The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to try and help you!

Well the bedroom was clean but if you looked closely you could see it wasn’t that clean! Under the bed was so full of dust and spider webs and bits of food that had completely dried up! It definitely had not be hoover in many months!! Under the desk you could see clearly there was a huge drip strain of someone that had spill their drinks down the wall! No coffee/tea facility not even a hot drink machine in the reception area which was very disappointing as this is something that I consider important for hotel guest to have, there was not even one in the room to make tea/coffee!!

Good location especially for Christmas market. Staff friendly and breakfast very good. Food was sufficient and always well stock All credit to the waitress who worked very hard to accommodate everyone needs. Good price for comfortable beds and needs.

The lighting in the room was not very good as only 1 light worked in the inner room. Beds was all single which has its good point (kids can sleep separately) but then the adult slept separately. Very limited furniture in the room which does not make it very homely. Showers let water out if curtains not tucked in. Bath not located the best as someone tall could hit their head.

It is a nice friendly hotel right in the middle of Cologne. The location is probably the best asset of this place. The room was very simple but clean. The breakfast was rather basic but good anyway.

The street-view room was rather noisy. In the morning, I could hear all the cars passing by. Maybe other rooms don't have this problem. (The noise isolation inside the hotel could also be improved). It would be great to have an electric kettle for boiling hot water in the room during the day.

The breakfast was delicious!!! I really like the black woman at the reception. She really helped me with everything and I really appreciated it!!!! I forgot her name!!! She is a really kind person and calm. She was always available to help in any questions i had!!! Thank you so much!!!! Room 19 with the baby

Great location and great value. Small but very comfy room that did all that I needed. Internet speed was the best experienced in any hotel in Germany, which was a lovely surprise. The Hotel is like Dr Who's Tardis. You walk in a small door and then come to a really nice wood paneled reception and great breakfast area. Very friendly people, super value and super convenient for the Cologne old town and river side.

The location is good as not far from the cathedral. The hotel is an old building with some nice decoration and wooden elements. The room was decent and included everything we needed. It is great to also have complimentary breakfast.

The staff could try to make more effort to be nice and welcoming.

Not sure having two sex shops nearby would be ideal if I had brought my grandkids. Too many difficult explanations. However I was traveling alone and this did not bother me in the slightest.

All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially the house keeper (gentleman😊). The decorations are unique and gorgeous. The staff in the restaurant (kind and friendly uncle) was very patient and acted professionally when he dealt with rude and demanding customers.

The room is small but it’s clean and comfortable.

First, get your mind right. This hotel is not your modern, streamlined, upmarket hotel, but it satisfies all the basic requirements. We reached the hotel after having spent a week in a newly-built, modern hotel and it was a bit of a shock to stay in a hotel built in the 18th century, with small rooms. But the beds were extremely comfortable, which is, after all, the main requirement. We were disconcerted that there was no sit-down breakfast area, and the breakfast provided was a "take away" breakfast. That being said, once we had come to accept that, the breakfast was good, with pre-packed gourmet sandwiches and packaged take-away sausages (Bifi) and so forth. It was also good to know that we could take the sandwiches with us for lunch later and just have the yoghurt and other offerings for breakfast. Also, a major plus, is that the hotel is situated across from the Tartufo Ristorante, a very good Italian restaurant where we had a meal on the second night. Another plus that also opposite the hotel was an EcoWash laundry which we made use of twice during our stay that at a very reasonable price.

We were taken aback by the fact that the hotel was situated next to a sex shop, but as the hotel had been there first, we couldn't hold that against them! We were not bothered by any activities from said shop. Just be prepared for the surprise.

Breakfast was fine, room was comfy although basic furniture, nothing fancy! It worked well, and for the location being quire central was good value.

The location was amongst exotic shops which as a female travelling alone was uncomfortable. It seemed safe enough, but was not sure if walking alone at night in the area was a good idea. I just felt uncomfortable.
