. Also metro and bus station are nearby. There are Shops, small cafes and bakery close to the hotel. The building is nice with a pretty vintage staircase:) The room wasn't big however for a short stay it is fine. It is clean, warm and with a very high ceiling:) There is everything you need in the room and in bathroom. If you need a kettle you can request it at a Service desk or you can take free Hot water from a coffe machine. Coffee ftom the coffee machine is about 2,5 euro.

Well, for some reason they didn't check my passport at the registration desk. Not sure If it is acceptable for security reasons. The staff could be a bit more welcoming:=) at least a tiny smile would be enough, however it is not a big issue :)

Good location . As the name suggests it’s a short walk to the Tiergarten , with its beer gardens , cafes and greenery . The building has character . staff were friendly .

The building was undergoing a major refurbishment while we were there. If I had known this I wouldn’t have stayed there . I am sure it will be wonderful when the work is done , but at times we felt like we we were staying on a building site . There are signs in reception warning about the works . But we weren’t warned when we booked on line .

The room was very spacious, a bunk bed with king-size bed. There was a fan which proved to be very helpful during the summer with the heat wave, made the stay much more bearable. The windows faced an Innenhof/courtyard so away from the road. The hotel allowed us to use the insert coin laundry machine (just 2 Euros). Plenty of sockets. Like that you can hang your towels if you don't want your towels renewed (environmentally-friendly). Not so far from the main station with direct bus line.

The bunk bed was not very stable, squeaked and rocked especially when turning on the top bed. Although we hung our towels everyday, they changed our towel on the 3rd day (after the 2nd night, we were there for only 3 nights, so did not see the need to change). There is no ceiling light, only bed lamp lights therefore the room is very dark at night. We were there in summer so shorter nights, early morning sunlight, but not sure if it's comfortable for winter stays.

The location of the hotel is very good. The metro is close and all the important attractions of Berlin are within walking distance. Likewise access to local shops and restaurants. The facility is nice, comfortable. We were with a large group, with 5 children, we were satisfied.

The lift is very small and only accommodates 2 people, even with luggage there is then a problem. I think it needs to be replaced because the sounds it makes make users afraid. We were given two connected rooms with a bathroom, which suited us very well because we were in two friendly families. Only this flat I think was not prepared. For example in the kitchen which was there was a lot of dust. In the bathroom the cabin cover was broken.

I was aware that this is not the Kempinski, but for the relatively low amount I paid, I got a good value and the room was clean and well maintained. Yes true, it's not brand new, but I did not expect that. Front desk was friendly and cooperative and check in and out went quick. It was exactly what I needed for a one-night-stay and did not break the bank, compared to the rates of similar other hotels that day

I cannot think of any major flaws or incoveniences

That hotel was a part of my long travel to the UK. So I was tired and upset about delaying the train for more than 3 hours. My route was broken. When I arrived check-in was fast and comfortable, no extra pay for a cat, a lot of thanks for this :). The staff was helpful and propose a couple of decisions for my situation. Maybe someone could say some stuff is old but I like it. Creaky wooden stairs and huge windows. It was atmospheric. There is a Paulaner beer garden 200 meters from the hotel.

My windows faced the street so I could hear neighbours sometimes.

The staff on the front desk were very helpful, giving us an explanation of the area and the U-Bahn connections. The room was massive, which was a pleasant surprise! We had more than enough space for the two of us, and the bathroom was incredibly clean. The hotel is an excellent location as it is very close to a U-Bahn station, so the rest of Berlin can be easily accessed, and there are number of great restaurants in the vicinity. We didn't get breakfast so can't really comment on it.

Nothing - we enjoyed our stay.

The room was spacious and well heated. The room and bathroom were clean. The location of the hotel is quite good. You have the option to take bus and train or underground to reach to all around central Berlin (8 min to Central station, 20 min to Alexanderplatz, 27 min to Brandenburg Gate). The room was quiet even though the location of the hotel is quite communicative. The staff was helpful even though I had to check in late in the evening.

The room only had side lights rather than a main one meaning we had all the lights on in the evening. The toilet door had no lock and a big gap at the bottom of the door

The location, the hotel the reviews were excellent and of course the value for money the character of the hotel beautiful stairway big doors like going back in time.really quiet and comfortable.and the reception staff were so friendly.also love the tea&coffee facilties on the 1st floor were we stayed.

This is not life or death lol maybe a couple of USB ports just for charging mobile devices otherwise can't fault hotel.
