The reception staff was super helpful and super nice, even when the reception queue was packed, specially Philip.

A cleaning staff member from Niger was acting drunk and struggling to balance himself and I found him throwing my things around trying to change my sheets after one night of staying. And since my things where on the bed I politely asked him if I could make the bed myself and he had a very aggressive behavior and speech, he was literally throwing the hoover all across the room sometimes hitting people around with it, and complaining of how dirty everything was, an overall aggressive and smashed drunk behavior. Also, unrelated, neither none of the USB ports nor the light were working at my bed. Room 864.

The room was clean with comfortable beds for all 4 of us. The rooftop view was spectacular and a nice treat although it was raining during the times we were there. We also liked the free luggage room (or you could pay for a locker) to leave our bags while we explore on our last day.

If we had to say....the neighborhood is blah, not so interesting. Bathroom had stains here and there, nothing big. Always a lot of people and their kids around the reception area checking in/out, although the lines do move along and our own check-in/out was efficient by the time it was our turn.

Comfortable. Affordable- €18 for a bed in an 8 bed dorm. Really good dark curtains. A separate shower and toilet room. Warm, high, decent pressure, shower. Helpful staff. Great WiFi. Lots of sockets for charging. Nice vibe. They gave me a free cup of tea in the morning.

The girl in my room who couldn't let me fully shut the curtains. People moving around really early. I didn't discover till morning that there was no duvet cover or pillow case on my bed. These aren't the fault of the place though (it was dark and folk were already sleeping when I arrived. There were beds with the stuff but I couldn't see.) It's huge so it felt like a trek to my room (I was very tired!). I was slightly cold and had to get up to wear more but then I was fine.

A great hostel with great staff and really nice facilities; the location is also perfect

when I arrived at the Hostel I was given a key to a room and when I arrived at my room I discovered that it was a female only room. I was then given the shove by the females who were there and screamed it so I went back to the reception and was told that I was now given a key to an empty room only to discover that this room had occupants. I finally made it to a room where I wasn’t the unexpected party however by the stage I had spent 30 minutes running around the hostel.

Everything was in really good state, and I particularly want to congratulate the staff for being so efficient and helpful. One of the girls working at the reception offered to print a couple of pages for me and that little gesture saved me a lot of time going to a print shop. Those little things make such a huge difference sometimes. Amazing staff!

I could tell the bathrooms haven't been deeply cleaned for a bit because, although everything looked clean, there was a faint but persistent smell of urine whenever I used the toilet. Nothing super noticeable, but perhaps just clean the floors and toilet with a bit more care in the future.

We liked the location within the city, 20 min walk to the central train station and even more nearby train stations. The room itself was clean, well lit, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom area was clean. The people in the rooms next to ours weren’t audible at all. It was also accessible.

The TV had no signal and the bedside lights weren’t working. There were signs on the windows saying they couldn’t be fully opened, which was not the case and we could open them which might be a safety hazard considering the room was on a high floor.

This is so far the best A&O Hostel I've stayed at. The beds are great and you even have a hairdryer at the bathroom! In the lobby you can play billiard, air hockey and kicker. It was very clean and comfy! And the best part - it was so silent! Location is also great! For 4 persons our room was perfect!

The pillows could be a bit more comfortable. And the check-in process wasn't that quick - the machines were out of order and we had a huge line.

Comfortable bed with decent size room. Breakfast well worth paying the extra for. Location ok close to train which is 1 stop from central Hamburg or walk 30 mins

As always with the a&o chain, great value for money. Clean family room, everything is functioning as expected, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with soap and shampoo, really good breakfast with good coffee, meals are refilled until the very end of the breakfast time. Everything is very basic, but functional and for the price it is perfect.

Unfortunately, no parking in the hotel, you have to search for a parking lot in the streets around.

I was positively surprised during the whole vacation here! Specifically I liked Free Wi-Fi, self check-in desk, free bed linen, large luggage lockers, very cozy rooms, modern design of rooms, sockets nearby every bed, separate bathroom and WC, comfortable beds, kind atmosphere in the hostel, nice personnel and nicely decorated lobby

I totally liked it :)
