A very quiet room with a comfortable bed. A nice old building overall, even though is was clearly unsuited for a 4 star hotel. The neighbourhood was nice and elegant and quiet. The staff was extremely nice and friendly and helpful (everybody could speak English and one of them could even speak Italian). At walking distance from downtown, but half an hour of walk; reasonably close to an Underground station, however. The parking space, in a private courtyard, was convenient, even though we learned only afterwards that it was farily costly.

The main problem with this place is its having a 4 star rating. This is not a 4 star hotel, but a private house adapted to be a hotel among several difficulties. We don't like having stairs to climb (with luggage) just to reach the reception. The elevator was ridiculously small, owing to the need of squeezing it in the available little space left by the stairs. The breakfast was the poorest aspect: a nice room with a veranda (overlooking the parking space, however), but with very little choice of stuff bought in the closeby supermarket and presented in a rather sad fashion.

The Beethoven was immaculate, exceptionally quiet we never heard another guest the soundproofing was the best we’ve ever experienced. The room was comfortable with a chair and small table. While we didn’t have breakfast there the smell from the kitchen was very tempting. We really enjoyed our stay at the Beethoven.

No tea and coffee making facilities. The staff where happy to provide it’s just nice to make at your own convenience. The hotel is a 20 min walk from the centre which was not a problem for us as we love to walk but others less able may not find this to their liking

The breakfast was lovely. There was a great variety of food on offer, including bacon and eggs; muesli, flakes, yoghurt; buns and pastries; bread and jam; butter; fruit salad; two kinds of juice; specially brewed coffee individually served at the table in a little porcelain coffee pot. The people were also extremely helpful and nice. Although I arrived for my free early check-in after breakfast had closed, I was offered coffee and pastries. In the middle of the night, when I was up with jet lag, Mr. Haberkorn, the night manager, again offered me fruit and drink. All this was completely unnecessary and done purely out of pleasantness.

Very clean building and room; reception was welcoming and informative; has a balcony with 2 metal chairs and small table; in a residential neighborhood so is very quiet at night; shower has plenty of hot water and strong pressure; there are nightstands, lamps and outlets on each side of bed; decor is basic yet classy; wooden staircase; apple basket left out to take as needed

Double bed is 2 mattresses; carpeted floor; drain in shower drains slowly; view from balcony is mostly parking

Very nice hotel situated in a quiet residential area but still very accessible by public transport. The breakfast choice was excellent. Staff were very helpful and spoke very good English.

Overall decor of the hotel was a bit old fashioned. A bit expensive for the standard.

The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful neighbourhood within walking distance of the Messe exhibition spaces with small independent restaurants nearby. I woke every morning to birdsong, very peacful!

Beautiful, friendly, comfy place. Comfortable bed. Desk. Toiletries. Good sound insulation between rooms, at least I couldn't hear anything from neighbouring rooms. Perfect place to attend a conference at The Messe from.

Small technial things in the room. Expensive (at least on my scale).

The staff was especially friendly. Breakfast was outstanding. The location was perfect for us, next to parks, subway, streetcar, supermarket, restaurants, etc.

Located in a neighborhood. A bit away from the main tourist area, but easily accessible by public transport. A homey, personal atmosphere. More Germans than tourists stay here, which suited me perfectly.

The hotel is very cozy, clean and situated in a nice residential area close to the city centre. The room is well equipped and the staff super kind and helpful. Breakfast has a good variety of sweet and savory products. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back.
