Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten

This hotel was the perfect location for what we wanted to do, opposite the station with direct trains running constantly into the centre with 15-20 mins. We found ourselves popping back to the hotel for a freshen up before going out again as it was that convenient. Check in and check out was easy and the room was lovely and the cleanest hotel room I have seen for a long time. Staff seemed lovely from the brief interactions we did have.

Not a massive issues but lack of English tv channels on the TV as this is something nice to relax or while we got ready to go out - tried Apple screen share but buttons did not seem to work for this or the smart tv function. Petty dislike but all we can think off.

This is an amazing hotel and spotlessly clean, staff were friendly and helpful. The Bar was surpassingly cheap for a hotel bar too. The rooms were again spotless and clean very spacious too. Only criticism is that they do jot provide milk in the tea and coffee in the room. However there is a fridge so you can use milk from the local supermarket. This hotel is in a prime location right adjacent to the Tiergarten S Bhan station which is also only two stops away from Berlin Central and Berlin Zoo. Could not fault it at all would recommend highly.

Great location, well-sized room, fridge, bathtub. Vending machines allow you to grab something quick to eat at any time. Sauna and steam rooms are quite nice with solarium with a nice view. Gym looks great with modern equipment. There is an ironing room with everything necessary for those clothes wrinkled from travel.

Sauna opening hours are odd, working only in the afternoon and until 20:00 if I remember correctly. So quite hard to use it if you are sightseeing during the day. Normally these are open early morning so you can go before starting the day. Breakfast is very expensive, we decided to have it elsewhere or grab something from the vending machines.

Good location - literally next to Tiergarten S-Bahn station. I believe street parking is free around the hotel, although I bought a spot in the hotels underground garage (19EUR per night) The room we got was facing the main street but it was soundproofed really well and we didn't hear any noise from outside. Breakfasts were good.

Rooms could use a little touch up already but it's not so bad. Hotel was at high occupancy when we were there which meant crowded breakfast buffet and long waits for the elevators in the mornings, unless you got up before 8AM.

Spacious and nicely-decorated room, very comfortable bed (even the sofa-bed was super comfortable to sleep on!), very clean room and bathroom, coffee- and tea-making appliances, minibar free of charge with water, juices etc, and welcome plate with fruit, salty snacks and small sweets. The hotel bar serves comfort-dishes even late at night. Friendly personnel at the reception, quick and easy check-in and -out. The position of the hotel is also great, across the street from an S-Bahn station on several suburban train lines and 3 min. walk away from the greenest area within the city. Also easily reachable by car as the hotel is situated right on an avenue. In spite of this, we did not have an issue with noise, as sound isolation was very good. For people very sensitive to noise, though, it may make sense to ask for room not on the side looking to the S-Bahn station, as trains could be lightly heard during the night. We have not had breakfast at the hotel, so unfortunately no info on that front.

It would have been nice to have tea cups in the room - espresso cups, even large ones, are obviously too small for drinking tea :-) We would have also liked to have shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. The hotel did provide all-round shampoo-and-shower-gel in a single big bottle for all guests but shampoo and conditioner should be standard for such a hotel and for the price range. Also, in a room with a bathroom and an extra WC, there was only one bottle of liquid soap, which we had to carry along from bathroom to WC and back in case more than one person were using the facilities simultaneously. A detail but a rather basic one.

Hotel facilities were amazing that included a delicious buffet breakfast in mornings, free parking onsite, luxurious suite rooms (located on 6th floor) with great views, and above all very courteous and polite administrative staff. I had visited Berlin during last week of December 2022 with my wife and little children to celebrate the New Year and it was spectacular to see the city fireworks from the hotel's terrace located on 6th floor (adjacent to the Hotel's own Spa). The Berlin Zoo (175 years old) is waking distance from the hotel, and we visited the Zoo with our kids. It was an incredible and unique experience for us to cherish. There are so many tourist monuments to visit in the neighborhood from the hotel area, and are at walkable distance. The Tiergarten train station is right opposite the hotel, and one can easily take the local train journey to tour most of the popular areas in the city.

The location was ideal for us. The room was well equipped and had sufficient space for our two suitcases. The seating area was comfortable, a sofa and a chair. The bathroom with a shower AND a bath was great.

The hand soap and sanitary bags were empty and I had to ask for them to be filled. There was confusion about the breakfast times during the week and on Sundays. It would be helpful if this information was available in the room, perhaps on an “information sheet”.

Excellent location, just in front of one train station. We got even by chance to visit the flea market that was in place on Saturday! Breakfast was excellent and the personnel was very polite and professional. At the breakfast end time the personnel chief went personally to each table to advise in very kind manner that the food and beverages were being withdrawn. Parking is good and comfortable. Definetely we would like to return to this hotel in case we come back to Berlin!

The location was great! The train station was literally across the street making it easy to get around the city. The staff were friendly and the room was nice!

Everything was great but I would recommend having an outlet on both sides of the bed so both individuals could charge phones. WiFi was sporadic and the lights seemed to be not wired correctly as some of the switches that linked to the bedroom were controlled by the switches in the living area. These were minor inconveniences but otherwise a great place!

The hotel is right next to the Tiergarten station which makes it connected to all major landmarks in the city. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. The staff was kind and offered us an early check-in free of charge. They even had small presents for kids. All in all, good value for money.

The toilet without any washing facility is separated from the bathroom, which made it a bit inconvenient. Also, we found the offered breakfast a bit expensive, considering we could eat out for half the price.
