Breakfast was a fantastic German style breakfast with all fresh ingredients -bread, homemade jam, meats/cheese, muesli, yogurt, juice plus scrambled eggs! Delicious!! Host was superb-knowledgeable and welcoming. The hotel is also in the perfect location in relation to visiting sites in Heidelberg. Remember there is no air conditioning as a rule. This was not a surprise to me as I lived in Germany many years ago. I simply opened the windows.

Nothing I didn’t like. I like the charm of German type rooms/furniture.

An amazing breakfast with so much choise that it hardly fitted on the table, very gracefully served at the table by the extremely kind host, who was happy and the perfect host.. absolutely top marks for the service level in the hotel, and it is perfectly situated close to the old city and next to an amazing italian restaurant, which is also highly recommended. Excellent service on all levels, very nice and spotless room and helpful staff, which also helped with a call for a taxi, when we had to leave. Highly recommended and we would love to come back to lovely Heidelberg again... thanks a lot...

Nothing to complain about..

The vegan breakfast that i had requested and that hotel proprietor Peter served me was fantastically good, showing great consideration, variety and quality. It was more like a sumptuous, delicious two-course brunch than a mere breakfast! Great job-- and thank you for such a nourishing start to my last day in Europe on Aug 31, 2023! I love the old-world charm of the hotel's interior and exterior, the high-ceiling room, the extremely close location to Heidelberg's amazingly lush forest on the south side (the trailhead begins just 25 meters away, past the tunnel), and the proximity to the southwest section of Old Town. I loved my room 18's teal green colored furniture, and the big trees right outside my bedroom and bathroom windows-- it felt like staying right at the edge of the forest.

10 out of 10 fantastic service & rooms. Our family had 3 rooms here for the Christmas Markets and all 3 rooms were unique and fabulous - truly original, comfortable and spacious. Some had patios or a separate sitting room as well, which were nice surprises! The owners were a total joy - so helpful and friendly, and they make a homemade breakfast that is exceptional. It had the warm atmosphere of a B&B with rooms at a luxury hotel. I will always stay here during future visits!

I liked everything

An excellent and abundant breakfast is one of the things I liked best about the Hotel Anlage; another appealing feature is the very friendly and helpful staff.

I would have appreciated an extra towel or two in the bathroom, and I couldn't figure out how the TV channels listed in the guide matched up with the actual channels, but these are minor points.

The staff were incredibly kind and bent over backwards to make my visit successful. They were ambassadors for Heidelberg, not just the folks making sure that I had clean towels.

It could have been a longer stay! Be prepared, Americans, that AC is not as ubiquitous as back home. I expected that, but I could see the lack of AC being a nasty surprise if you're used to being ice-cold in July.

Location is excellent, staff are all excellent and very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and lots of choice. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. The bed was comfortable. The rooms are large.

It is an old building that is well maintained, and whilst all furniture and bathrooms were well maintained and clean, they are not modern. But if you don't mind an older look and feel, it is very good.

This is a lovely hotel in an old, traditional style. The owner, Peter, is very friendly & really cares about the welfare of his guests. The room is spacious & comfortable. Breakfast is exceptionally good, & highly recommended.

It can be a bit noisy with the vehicles, though not so much late at night. I would have liked to have tea-making facilities in the room.

The owners of the hotel were very polite and helpful, the room was very large with a separate hallway and bathroom. I had an excellent night's sleep. The breakfasts were delicious, served at the table. After such a hearty breakfast I did not feel like eating lunch.

I lived on the third floor and my Wi-Fi was quite slow. But it didn't bother me too much. Other than that, I have no comments to make.

Very friendly, kind and helpful owners, very clean, safe and locked bike storage, clean, good quality room, quiet, 5 mins walk to town centre. Best freshly made scrambled eggs and home-made jam for breakfast I've tasted in a long time!

Slightlt ated rooms but very clean and doesn't detract from friendly and great service.
